That being said, only the perpetrators of that crime are to be blamed for it (most of which are dead and old). Not sure why it is far-fetch to believe that the Holocaust took place, there is deep evidence and many groups of person who suffered from it the majority being non-jews. To claim the event never occured at all disputes a lot of historical evidence. I literally have no issue with Germany or German people. Heck my ancestors traded slaves. Like I previously stated, I visit Germany twice a year and have never met a German citizen who denies the Holocaust occured. I also have never met a German, who I would blame for the event. And by and large they are some of the firendliest people I have ever had the pleasure to interact with. Truthfully, every person I have encountered who denies the Holocaust occured has been North American. I am sure there are people everywhere who believe this. My experience however tells me it is not a European thing to deny the Holocaust occured. Also, it seems most on this side of the pond are aware that those killed in the Holocaust were not just Jews. Even the most vile human on Earth deserves love and an individual can choose to love them. Loving someone has nothing to do with my regard to their life and actions. Love is about forgiveness, compassion and empathy. Loving is not always easy but it is entirely up to the one doing the loving and the one being loved has no say in if they are loved. You can no more make someone love you (sadly I have shamefully tried without success) than you can make someone not or cease to love you. The love they feel and give is up to them. There is not a Nation of people in this world I am uncappable of loving. As all Nations of people are just other humans. People who; feel, fear, love and hurt just like all others. Loving them is my choice not theirs. This may not apply to others and maybe others have trouble loving or do not even want to love. Love for me is not always something I easily do, but I have found it takes much more effort to distain a fellow human than love them. Sure it is easier to love Mandela or Gandhi than Hitler or Stalin but this does not mean the latter were unloved nor that they should have been or be unloved. After all we can recall that Gandhi wrote a humble letter encouraging and pleading with Hitler, a man he adressed as "friend" to put a stop to WWII and included that only Hitler could do so. The letter is kind, humble and in the utmost shows nothing but love. Gandhi, I am not but this does not mean I am incapable of loving as he did. Do I love everyone? Nope I am a work in process and still need to grow in maturity. But I have not a single doubt that I am capable of loving anyone and everyone. Will I get there? No way to know where a journey ends but my effort is to love everyone.
