Why can't Muslims Take Criticism? (Page 202)

Zanjan
Zanjan: When people disagree on a matter so much that it can't be settled, they need a mediator. God sends the Perfect Mediator so, the disputing parties should turn to Him for understanding. He is the Tree of Life; the leaves are the souls who've clung to Him. He resolved this issue.

"The Garden" is the heaven of God's Faith, in the spiritual paradise of nearness to God.

It never disappeared and has remained pristine because it has guards at its gates. The "Gates" are its Heralds and will open to those who are willing to walk the straight path. If the guardians detect the slightest hint of impurity, they will bar the prospective visitor.

From the Baha'i Faith:

“At the gate of the garden, some stand and look within, but do not care to enter. Others step inside, behold its beauty, but do not penetrate far. Still others encircle this garden, inhaling the fragrance of the flowers; and having enjoyed its full beauty, pass out again by the same gate. But there are always some who enter, and becoming intoxicated with the splendor of what they behold, remain for life to tend the garden."

ghostgeek: Zanjan, you posted something along these lines: "However, as long as the sheep stand in the presence of the Divine Shepherd, they'll be safe." Does that apply to Baha'is in Iran?

ghostgeek: Once the present revolutionary regime seized power, the Shi'ih clergy undertook to rid Iran of every trace of the Baha'i religion. Squads of gunmen descended on Baha'i national headquarters in Tehran and began a careful study of the files and membership lists. At the same time, a virulent campaign of anti-Baha'i propaganda was undertaken in the form of denunciations from pulpits, articles in the press, and graffiti. Baha'is were denounced as "heretics," "enemies- of Islam," "corrupt on earth," and (a charge of breath-taking audacity in view of the source) "collaborators with the Shah's regime." The effect was to unleash waves of attacks on the Baha'is and their property throughout the country. Members of the Faith were beaten up and in several instances killed, many business were confiscated or destroyed, hundreds of houses burned, and efforts made to force believers to recant their Faith.

Fractured fairy tale:

The grave of Ahmad Shah Massoud is believed to have been vandalised by Taliban celebrants as footage shows them proudly standing over smashed glass in the mausoleum dedicated to the former military leader.

The vandalism of the tomb came days after the Taliban declared victory over the province of Panjshir, the final area which had remained outside their rule.

Zanjan: Ghost: "Does that apply to Baha'is in Iran?"

Absolutely.
I realize you think you're safe but, from what? You could walk outside your door and get run over by a truck - what an inglorious way to die!

There's no safety except in God. As long as these souls cling to Him, they're incorruptible. None have recanted their faith; no threat or hardship can weaken them. Your article is correct. Despite 175 years of ongoing deadly persecution, the Baha'i Faith is the largest religious minority in Iran; plus, this religion has spread all over the world.

I don’t know why that made me grin. Look both ways before exiting your house, Ghost. Death is bad already, to to have an inglorious death is the worse.

ghostgeek: As for there being no safety except in God, it seems He offers scant protection for true believers. In the Middle Ages, between 1347 and 1351, the Black Death ravaged Europe. What's truly remarkable is that it was the monastic communities in towns that provided the highest incidence of victims.

Zanjan: When people discovered rat cooties had infested the water wells, they were able to end the plague. Like any plague, they survived because they took special precautions to avoid contamination. Nostradamus was one of them. Maybe he saw that coming, eh.

ghostgeek: One thing is certain, people did things differently in the past.

Centuries later, smallpox became the first virus epidemic to be ended by a vaccine. In the late 18th-century, a British doctor named Edward Jenner discovered that milkmaids infected with a milder virus called cowpox seemed immune to smallpox. Jenner famously inoculated his gardener’s 8-year-old son with cowpox and then exposed him to the smallpox virus with no ill effect.

Imagine trying that trick with an eight year old today.

Zanjan: Ghost: "They foam at the mouth and insist everyone believes as they do."

Seems to me that's what Atheists do. They can't hold a conversation about such things or handle different perspectives without going off the deep end. Overall, they forbid others to mention God. It's best they pretend they're not home when the door-knockers come around because they can't resist spitting in their face.

By the way, Muslims make no effort to recruit anyone anywhere. You have to beg them to tell you about their religion; even then, they'd rather not - they'll refer you to a presenter who is always, hands down, way, way better than any Christian presenter.

ghostgeek: Funny you should mention door-knockers, Zanjan, because they used to be a plague but haven't been around in years. Perhaps they got the message that people just weren't interested in talking about God, or maybe some atheists roasted them over an open fire.
