Zanjan: "There will be a toll way in 5 years"

Actually, Brian, that's not a bad idea - a toll booth. There's a price to be paid for everything so let them buy in and pay for the huge National deficit with a ticket cheaper than airplane fare. New jobs as tourist guides will open up, along with cut rate motels.

After all, they'll only take the jobs natural born Americans turn their nose up at. Lord knows, the turn-over rate at restaurants, gas stations, and sewer workers is deplorable. There's not a shred of evidence that the Dreamers did America any harm.

chronology
chronology: Zan, a 'Toll' ? you have got to be joking. There is no country on Earth you have to pay to enter, and it would be a national humiliation for the U.S.A. if it charged a entry fee.

The U.S. like every other country makes a return on VAT taxes which visitors pay when buying goods in visited countries. This is often a bone of contention with some Americans. Visitors to the U.S. pay rock bottom taxes on Gas for cars, while Americans are hit in the pockets in many countries they visit.
The most popular country on earth at the moment is France for tourists. Americans contribute quit a share of taxes there with VAT, not that they mind, everyone loves France.

The most welcome visitors around the world at the moment are Germans. Folks from Germany can visit virtually every country on earth without needing Visa's. But folks from Germany are likely to get a little 'miffed' if U.S. Boarder Guards start demanding money to allow them into the country. That would be a loss to the U.S. if Germans went elsewhere, they are among the biggest spending tourists.

It is worth remembering Zan, the U.S. National Debt is a 'soft debt' . not a 'hard' debt. A soft debt means Congress can more or less be flexible with creditors, as the creditors need them as much as Congress needs it's loans. An example is money lent from China. China has Bonds for billions of dollars loaned to the U.S. This American money in China's Banks allows China to trade everywhere as it can, with the permission of Congress, use the money to finance international trade. If America paid off it's loans from China tomorrow that would cause China no end of problems with trade, as it would have no dollars to use. Despite what you may hear, the dollar is still the most welcome money on earth.

Zanjan
Zanjan: Chron, nobody who protests the wall has come up with an alternative solution, one they havent tried yet. I'm just throwing ideas out there. That one compliments the corridor of safe passage idea. Free, is when you keep going to the next border.

It's not like the Government has a standard beyond the Constitution; it can rule as it wishes, even throw temper tantrums and shut down the government if it doesn't get its own way, making people work without pay and bringing industry to a halt. They're all about the bottom dollar, which they've never proven to manage well. The notion of "soft debts" is absurd - the chickens will always come home to roost.

There are advantages and disadvantages to everything - the downside is the poor can't pay and we don't like the idea of indentured servitude - that IS immoral. Kinda like what you described as "soft debt".

Maybe it's time to think about something you can't throw money at to solve.

El Comandante:
The issue some have with the wall is it's inability to address the issue. It'll be an expensive bandage that'll need maintenance. That seems reasonable to me. The US is already satuated with debt. Can't keep borrowing or printing to facilitate overspending.

Personally, at the moment, I dont care what the US build in their country. I'm not invested in its tax payers wasting money.

But the shitting on Latin Americans has crossed the limit. From the foreign policies that further push for instability in these lands to blaming it for all your issues.

The Americans want a wall, go ahead, maybe a dome will be better and isolation for a couple of years. A proper time out for reflection.

Man, wish all these patriotic nationalists will isolate themselves completely.

Rod_The_Troll
Rod_The_Troll: zanjan, here's an alternative solution that would fix illegal immigration in about 2 months, FINE BUSINESS WHO HIRE ILLEGALS AT THE RATE OF $25,000 per worker, get ICE to make a few high profile examples and put it out in the media.....problem would solve itself, we cant do this for 2 reasons 1. Business owners in the GOP would never tolerate loss of this cheap labor 2. Democrats like illegal immigration because they vote democrat....this is not a new idea....so please shut up with your noise about "no one has proposed another solution' TONS OF OTHER SOLUTIONS HAVE BEEN PROPOSED...the bipartisan policy counsel has full plan for comprehensive immigration reform.......jesus christ..........READ A BOOK, EDUCATE YOURSELF OR PLEASE JUST STFU

Zanjan: Evan: "TONS OF OTHER SOLUTIONS HAVE BEEN PROPOSED."

Ideas which were never employed are not solutions. So, you have no way of knowing if they could work. It's a solution only when it has resolved a problem.

Maybe the USA could make a trade off - one loudmouthed disrespectful American for every new immigrant, legal or not.

Think on these two things a sec:
1. When the agreement will be implemented.
2. What exact aspect of that agreement on Mexico's end will be greatly favourable to the US.

They seem as simple things but it's a bit important to look into it without taking Trump's word on things. I'm sure all three countries will gain some and lose some from the agreement but Mexico wouldn't be 'paying'.
Any growth a country gets from trade is still the tax payers' investment.
