chronology: Depends on what you mean by 'Euro American' traditionally 'Western Civilisation' has been based on core values found in the Jewish and Christian Religion, and in the Culture of Ancient Greece and Rome, this 'is' what the 'West' has always been.

Folks in places like Kentucky will often share core values with people in Toledo Spain because they have a shared heritage of Christianity and may have read books by Homer and learned the stories of Julius Caesar and Cleopatra.

The West has drifted far from it's roots, there is no doubt about that, but the roots are still in the ground, old, neglected and not often watered.

junyabee: Good point. To clarify mine, I'd say the Post Napoleon-I tradition, particularly economic of seeking resources, markets and labor to exploit. As technology has become more democratized world-wide, others are seeking the same indulgence for themselves that the euro-American cultures and society demonstrated in the 19th & 20th Century
