Do you Trust your Government?

Why not? - On a personal level, I am very slow to trust. Trust is a gift and I do not know my government. I do not know the true character of each individual.

Politicians have shown themselves to be untrustworthy. The way I think, is that a measure of cautiousness is necessary to keep them in check. I'm not seeing why I should trust my government (or any other government). Is trust necessary? How will trusting my government be beneficial? I shouldn't have to rely on 'trust', I should have to rely on what they do, their actions and criticise or commend any government based on their actions and policies.

Steve02: I don't trust the current Australian Government, not with Tony Abbott as prime minster, their is just something about him which I don't trust.
