wireclubs 2nd most uninteresting news thread

R E B E C C A: I'm going to kick off this thread by repeating a news article that was so uninteresting you may well of forgotten about it.....
An Oxford bus driver deliberately drove past Muslims who tried to flag him down, according to a Muslim group.
Tell Mama reported two incidents on the same day where Muslims were "completely ignored" by a Stagecoach bus driver.
When a witness complained to Stagecoach he received an email from the company saying it was "at a loss to explain why the driver did not stop".
In a response to the BBC, Stagecoach insisted the driver's motivations were not racially motivated. The complainant, known as Mr Akbar, described an incident involving a couple on the Cowley Road at the Plain bus stop as'Not random'
He wrote: "[They] tried to flag the bus down but the driver, despite seeing them, completely ignored them and continued to drive on.
"This wasn't a random event. Earlier in the day I witnessed the same number 10 Stagecoach bus this time at The Slade being flagged down by a group of people, one of whom was clearly wearing a hijab and clearly identifiable as a Muslim.
"Even here the bus driver ignored the passenger along with a couple of others and deliberately chose to drive on."
In an email to Mr Akbar, Stagecoach said: "I can see the situations you described [on CCTV]. I am at a loss to explain why the driver did not stop.
The company told the BBC it had carried out a full investigation and spoken to the driver. It said: "There was one occasion on which a customer remained inside the bus shelter as the vehicle passed the stop and did not appear to clearly indicate a desire to board that particular bus."
The company said it was unable to trace evidence of the second incident, but did not tolerate discrimination of any kind.
You could be mistaken in thinking this is Baltimore USA but no this is the face of discrimination in Britain...Where wearing a hijab might leave you stood at the bus stop watching the no 10 bus sail past and disappear out of view

sebtheanimal: Becky I am in Baltimore and Muslims wearing hijabs here are not treated any differently than anyone else. This is because all kinds of people live and therefore must get along here. The cops that faced that death of a subject in custody were black too.

R E B E C C A: well then i'd say its pretty much like Baltimore theres never been an issue with racism in Britain no matter how much the bbc wants it to be.. N if the best they can come up with is a story about a bus not stopping for people at a bus stop - one of which was a muslim i think we arent doing to badly tbh

It looks like racism....but what about when its another way around!!!

Faced with rising fuel prices and less competition a bus operator stopped operating some services and changes other services .

The DWP refused to admit that there was no longer any bus service for these rural areas and sanctioned those who had already been left without means to get to the larger town.

Hundreds of people had their benefits stopped. And at least eighteen died in one incident alone.

The High Court in Colchester tried to keep the whole thing quiet. The case was moved to the north of England where it was hoped that people would have to say what they meant as there appeared to be an " understanding " between the people in Court as the notes did not make sense.

Its the same as what happened to the Jews, on a smaller scale and at a cheaper price.

That is what Cameron is facing today. He must explain why his workers can't see these people are fooking loony Nazis.

R E B E C C A: its not racist its happened to me lots of times with the bus.

N i get what your saying about cutting peoples benefits but they cant honestly say that living in Colchester is a rural area its part of London??i think the maximum jsa is about £68.i think Cameron and his supporters really ought to try living on that amount instead of just patronizing people n claiming they haven't managed their money. The job centers new role is to get people off benefits not find them jobs

Well, yeah, it has happened to me too. But in the countryside if it happens you could have your benefit stopped for up to three years!!

The Court was in Colchester. I don't know why the case went there except that Colchester was the centre of a highway maintenance scam.

The place smelt so badly that the Court papers had to be reprinted and this caused suspicion as the contents did not make sense.

They are not allowed to have access to your anything.

At the moment Cameron is on the defensive because of the people he has employed.

Why has he skimped on helping people and paid the savings to his wealthy friends??

There are now fewer jobs.

...And today people are saying " Why are they employing fooking loony Nazis?? "

ghostgeek: In my somewhat limited experience, the bus drivers of Oxford have always been decent enough. If they were anti muzzie I doubt any bus would stop on the Cowley road.

Well actually the bus drivers of Oxford have often caused disputes even strikes. They were famous for it.

But the same sort of thing has often happened elsewhere very often near hospitals due to the deteriorating environment.

Bus drivers notice the changes in the bus and fear to stop or drive to some places, such as hospitals!!

It also often is very unhealthy on board the bus unless it is driven with great care. Avoid them if you can.

R E B E C C A: The first man set to undergo a head transplant has been revealed, saying that he finds the controversial surgery “very scary, but also very interesting”.

Valery Spiridinov is set to be the first person to undergo the operation. It will be carried out by controversial Italian doctor Sergio Canavero, whose optimistic plans have mostly been met with scepticism.

But Spiridonov — who has the rare genetic Werdnig-Hoffman disease, which gradually wastes away muscles — says that he is willing to undergo the risky procedure to give himself a chance at living in a healthy body.

“Am I afraid? Yes, of course I am. But it is not just very scary, but also very interesting,” Spiridonov, speaking from his house in the Russian town of Vladimir about 120 miles from Moscow, told MailOnline.

“But you have to understand that I don't really have many choices,” he said. “If I don't try this chance my fate will be very sad. With every year my state is getting worse.”

Spiridinov said that he has spoken with Dr Canavaro over Skype but they are yet to meet. The Russian man was chosen from a number of people that emailed and wrote to Canavaro to ask to undergo the procedure, he said.

Canavaro raised scepticism earlier this year when he said that he would be able to carry out the procedure within two years. Other medical experts called the procedure unlikely, and rare, as well as highlighting the fact that it would never be used for those that simply want to replace an ailing body. Some have even compared Canavaro to Frankenstein.

The head transplant is set to work by taking the head off a person suffering from a wasting or degenerative disease, and transplanting it onto the body of someone who is braindead but still has a functioning body. It would be akin to the process of moving organs into a body — but would rely on the donor’s family giving away the entire body, rather than just parts of it.

The procedure was carried out on a monkey in 1970. But surgeons didn’t transplant the spinal cord, so the monkey could not move, and it lived for only nine days and died when the head was rejected by the body’s immune system.

It has never been done on a human, but Canavaro claims that all the necessary science and technology is now in place. “I think we are now at a point when the technical aspects are all feasible,” Canavaro has said.
