Tatty, the extra unemployment money is on top of what people already get.
A person on unemployment gets $300 a week (some make less, some make more)
They make $1200 a month on unemployment at $300 a week.
Then they received an extra $600 a week through the CARES act.
They then had $900 a week, $3600 a month.
That ended on July 31, 2020
They still get their unemployment though.
tattyteresa01: wow thatts better than us then plus food coupon ,we dont get that aand then they should be grateful
$1200 a month won't pay their bills....but Fractured made it sound like people don't get anything.
Sweet dreams, see you tomorrow
tattyteresa01: oh a month i thought a fortnight still a lot of money to me lol yes nite Gramma ;tulip:

Cost Of Living Index by State 2020
The cost of living is defined as the amount of money needed to sustain a certain standard of living by affording basic needs such as housing, food, healthcare, and more. The cost of living is often used to compare how expensive it is to live in one location compared to another and is also used as a big factor for people to determine where they want to be located in addition to cultural attractions, the job market, and other factors.
The cost of living in the United States varies significantly between states. A large determining factor for the cost of living index is housing. For reference, the median rent for a two-bedroom apartment in the United States is $1,192 per month.

Another thing to take into consideration is a persons lifestyle.
We live very simple. Our home is paid for, we have no credit card debt. Our only bills are auto insurance, medical, phone, electric and garbage. We heat with wood.
We do not go out to eat and our entertainment is family based.
IMO the majority of people in the USA live outside their means. Living outside your means is spending more then you make.
