Why can't Muslims Take Criticism? (Page 146)

Blackshoes: Then you didn't bother reading George Washington's farewell address.

‘Reason and experience,’ said George Washington in his Farewell Address, ‘both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle. And it is substantially true, that virtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government.’

Blackshoes: The Consitution doesn't say that! It states that Religion shall not be instituted nor deny by said Government

In fact, the Constitution refers to religion only twice in the First Amendment, which bars laws "respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," and in Article VI, which prohibits "religious tests" for public office.

Blackshoes: Actually, The left takes that to mean that Religion and Government should never mix. However mixing morals and religious virtue within Governments does not constitute the establishment of any faith.

Blackshoes: Matthew 5:22

5:22. But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Mattew 7:1

7:1. Judge not, that ye be not judged.

7:2. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

1 Corinthians 4:5

4:5. Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

Zanjan: Shoes wrote: "in Article VI, which prohibits "religious tests" for public office."

Absolutely - nobody wants to see which politicians can or can't float wearing cement shoes. That takes all the fun out of congressional slagging and the impeachment process.

Throughout history, God's chosen political system was a monarchy. England taught us there are ways around that - secretly kill the nearest heirs, even if they're still children. We don't see that with Muslim monarchies; in fact, their list of princes is so long, they wouldn't be well off unless they received oil royalties.

The world has changed so the power is now in the hands of the people. However, the laws are still in the hands of the rulers. This is by God's design.......nothing is unless He ordains it. No one has any power unless God has given it to them.

Humanity isn't used to their new-found powers yet so all man-made systems need more refinement in design. Neglecting to improve their systems is to their own peril.

Blackshoes: That seems rather naive. Leaders have often mucked up and wasted the lives of their subjects' throughout history due to their Greed for Power, Glory, and gold.
Nor does it really matter whether elected, forced, or appointed into office?
