Another contributing factor is that the sons and daughters of aging farmers have left the homestead to prospective employment in metropolitan areas, they don't want anything to do with farming. I can relate to that with my own family ,I was born and raised in a beef farm, I left to attend university and never returned to do any farm. I am in the construction industry 42 years, my own kids don't even want my trade or my business, they all have their own careers. Jean Paul Sarte has also written extensively on the matter and is certainly no stranger to the subject, but this gives a gloss of respectability to the topic, and this is not to say that Sarte is a Jew hater, but many so-called "intellectuals" invoke his name whenever the topic comes up. The point is that depending upon certain factors, the topic will always be with us one way or the other and has always been a part of Right-Wing hate speech. I suppose that now would be the perfect moment to give a resounding: FUCK YOU to cowardly scum like Kevin McCarthy who glibly and repeatedly condones antisemitic hatred whenever it suits him. Perhaps it’s not very dignified to post this but remember: the blistering and unbalanced HATRED that we know so well comes not from people like Nancy Pelosi, Adam Kinzinger, Charles Schumer, AOC, and the like but from scum like Rudy Giuliani, MJT, Ted Cruz, Lauren Boebert, Mike Lindell, Josh Hawley, Paul Gosar, and so many others on the Far Right. Say what you like about Democrats and Liberals, they have little tolerance for such blatant examples of race hatred. Unfortunately, subjects like antisemitism are now mainstream and the Far Right simply turned a blind eye to the matter altogether. Moreover, the incendiary rhetoric of Donald Trump only adds fuel to the fire. The Republican Party has never really dealt with the issue of antisemitism in any meaningful way, and this is the end result: Jew hatred is no longer a "crackpot" aberration of the Far Right; it is, in fact, one of its mainstays and nobody can deny it either. What is more, I'd like it to be clearly understood that both men are harbingers of our own brand of home-grown fascism, and nobody should be surprised by that fact either. Sinclair Lewis was fond of saying that as far as the emergence of fascist ideology went, he felt that "it can't happen here," meaning the United States. I think he might have been mistaken on that point. To people like me, a Republican is a word that is nearly synonymous with the word "fascist" or "Nazi." Given the unrelenting torrent of propaganda and hatred emanating from the Far Right, what other conclusion can I draw? I guess I made my point plainly enough but there are dozens of other examples.
