Lost in a Lost World (Page 5)

chronology
chronology: No Zan, he really did wake up lieing in a car park. He was not married. He became a none drinker after that episode. He took in another kind of spirit, he became a spiritualist. Sounds like Bill Wilson's story, the man who founded AA.
If the bottle banks are anything to go by people are knocking back the booze like there is no tomorrow. But it puzzles me why they are chuggalugging at the expensive brand names of whiskey and Vodka etc. If you are just using the stuff to get to sleep any old plonk will do. With no one having to drive to work they don't have to worry about being breathalysed in the morning. It is creepy at times in the early morning. Not a car anywhere, only me riding home on my motorcycle, like one of those Hollywood movies about the end of the world. But cars are slowly beginning to return in the early hours. Even the skies are empty of Aircraft. Only the occasional rumble of military jets on patrol. Another curious point is the drunks have been swept away by police. Every single little nook and cranny was deserted in town. Normally the drunks would gather out of the way near the River, or under bridge's to drink beer and swap stories. But not a single group anywhere. The police are going around on bicycles moving them on.

MJ59: Let's hear from the Moodys:

Lost in a Lost World
The Moody Blues

I woke today, I was crying
Lost in a lost world
So many people are dying
Lost in a lost world
Some of them are living an illusion
Bounded by the darkness of their minds
In their eyes, it's nation against nation against nation
With racial pride
Sounds...
Thinking only of themselves
They shun the light
(Shun the light)
They think they're right
(Think they're right)
Living in their empty shells
Oh, can you see their bodies thrashing?
(So many people, so many people)
Crashing down around their feet
Angry people in the street
Telling them they've had their fill
Of politics, people who kill
Grow... the seed of evolution
(So many people, so many people)
Revolution everyone
It's just another form of gun
To do again what they have done
Let all our brothers come and get some
(So many people, so many people)
Everywhere you go you see them searching
Everywhere you turn you feel the pain
Everyone is looking for the answers
Well, look again; come on, my friend
Love will find us in the end
Come on, my friend
(On, my friend)
We've got to bend
(Got to bend)
Down on our knees and say a prayer
Oh, can you see the world is pining?
(So many people, so many people)
Pining for someone who really cares enough to share his love
With all of us so we can be
An ever-loving family
Have we forgotten who loves who?
(So many people, so many people)
Children from a family tree
That's longer than a centipede
Started long ago when you and I
Were only love...
(So many people, so many people)
I woke today, I was crying
Lost in a lost world
So many people are dying
Lost in a lost world
So many people, so many people
People lost in a lost world
So many people, so many people
People lost in a lost world

Zanjan: I watched the One World At-Home Concert on TV tonight - the world's top performers, great music, amazing voices. The only thing weird was the Rolling Stones - Charlie Watts was air drumming. Cant believe a musician of such stature had no drum kit at home.

Too bad you missed it.

Then I watched a science doc and learned about the Carrington Event - maybe you know this one - the largest CME from the sun in recorded history. It caused chaos, and that was in 1859! It made compasses go crazy, and people who'd never seen the Aurora Borealis saw them as far south as Cuba and in Australia. It shortcircuited telegraph wires and set wildfires all over the USA and Europe. There was zero communication for 4 days.

Imagine if that happened today, and just when we've cleared the pandemic. Power blackouts for up to a year. That would eliminate all free concerts for the cold, hungry and lonely.
