Bush gave us a 10.5 Trillion Debt and 1.3 Trillion Deficit. Obama got it down to about 550 Billion before Trump sent it back to a Trillion. Now you want to make that an election issue Huh? No. Clinton was the only PotUS since Reagan's voodoo economics (stimulus "supply-side" economics) became the life-blood of US growth to actually show some fiscal responsibility. And the only reason Clinton supported reducing federal deficit (debt) spending was because it was one of his campaign promises & the Republican take-over of Congress held him to it (not to mention that income tax rates where jacked up during a market boom period--which meant there was plenty of $$$ available so the govt didn't have to spend debt $$$ to get what they wanted. Frankly, they should have kept up the taxes, frozen deficit spending, & continued to use the extra $ to pay down the national debt--that's what any responsible executive would do.
