Back to the thread...

Just read that that the Afghan forces called in an air strike on a building which turned out to be a hospital with combatants as well as non-combatants. The Americans did not verify the target.

Since the US really only has a limited role in Afghanistan, both sides of the Afghan conflict are now at the same level of barbarianism.

SWlNE: Yes, that attack on the Soviets was a bad move. I think many different things contributed to the winning of that war. It was really something else. The Nazis were so close. I think too that Hitler caused part of his downfall. I remember reading about him neglecting the counsel of his military men.

SWlNE: haa this world is crazy.

You find a radical group and you arm it. You support it. Then think they'll suddenly go away when you're done with them. It's stupid.

That's like Russia arming and supporting the KKK (the most extreme representation of Christian supporters). You think nothing will come from supporting and arming the most fùcked up radical groups in the world? Now muslims and nonmuslims have to deal with it.

SWlNE: I doubt it, Willy1522. These nutjobs would've died down and would've been much less influential. There will be people in each ideology or religion who will use it as a means of violence etc. (even 'democracy' has been used to that end). You don't go around arming or giving persons as like a voice.

Shangri La Chaser: @David ,

So????? Article is much saner and voices my point exactly!

"Why does this history lesson matter? It tells us how we got from there to here. It is the disastrous history of western imperialism, intervention and war in the Middle East that drive terrorism directed at the west. Western jails incubated the leadership of Islamic State, western foreign policy sustained it with thousands of foreign fighters, and failed western-trained armies supplied it with captured tanks, Humvees and explosives."

Not at all defending ISIS, but then, if ISIS is to be blamed, countries, banks and all the organizations (embedded in the Western world) funding ISIS and providing/selling weapons to these terrorist groups are to be equally blamed.

@Conchita,

Be careful when you blame Islam or Muslims for the crimes carried out by a few group of so called Muslims, who have killed all those it considers to be heathens or apostates which include Shia Muslims, Sufi Muslims, alwites, Yazidis, Christians and secularists. Remember, it’s the Muslims within the Muslim world and beyond the Muslim world (target of Islamophobia) who are the worst victims. Based on the statistics, the number of Muslims who have been killed by the suicide attacks (in Iraq, Syria, Beirut, Yemen......) is higher than the people belonging to any other groups. Also, be careful to distinguish ‘Islam as a religious faith’ from ‘Islam as a political ideology’ (which is anything, but Islamic).

We’ve had enough of hatred! So, why spread more hatred? There’s no justification to killing of any innocent or innocents, whether it’s in Iraq, Syria, Beirut, or in Paris or any other parts of the world. 700,000 deaths in Iraq alone following Iraq Invasion ( and, failed to find the weapon of mass destruction) and what sane mind would expect the bereaved families of the innocent victims not to breed hatred for the ones responsible for the war crime or say genocide?

Chaser....

Did a little checking on your 700,000 deaths in Iraq. I found that the number you show is based on a survey. The Associated Press shows 110,600 violent deaths occurred with most by car bombs. The Lancet Survey shows 600,000, the Opinion Research Business Survey shows 1,000,000. You can find numerous surveys or other research and they all have huge swings depending on the political swing of the company or organization.

"What you gonna do?" Chop my head off?" Seriously??? Where did these come from????
I hope I am not talking to a nursery kid.

And, sorry! I don't understand your language of hatred and threat! And, moreover, I don't take pleasure in someone's pain. It's not in my blood! But then, for you, I can say only one thing that there is no remedy to ignorance and hatred! By the way, your head is precious (leaving you hatred filled brain) so take care of it

@David, I shall consider what you wrote and do the checking myself. Thanks!

In recent years, due to more openness in the media, several Roman Catholic priests have been charged in the courts of law around the globe with sexual exploitation of children, with minors and engaging in sexual acts,,,,they have been charged as sexual phedofiles,

Is every Roman Catholic man a child sexual predator ????
