Fog Swept Glade: John Fitzgerald Kennedy despite the drafts. LBJ did a great job too. Still hard to give so strongly afar and expect roses at home.
MatureLionheart: JFK, despite his faults, LBJ tried to do too much (Good: got JFK's voting rights act past. Bad: Vietnamese War and Great Society), and Obama was a big disappointment.
chronology: Mr Kennedy will always remain an enigma in American history. There is a growing number of people who consider his so called 'assassination' a hoax, but no one can explain a hoax by who or to what purpose. LBJ had a radically different approach to Vietnam than JFK. He believed a massive show of support for South Vietnam with a huge build up of American ground troops would faze The Northern Vietnam Government into accepting the independent South Vietnam. JFK was committed to a cautious approach of military Aid and American Advisor's. But we now know JFKs policy would never have succeeded. Hanoi had no intention of ever accepting an Independent South. LBJ in some ways had only two options, walk away or make a stand. He chose to stand. Hanoi chose to refuse to allow Saigon to be Independent.
