Obama appoints another Hollywood figure as Ambassador. :S (Page 2)

OCD_OCD: Sure. They may have skills and intelligence. That is a given, but the fact that they are celebrities doesn't mean that they have any other capabilities. Gawd, look at Snookie and lohan and paris Hilton, Kanye West, the Kardashians....dumb as splintered posts, they are.

OCD_OCD: Obama would choose JayZ or Beyonce before them. LOL

OCD_OCD: Because they like him and he likes celebrities who follow his lead.

OCD_OCD: It is the whole Hollywood connection that I find disconcerting.

OCD_OCD: I would.

OCD_OCD: Sean Penn, Oprah, Alicia keyes, Bon Jovi, Samuel Jackson, Will ferrell...and many more hve been called upon to either get him elected or to promote his policies.

OCD_OCD: True, but when they use their celebrity to push a political agenda, I feel like that is manipulative.

OCD_OCD: Everyone does, but celebrities are not known for being bastions of reason in their lives or their politics.

chronology: Aww come on OCD you are just being mean. A while back many teenagers in Iran kept pictures of their favourite 'Twilight Saga' Stars on their Cell phones, risking being flogged for doing so. And in Nazi Germany many folks also kept secret pictures of banned Hollywood Stars despite risking being sent to Labour Camps for doing so. May sound crazy today but you could be sent to a Labour Camp just for listening to Jazz music in Germany back then. It is touching the loyalty shown to Stars in Hollywood by folks in pretty tough political systems. It is no wonder Washington sometimes calls on some of them to work as Ambassadors.
