Why Trump won, a message! (Page 5) Nicotina: The sad thing is that many people who are middle to low income believe that trump is fighting for them when that certainly isn't the case. The very programs to give the less fortunate a hand up are the same programs that are being eliminated, SNAP for instance. Often times the politicians are giving their rich friends a substantial tax break while the most vulnerable amongst us are neglected. No matter what your political affiliation is, please follow the money and decide if the politician is truly working in your best interest. Most of us could never afford to influence a politician so the only option we have is to vote in a person who is trying to help all people rather than a person who has been bought by the system. davidk1: . It's time to cut social programs that can be cut. There is not enough money on the planet to pay for everything that everyone wants government to pay for. Regarding SNAP, I know folks that are on SNAP that pay cash for cigarettes and alcohol and in many instances, illegal drugs. Many of these are folks that are not married so that they can get social services easier like SNAP and housing and medical, and whatever else they can get. I have no issue with folks that have fallen through the cracks getting help, but this help has become a way of life. Unfortunately, many folks think that raising the minimum wage to $15 will help. It has not. What it has done is to remove jobs because the employer has reduced the number employed and making others pick up the slack just to keep the bottom line healthy. One of my daughters who works at an engineering firm had to take up another job description as well and she says she is having horrible issues keeping up doing two full-time jobs even though they are not minimum wage positions. Many tipped employees are working harder due to companies not filling jobs that are being vacated. They are making more money, however, jobs have been slim for entry-level positions creating many issues. Look at what has happened in the fast-food industry recently such as Popeyes and KFC where fewer employees on shifts have caused excessive pressure on fewer employees working. One place, a mother brought in her underaged child to help out because it was so fricking busy. This is not even addressing middle income homes where two parents are working minimum wage jobs. The children are being left behind most of the time. In black homes, 73% of the women are not married. Most have no man at all and are single parents, most of whom try like hell to make it. Even with full social programs available, most of the children are illiterate if the numbers coming out of California (75% of black males can not read) and other states are correct. Baltimore, out of five schools, not one child can read or write effectively or at all. There are deep issues affecting our society and throwing socialist money at it is not the answer, as England has discovered. It may be the bandaid but the infection underneath the bandaid is causing the cures from taking effect to heal. . SandyGotTheSHITS: no offense but I know why he won too. However I will not read your wasted data. You should have been an actuary or something. Altho I do admire your work, its really a waste of time. SandyGotTheSHITS: one has to wonder how he knows so many people personally that get SNAP, drink smoke and are on illegal drugs. He seems to be hanging in the wrong crowd. SandyGotTheSHITS: one thing that I will add is that the minimum wage in the state I live is only $7.25 an hour. Not 15 SandyGotTheSHITS: um, Hunter Biden will be 50 In February. I think hes not a kid anymore, don't you? What he does or doesn't do is not his fathers business. He is a grown old man basically. SandyGotTheSHITS: you have to be the most boring person on this planet. In fact in the universe too. | Politics Chat Room 50 People Chatting Similar Conversations |
