the us`s shame

Another refugee, Abu Sabah, an older man in a torn shirt and dusty pants, told of how he escaped with his family, just the day before, while soldiers shot bullets over their heads, killing his cousin. "They used these weird bombs that first put up smoke in a cloud, and then small pieces fell from the air with long tails of smoke behind them. These exploded on the ground with large fires that burned for half an hour. They used these near the train tracks. When anyone touched those fires, their body burned for hours."

This was the first time I had heard a refugee describing the use of white phosphorous incendiary weapons by the US military, fired from artillery into Fallujah. Though it is not technically a banned weapon, it is a violation of the Geneva Conventions to use white phosphorous in an area where civilians may be hit. I heard similar descriptions in the coming days and weeks, both from refugees and doctors who had fled the city.

Several doctors I interviewed had told me they had been instructed by the interim government not to speak to any journalists about the patients they were receiving from Fallujah. A few of them told me they had even been instructed by the Shia-controlled Ministry of Health not to accept patients from Fallujah.

That night I interviewed a spokesman for the Iraq Red Crescent, who told me none of their relief teams had been allowed into Fallujah, and the military said it would be at least two more weeks before any refugees would be allowed back into their city. Collecting information from doctors in the city, he had estimated that at least 800 civilians had been killed so far in the siege.

The second assault on Fallujah was a monument to brutality and atrocity made in the United States of America. Like the Spanish city of Guernica during the 1930s, and Grozny in the 1990s, Fallujah is our monument of excess and overkill. It was soon to become, even for many in the US military, a textbook case of the wrong way to handle a resistance movement. Another case of winning the battle and losing the war.

dave3974: THE INDEPENDENT on us war crimes in falluja

Powerful new evidence emerged yesterday that the United States dropped massive quantities of white phosphorus on the Iraqi city of Fallujah during the attack on the city in November 2004, killing insurgents and civilians with the appalling burns that are the signature of this weapon.

Ever since the assault, which went unreported by any Western journalists, rumours have swirled that the Americans used chemical weapons on the city.

On 10 November last year, the Islam Online website wrote: "US troops are reportedly using chemical weapons and poisonous gas in its large-scale offensive on the Iraqi resistance bastion of Fallujah, a grim reminder of Saddam Hussein's alleged gassing of the Kurds in 1988."

The website quoted insurgent sources as saying: "The US occupation troops are gassing resistance fighters and confronting them with internationally banned chemical weapons."

In December the US government formally denied the reports, describing them as "widespread myths". "Some news accounts have claimed that US forces have used 'outlawed' phosphorus shells in Fallujah," the USinfo website said. "Phosphorus shells are not outlawed. US forces have used them very sparingly in Fallujah, for illumination purposes.

"They were fired into the air to illuminate enemy positions at night, not at enemy fighters."

But now new information has surfaced, including hideous photographs and videos and interviews with American soldiers who took part in the Fallujah attack, which provides graphic proof that phosphorus shells were widely deployed in the city as a weapon.

In a documentary to be broadcast by RAI, the Italian state broadcaster, this morning, a former American soldier who fought at Fallujah says: "I heard the order to pay attention because they were going to use white phosphorus on Fallujah. In military jargon it's known as Willy Pete.

"Phosphorus burns bodies, in fact it melts the flesh all the way down to the bone ... I saw the burned bodies of women and children. Phosphorus explodes and forms a cloud. Anyone within a radius of 150 metres is done for."

Photographs on the website of RaiTG24, the broadcaster's 24-hours news channel, www.rainews24.it, show exactly what the former soldier means. Provided by the Studies Centre of Human Rights in Fallujah, dozens of high-quality, colour close-ups show bodies of Fallujah residents, some still in their beds, whose clothes remain largely intact but whose skin has been dissolved or caramelised or turned the consistency of leather by the shells.

A biologist in Fallujah, Mohamad Tareq, interviewed for the film, says: "A rain of fire fell on the city, the people struck by this multi-coloured substance started to burn, we found people dead with strange wounds, the bodies burned but the clothes intact."

The documentary, entitled Fallujah: the Hidden Massacre, also provides what it claims is clinching evidence that incendiary bombs known as Mark 77, a new, improved form of napalm, was used in the attack on Fallujah, in breach of the UN Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons of 1980, which only allows its use against military targets.

Meanwhile, five US soldiers from the elite 75th Ranger Regiment have been charged with kicking and punching detainees in Iraq.

The news came as a suicide

dave, you already know the answer; 'The Insurgents chose to arrange the Battle of Fallujah in that Town among the people there, the U.S. Military had no interest in fighting any Battle there'.

dave, you already know there was no need at all for any fighting in Fallujah, the War was over, Iraq was liberated, so why did the Insurgents gather there to compel the U.S. to liberate the Town for the Iraqi Government? why all the needless deaths? If the WP was such a 'death weapon' as you claim, why did the U.S. Army fire the shells over the heads of their own men? because it was not a 'death weapon', it was simply used to provide cover smoke.

According to Geneva Convention Rules, any deaths of civilians in such circumstances is entirely the responsibility of the fighters who place themselves among those civilians, which is exactly what the Insurgents did.

Sorry dave, 'epic fail'; the responsibility for deaths and property loss in Fallujah is 100pc that of the Insurgents. The U.S. Army and Marines were like Rescue Workers saving people from a disaster zone.

Let us look at the remark you just carelessly threw about; 'the Geneva Convention does not allow the indiscriminate killing of civilians'. Dave, are you accusing the U.S. of 'indiscriminately killing civilians'? The U.S. Army and Marines 'did' try all they could to avoid civilian casualties when fighting the Insurgents who had specifically placed them in danger by hiding amongst them, and crawling like Apes and Monkeys between civilian homes.

Dave, may I repeat what I just typed? 'American boys 'did' try all they could to avoid civilian casualties when fighting Insurgents WHO HAD SPECIFICALLY HIDDEN AMONG CIVILIANS, PLACING THEM IN EXTREME DANGER.

Dave, the Insurgents chose the battleground, a battleground they placed smash mouthed in the homes and schools of civilians. The Insurgents refused American Peace Offers, the Insurgents fought pointless Battle, a battle that achieved nothing but their complete defeat.

Wireclubbers know who is 100pc responsible for the deaths and destruction at Fallujah, and it is not the U.S. it was the Insurgents who gathered there and incited death and destruction.

lori100: 8. The U.S. Military Littered Iraq with Toxic Depleted Uranium in 2003 -----------In Iraq, the U.S. military has littered the environment with thousands of tons of munitions made from depleted uranium, a toxic and radioactive nuclear waste product. As a result, more than half of babies born in Fallujah from 2007 - 2010 were born with birth defects. Some of these defects have never been seen before outside of textbooks with photos of babies born near nuclear tests in the Pacific. Cancer and infant mortality have also seen a dramatic rise in Iraq. According to Christopher Busby, the Scientific Secretary of the European Committee on Radiation Risk, "These are weapons which have absolutely destroyed the genetic integrity of the population of Iraq." After authoring two of four reports published in 2012 on the health crisis in Iraq, Busby described Fallujah as having, "the highest rate of genetic damage in any population ever studied."---------------------------9. The U.S. Military Killed Hundreds of Thousands of Japanese Civilians with Napalm from 1944 - 1945 ---------

Napalm is a sticky and highly flammable gel which has been used as a weapon of terror by the U.S. military. In 1980, the UN declared the use of napalm on swaths of civilian population a war crime. That's exactly what the U.S. military did in World War II, dropping enough napalm in one bombing raid on Tokyo to burn 100,000 people to death, injure a million more, and leave a million without homes in the single deadliest air raid of World War II.

10. The U.S. Government Dropped Nuclear Bombs on Two Japanese Cities in 1945 ---------------------Although nuclear bombs may not be considered chemical weapons, I believe we can agree they belong to the same category. They certainly disperse an awful lot of deadly radioactive chemicals. They are every bit as horrifying as chemical weapons if not more, and by their very nature, suitable for only one purpose: wiping out an entire city full of civilians. It seems odd that the only regime to ever use one of these weapons of terror on other human beings has busied itself with the pretense of keeping the world safe from dangerous weapons in the hands of dangerous governments.

W BUSH

William Colby
This former CIA director disappeared in an apparent boating accident, and a body was later discovered (minus the life jacket Colby’s friends insisted he always wore while boating) and buried promptly. John DeCamp, a lawyer from Lincoln, Nebraska, and Colby’s close friend and confidant, said Colby’s death was not an accident. He stated that Colby was prepared to disclose that missing P.O.W.’s were working for a dope smuggling operation orchestrated by Richard Armitage, and George H. W. Bush.

William Casey
William Casey was CIA Director during the Reagan/Bush Administration. He died 2 days before he was to testify about his and others’ involvement in the Iran/Contra scandal.

Don Aronow
He was a close friend of George H. W. Bush. According to the book “George Bush, the Unauthorized Biography,” there is compelling evidence to conclude that Aronow was a drug smuggler and suspected drug-money launderer. He was murdered by professional killers on February 3, 1987. In the days before his death, he made many personal calls to George H. W. Bush.

Danny Casolaro
He was working on a book that tied together the scandals surrounding the presidency of George H. W. Bush. He told his friends he was going to “bring back” the head of the Octopus regarding the US Justice Department’s destruction of Inslaw Inc. and the theft of its Promis software created by the firm. Instead, his body was found in a hotel in Martinsburg, WV on August 10, 1991. He was in a bathtub with both wrists slashed, a total of TWELVE times. The cleaning lady, who discovered his body said, “There was blood all over”. Interestingly, she also noted that someone had mopped up his blood on the bathroom floor with a towel. Authorities & family searched his hotel room, car and home, in an effort to find his manuscript and briefcase. Neither was ever found. His body was embalmed illegally, without his family’s consent, making an autopsy inconclusive. Video here & here

Mark Lombardi
He charted the complex matrices of personal and professional relationships, conflict of interest, malfeasance and fraud uncovered by investigations into the Bush administration’s financial and political scandals. On the evening of March 22, 2000, Mark Lombardi was found hanging in his loft, an apparent suicide.

G W BUSH
Paul Wellstone & family
Need we say more.

James Hatfield
Mr. Hatfield was the author of Fortunate Son, an unauthorized biography of George W. Bush. The book detailed Bush’s cocaine use and cover up of a cocaine arrest. He was found Wednesday, July 18, 2001 in a motel room, an apparent suicide.

Lt. Colonel William Harris, Jr.
Harris was one of two commanding officers who could not perform George W. Bush’s annual evaluation covering the year from May 1, 1972 to April 30, 1973. They stated in their filing that “Lt. Bush has not been observed at this unit during the period of this report.” Fortunately for George W. Bush, Lt. Col. Harris is not here to verify his 1973 statement. He’s dead.

Lt. Colonel Jerry B. Killian
Killian was another of George W. Bush’s commanding officers. He cannot testify in a court of law as to George W. Bush’s dereliction of his sworn duty. Lt. Col. Killian is dead.James Downing Aalund Mr. Aalund’s name is the first on a long list of young Texans who died in Vietnam. These young men did not have influential fathers to pull the strings necessary to get them into the Texas Air National Guard. If they had been so lucky, they would surely have fulfilled their responsibilities to the ANG, if only out of gratitude that they did not have to die, thousands of miles away in a strange land. They surely would not have disappeared from duty for over a year, as did our fearless leader George W. Bush.

Governor Mel Carnahan
In the midst of a heated race for the Senate against John Ashcroft, the Governor died in a plane crash on October 16, 2000. His death affected Democrats in two ways – it would hurt their chances of seizing control of the US Senate, and it would strongly impact the Presidential race between Al Gore and George W. Bush.

Lori Klausutis
Lori Klausutis, age 28, was found dead behind a desk in the offices of US Representative Joe Scarborough of Florida, a Republican, on July 20, 2001. Death was apparently due to a blow on the head. Claims that a heart condition precipitated an accidental fall are tenuous at best; Lori was a marathon runner, and one would think that a heart condition would already have become apparent.

Dan Rocco
He died on April 1, 2002, in a plane crash in Gainesville, Georgia. He was an executive vice president at ChoicePoint, the firm that gained infamy with their faulty “felons” list supplied to Katherine Harris during the 2000 election in Florida. As a result of this list, thousands of voters (mostly African-American voters) were wrongly identified as felons and purged from the rolls.

Bob Stevens
Mr. Stevens died of a mysterious case of anthrax. He worked as a photo editor for American Media, who owns the National Enquirer. The Bush family suffered enormous embarrassment at the hands of the Enquirer when they published a photo of daughter Jenna Bush, obviously intoxicated, cigarette in hand, cavorting on the floor with another drunken female.

Don C. Wiley
Dr. Wiley disappeared November 15, 2001 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was attending a two-day annual meeting of the scientific advisory board of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. His work on deadly diseases such as ebola and HIV raised fears of a terrorist kidnapping. Four hours later, his rental car was found on a bridge, raising the question of suicide, which his family vehemently refuted. Dr. Wiley was found a month later in the Mississipi River.

Salem bin Laden
In 1979 Bush business Arbusto Energy obtained financing from James Bath, a close family friend. Bath had extensive ties to BCCI and the bin Laden family. Bath was the sole U.S. business representative for Salem bin Laden, the brother of Osama bin Laden. It is well known in certain circles that the Arbusto money came straight from Salem bin Laden, although Bush denies it.

John O’Neill
He was Director of Counterterrorism at the New York offices of the F.B.I. until he resigned in August 2001. One of the world’s top experts on Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda, he grew to believe that “all the answers” regarding what they needed to destroy Al Qaeda lay in Saudi Arabia. However, starting in January 2001, Bush blocked all efforts by Mr. O’Neill to investigate Saudi ties to bin Laden. In the summer of 2001 O’Neill declared that the main obstacles to his investigation were U.S. oil interests. In late August, O’Neill quit the FBI and took a position as head of security for the World Trade Center. He died thier on his second day of work.

Katherine Smith
She had been implicated in February in a phony documents scheme said to be related to the September 11 hijackers. One day before she was due in court, she was incinerated in her car after having hit a utility pole. An investigation revealed that the crash was minor and was not the cause of the fire that burned Smith beyond recognition.

J. Clifford Baxter
Found dead in his car, shot in the head. Mr. Baxter was vice chairman of Enron Corp. when he resigned in May 2001. Enron has been hot copy lately with the revelation that they were the largest campaign contributors for George W. Bush. Was J. Clifford Baxter a potential witness to Bush foreknowledge of their wrongdoings? His death was ruled a suicide.

Dubya’s referred to him as ’Kenny Boy’ when Lay was Bush’s largest campaign contributor. After his indictment, this Enron C.E.O. suddenly became just ‘an acqauntanrtence’ of Dubya. Lay died of a heart attack after his conviction; about 3-months before he was to begin his life sentence in prison. His body cremated and the ashes buried in a secret location.

Since Lay died before exhausting his appeals, his conviction was abated. Precedent in the federal appellate court governing the district where Lay was indicted, indicates that abatement had to be automatically granted. When abatement occurs, the law views it as though he had never been indicted, tried and convicted.

Charles Dana Rice
He was the senior vice president and treasurer of El Paso Corp., an energy corporation swept up in the recent energy scandal. Two months after the “suicide” of Enron executive Clifford Baxter, in the midst of questions about the accounting practices of El Paso Corp., Charles Rice was found dead of a gunshot wound to the head. His death was ruled a suicide.

James Daniel Watkins
His body was found on December 1, 2001 in the Pike National Forest in Colorado, a gunshot wound to the head. Mr. Watkins was a consultant for Arthur Andersen, the accounting firm for Enron. He disappeared on November 13 after he left work. He was described as a devoted family man who always called home if he were going to be late. Officials initially said that the death was suspicious, but have changed their tune and have ruled his death a suicide.

Jake Horton
He was the senior ice-president of Gulf Power, a subsidiary of Southern Company, a cohort of Enron in the energy industry, and a major contributer to the Bush agenda. According to reporter Gregory Palast, Horton knew of the company’s appalling accounting practices, and “… had no doubt about its illegal campaign contributions to Florida politicans – he’d made the payments himself. In April of 1989 Horton decided to come clean with state officials, and reserved the company jet to go confront company officials. Ten minutes after takeoff the jet exploded.

Dr. David Kelly
Weapons expert Dr David Kelly reportedly told of “many dark actors playing games” in an email to a journalist hours before he was suicided. The words appeared to refer to officials at the Ministry of Defence and UK intelligence agencies with whom he had sparred over interpretations of weapons reports, according to the New York Times. Mrs. Kelly said she had no indication that her husband was contemplating suicide. He was found dead in a wooded area with his wrists slashed.

07/07/09 Update
WEAPONS inspector David Kelly was writing a book exposing highly damaging government secrets before his mysterious death. He was intending to reveal that he warned Prime Minister Tony Blair there were no weapons of mass destruction anywhere in Iraq weeks before the British and American invasion. He had several discussions with a publisher in Oxford and was seeking advice on how far he could go without breaking the law on secrets.

Following his death, his computers were seized and it is still not known if any rough draft was discovered by investigators and, if so, what happened to the material. Dr Kelly was also intending to lift the lid on a potentially bigger scandal, his own secret dealings in germ warfare with the apartheid regime in South Africa.

US television investigators have spent four years preparing a 90-minute documentary, Anthrax War, suggesting there is a global black market in anthrax and exposing the mystery suicides of five government germ warfare scientists from around the world.

He wanted his story to come out. Director Bob Coen said: ‘‘The deeper you look into the murky world of governments and germ warfare, the more worrying it becomes. We have proved there is a black market in anthrax. David Kelly was of particular interest to us because he was a world expert on anthrax and he was involved in some degree with assisting the secret germ warfare programme in apartheid South Africa.”

Dr Kelly was found dead in woods near his Oxfordshire home on July 17 2003. His apparent suicide came two days after he was interrogated in the Commons over his behind-the-scenes role in exposing the flaws in the sexed-up Number 10 dossier which justified Britain going to war with Iraq.

Conspiracy theorists have claimed he was murdered. British author Gordon Thomas said last night: ‘‘I knew David Kelly very well and he called me because he was working on a book. He told me he had warned Tony Blair there were no weapons of mass destruction. I advised him that as he had signed the Official Secrets Act life could get difficult for him. I gained the impression that he was prepared to take the flak as he wanted his story to come out.” Anthrax War will be screened privately in London on July 17, the sixth anniversary of Dr Kelly’s death.

Bush Family Babysitter
A babysitter for the family of Marvin Bush was found dead Monday night outside the family’s Fairfax County home, and police said that she had been crushed when her car rolled into her, pinning her between the vehicle and an outbuilding on the property.

Margie Schoedinger
This Texas woman filed a rape lawsuit against Duhbya in December 2002. She was suicided by gunshot on Sept. 22, 2003.

Michael Connell December 19, 2008
Founder of Ohio-based New Media Communications, which created campaign Web sites for Dubya and John McCain — died when his private plane crashed in Lake Township, Ohio. He was a Republican IT consultant who was set to testify in a case alleging GOP election tampering in Ohio

Connell was associated with GovTech, a firm he spun off from New Media Communications under his wife Heather Connell’s name. GovTech was hired by Ohio Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell to set up an election website a telection.sos.state.oh.us to present the 2004 presidential returns as they came in.

In November 2006, the media group ePlubibus Media discovered that election.sos.state.oh.us was hosted on the servers of a company in Chattanooga, TN called SmarTech, which also hosted a long list of Republican Internet domains. “Since early this decade, top Internet ‘gurus’ in Ohio have been coordinating web services with their GOP counterparts in Chattanooga, wiring up a major hub that in 2004, first served as a conduit for Ohio’s live election night results,” researchers at ePluribus Media wrote.

A few months after this revelation, when a scandal erupted surrounding the firing of US Attorneys for reasons of White House policy, other researchers found that the gwb43 domain used by members of the White House staff to evade freedom of information laws by sending emails outside of official White House channels was hosted on those same SmarTech servers.

Given that the Bush White House used SmarTech servers to send and receive email, the use of one of those servers in tabulating Ohio’s election returns has raised eyebrows. Ohio gave Bush the decisive margin in the Electoral College to secure his reelection in 2004.

“…I have reason to believe that the alternate accounts were used to communicate with US Attorneys involved in political prosecutions, like that of Don Siegelman,” said RAW STORY’s Investigative News Editor, Larisa Alexandrovna, on herpersonal blog Saturday morning. “This is what I have been working on to prove for over a year. In fact, it was through following the Siegelman-Rove trail that I found evidence leading to Connell. That is how I became aware of him. Mike was getting ready to talk. He was frightened.”

“Mr. Connell has confided that he was being threatened, something that his attorneys also told the judge in the Ohio election fraud case,” concluded Alexandrovna

lori100: Govt faking scenes again -----nbcnews----------Pentagon unit held 'phony' ceremonies for MIAs, using planes that can't fly-------------By Bill Dedman
Investigative Reporter, NBC News

HONOLULU — A unit of the U.S. Department of Defense has been holding so-called "arrival ceremonies" for seven years, with an honor guard carrying flag-draped coffins off of a cargo plane as though they held the remains of missing American service men and women returning that day from old battlefields.

After NBC News raised questions about the arrival ceremonies, the Pentagon acknowledged Wednesday that no honored dead were in fact arriving, and that the planes used in the ceremonies often couldn't even fly but were towed into position.

The solemn ceremonies at a military base in Hawaii are a sign of the nation's commitment to returning and identifying its fallen warriors. The ceremonies have been attended by veterans and families of MIAs, led to believe that they were witnessing the return of Americans killed in World War II, Vietnam and Korea.
The ceremonies also have been known, at least among some of the military and civilian staff here, as The Big Lie.

Photos behind the scenes show that the flag-draped boxes had not just arrived on military planes, but ended their day where they begin it: at the same lab where the human remains have been waiting for analysis.

The Pentagon insisted that the flag-draped cases do contain human remains recently recovered, just not ones that arrived that day. It said its staff "treat the remains with the utmost of care, attention, integrity, and above all, honor." The Pentagon statement did not explain why the rituals were called "arrival ceremonies" if no one was arriving, or why the public had been told that remains removed that morning from the lab were about to go to the lab to "begin the identification process." (Read the full Pentagon statement.)

From now on, the Pentagon said, the ceremonies will be re-branded as "honors ceremonies," expressly described as symbolic honors for bodies previously recovered.

"The name changed because they've already arrived, technically," said Army Staff Sgt. Andrew Smith, public affairs officer for the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command (JPAC), whose mission is to return and identify the 83,000 missing service men and women from World War II, Korea and Vietnam. The agency is identifying the dead at a rate of fewer than 80 per year, at a cost of more than $1 million per identification. Bodies now wait in the JPAC lab an average of 11 years before being identified, according to an internal report released this year.

What the audience sees
Here's what the public has seen at the ceremonies, usually held about four times a year.

A C-17 military transport aircraft was parked, its ramp down, outside hangar 35 at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. At precisely 9 a.m., after generals and other dignitaries were introduced, a military chaplain offered a prayer, the audience sang "The Star-Spangled Banner," and a Marine bugler played "Taps." Then a military honor guard in dress uniforms carried flag-draped transfer cases, which look like coffins, down the ramp and across in front of the audience. The cases were placed in the back of blue buses and driven away.

The emcee, reading from an official script, thanked the audience for "welcoming them home." The script continued, "After removal from the aircraft, the remains will be taken to the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command's Central Identification Laboratory. There, JPAC scientists will begin the identification process.

The Defense Department has used the arrival ceremonies as publicity tools, posting videos of the "arrival" on its website, on YouTube and on Facebook.
------------------'A very pissed-off citizen'
Jesse Baker, an Air Force veteran of World War II and Korea living in Honolulu, said he has been to more than 50 of these ceremonies. He told NBC News that he's always been under the impression that the plane had just arrived carrying recovered remains.

"If I have been fooled, I am going to be a very pissed-off citizen, because I've been going for years," Baker said. "And I know a lot of guys who are going to be pissed off. ... They're out there honoring warriors."

Baker tried to make sense of why America's Department of Defense would work so hard to trick him and other veterans. "That's disturbing. I don't know when they stopped being honest and switched over to this Mickey Mouse, but whoever did it, I hope they find him a new job somewhere."

One leading figure in the MIA/POW field said she has known for years about the charade.
---------After NBC News requested permission to attend an arrival ceremony in July, JPAC canceled the ceremony. It hasn't held any ceremonies since April, scheduling and canceling them repeatedly.

chronology: Again kind hearted Lori, even if you are a dash waspish in your Posts, I must add some balance to your Posts. If you visit a War Graves Cemetery for Commonwealth Servicemen in Turkey from WW1 you would probably be impressed at the neat and tidy Cemetery, the flowers, the little statues of Angels fluttering their wings. 'How lovely' you would say. But if you visited the Battlefields in Turkey, locals would probably tell you they still find skulls, jaw bones, leg and arm bones lying around; British? Australian? Turkish? no one knows, they just are there. No doubt someone has visited a grandpa's grave in the cemetery, while granddads skeleton is miles away under a road or something. The U.S. and Britain and Australia do the best they can to have as valid a ceremony as possible, but their main concern is to provide closure for relatives, that is all the Pentagon is doing, the very best they can. Really Lori dear, you are such a 'lemon' at times.

chronology: Conspiracy Theories do not usually involve Art so beautiful as 'September Morn', but the painting of a beautiful French girl bathing nude in the morning in a French Lake had moralists in 1913 U.S.A. positively red faced with indignation. Now comes the twist to the story. The owner of the Print Works which printed September Morn said he himself started the Public controversy in America to boost Sales, Prints flew off the Press at a dollar a Print of the lovely French Maid.

Now comes the twist to the story again, the Art Owner was talking BS about starting the controversy. The Public shock at September Morn began in Chicago, not New York where September Morn was Printed. It may seem puzzling what enthralled Americans about the French Girl bathing in morning sunlight in 1913, but September Morn had America bewitched in controversy for weeks.

lori100: This is why wars happen....they are created....---------------The Spanish American War: Remember the Maine

By the late 1800s, the United States was looking for an excuse to kick Spain out of Cuba. U.S. business was heavily invested in sugar, tobacco and iron on the Caribbean island.

The U.S.S. Maine was sent to Havana in January of 1898 to protect these business interests after a local insurrection broke out. Three weeks later, early on the morning of February 15, an explosion destroyed the forward third of the ship anchored in Havana’s harbor, killing more than 270 American sailors.

President McKinley blamed Spain after the U.S. Naval Court of Inquiry declared that a naval mine caused the explosion.

American newspapers blamed the Spanish despite a lack of evidence. “You furnish the pictures and I’ll furnish the war,” newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hearst told Frederic Remington after the illustrator reported that the situation in Cuba did not warrant invasion.

A number of historians and researchers later argued that the ship was blown up by the United States to provide a false flag pretext to invade Cuba and expel Spain.

The United States occupied Cuba from 1898 until 1902, although an amendment to a joint resolution of Congress forbid the U.S. to annex the country.

chronology: Lori. The tragic loss of 'The U.S.S. Maine' was not a 'False Flag'. Spain and the U.S. were both the dominant Political interests at the time in Cuba. An outbreak of public disorder in Cuba led to the U.S.S. Maine being dispatched to Cuba to protect Americans in the Islands. An onboard explosion on the Maine became the focus of lurid tabloid stories by William Randolph Hearst's newspapers. There is no evidence that the U.S. Government had any hand in the Public indignation whipped up by Hearst, who many Lawmakers in Washington saw as a reckless loose cannon. Eventually America and Spain came to blows over Cuba, but the Maine was not the cause of the fighting. Folks like Mr Hearst, Business interests in New York and friendly Congressmen often become a Lobby to promote particular issues, but they do not represent the U.S. Congress as a whole.
