JFK 50 years and still people believe conspiracies. (Page 3)

davesdatahut: Amid all the conspiracy theories - the mob did it, Communists did it, the Russians did it, Johnson did it, the Secret Service did it, the Cat in the Hat did it, Max the Clown did it - here is another mystifying question. How come the Kennedys, with ALL their vast financial and political resources, were not able to get to the bottom of it? They had enough money and clout to get a president elected! You would think they would be able to the marshal the resources needed to find out who killed John, the two government probes notwithstanding.
Or were they in on it, too?

lori100: Kennedy Assassination

– the 2nd Investigation by Congress Few People Know About, United States House of Representatives Select Committee on Assassinations (HSCA): The HSCA was established in 1976 to investigate the John F. Kennedy assassination and the Martin Luther King, Jr. assassination. The Committee investigated until 1978, and in 1979 issued its final report, concluding that President John F. Kennedy was probably assassinated by a conspiracy involving the mob, and potentially the CIA. The House Select Committee on Assassinations undertook reinvestigations of the murders of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr. In 1979, a single Report and twelve volumes of appendices on each assassination were published by the Congress. In the JFK case, the HSCA found that there was a “probable conspiracy,” though it was unable to determine the nature of that conspiracy or its other participants (besides Oswald). This finding was based in part on acoustics evidence from a tape purported to record the shots, but was also based on other evidence including an investigation of Ruby’s mafia connections and potential CIA and/or FBI connections to Oswald. To this day, many conspiracy deniers are unaware that the Congressional investigation into JFK’s assassination concluded beyond any shadow of a doubt that it was a conspiracy.-------------- What made them come to this conclusion? Aside from reading the report, many witnesses (some of whom were CIA agents and station chiefs in Dallas that morning) were killed the night before testifying. For example, George de Mohrenschildt was a petroleum geologist who befriended Lee Harvey Oswald during the months preceding the assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy. He also worked for the CIA. He also blew his brains out the night before he was to testify to the committee. The committee also uncovered, among many things, that Oswald left the marines where he learned how to speak fluent Russian (at the height of the cold war). He was given money by the State Department to travel to Russia where he stopped off in Japan at a top secret US Military facility. The Warren Commission even mentioned this part.------- What most people do not know is that he probably was working in the Cold War infiltrating the Russians as either a “dangle,” “double agent,” or “defector” of some kind. What is interesting is that upon his return he got more money from the State Department to buy a house and work with an ex FBI Chief and CIA officials in training anti-Castro Cubans for an invasion. In Louisiana, where he was working, the CIA was involved in Operation Mongoose, Where Oswald worked under CIA Agent David Ferrie, who killed himself before testifying in a trial on the Assassination as well. Operation Mongoose worked closely with Southern Mafia figures largely because the casinos in Cuba, which were shut down after Fidel obtained control over the country, were epicenters for control on the island.

duncan124:
That is enough for it to be a conspiracy.

Conspirators know that after so long or so many people all agreeing on bad things some of them will act on what it is they want.

Germany is famous for it.

Another strange fact is that people who shoot famous politians are swayed by the finacial situation of the victim.

Reagan was shot at more often when he was perceived as having the funds he wanted for his party while Kennedy era Democrats were shot at more often when they were seen as short of money.

chronology: Lori. I have read the second Congressional Report on JFKs death, yes they do, like you, think there was a 'conspiracy' but like you, their reason for thinking there was a conspiracy was simply because they thought there was one. They had no proof at all of any conspiracy. As one commentator said; 'they just cobbled together speculation and then piled more speculation on top of that and came up with Jack Ruby being a Mob 'Hit Man'. If Ruby was a Mob Hit Man why did he not shot Oswald on the five or so occasions he could have before the day he flipped and killed him'.

Other people say he was just 'acting out' being nuts to receive easier conditions from Texas Prison Governors. When he was not slamming his head into walls, he was sticking his fingers into light sockets and trying to electrocute himself.

An example is the Irish ghetto in NY which Kennedy said he would help. They had at least two problems one was they were being taxed by the mob and the other they were having any means of income taken off them too.

Kennedy stopped them losing their jobs.

Kennedy afterwards made a speech saying now everybody could achieve something !!

After that the vice president separated himself from Kennedy.

Kennedy had said lots of things which had got him noticed and the idea is that the 'Southern Poor' charity thing had promoted that problem as a test or because it was sponsored to.

There was still a lot of Germans left from the war who made it clear that they would carry on stealing from the rest of Europe which they did.

And his sexual activity was inconsistent with no secrecy or being ' up right ' about things. His pictures with his wife were not sending the message he might have expected.

chronology: Mr Ruby was indeed an eccentric person who had many elliptical friendships. But consider the Mafia in history. What the Mafia detest more than anything is any kind of publicity good or bad, it is more likely an unstable impulsive man like Ruby acted for his own deranged reasons than the Mafia ordered him to kill Oswald. True a Mafia man did visit Ruby when he was arrested, but that was probably out of regards for an old associate rather than any 'conspiracy', remember, the Mafia detest 'any and all publicity'. One of the biggest contributors to catholic hospitals is said to be the Mafia, why do you never hear this? because they, as said, detest publicity. The visit to Ruby was more in line with their show of respect to a troubled friend than anything els. The Mafia places high regard to traditional rituals like visiting the sick and attending church services etc.

chronology: 'Silencing' Oswald would not seem to be Ruby's motive dhasty1949. Stop and think, if it was so important to kill Oswald, why did Jack not shoot him days earlier? he had ample opportunity, Jack is on film near Oswald in the days before he shot him. No, acting as an 'assassin' does not seem to be Jack's motive. Dallas Police Officers knew Ruby well, he had an interesting pastime. He would hold drunken men up against a wall when they were helpless with alcohol, then slowly and systematically beat them even more senseless with his fists. Jacky boy was a sadist and coward. Seeing Oswald handcuffed and helpless in front of him was just too tempting a target for Jack, even punching the teeth out of defenseless drunks was not as much of a kick to Jack as blasting a gun into Oswald's stomach. Again, not conspiracy, just another outsider folks in the Lone Star State wish would never have made his home there.

chronology: dhasty1949 You are absolutely correct. But would it help to consider the situation Dallas PD were in? They were exhausted after days of nonstop work without sleep and dealing with an avalanche of News reporters from around the world, a brother Officer had also been murdered and State and Federal Agencies were calling them round the clock for updates and asking all kinds of questions, throw into the mix the fact that they had had the body of JFK removed to Washington hours after shooting, and the crime scene (the Limo) had been destroyed, they were now going to have to bring in more legal experts to plan a legal case they could build against Oswald, some people were saying they never had a case anymore against Oswald, it was not that he was 'innocent' it was that that normal evidence against the accused had been destroyed.

U.S. State and Federal Agencies behave differently now. Tim McVeigh was wearing a Flack Jacket and surrounded by dozens of FBI Officers and moved to another State when he was moved to Court, the Boston man accused of the bombings will also have similar protection.

Dallas PD did a great job, but they were the first to face such a historic situation. There is also the myth that Dallas PD never took any notes when questioning Oswald. Oswald was heard being questioned by Detectives to say; 'I already answered that question, you have my answer in your notes'. It is obvious the notes have been sealed like other evidence in the case to protect the Rights of people mentioned in the questioning.

Sorry dhasty1949, but there is nothing 'suspicious' about Oswald's death.
