Lori, I love that quote!! Us Brits should read more Steinbeck in school. A fabulous writer! I suppose the good thing about not reading him in school, is we can enjoy his works at our own leasure.

chronology: Lori dear, here we go again, you are building a hay stack from a strand of straw.

Reminds me of similar 911 'theories' about phone calls. Someone mentioned how the calls were out of sync. A passenger said they looked like they were flying over Ohio when the aircraft was flying into New York City, this proves' the aircraft was on the ground in a hanger, Huh? How the Dickens can you spin a simple mistake about where a Guy is in the sky into an aircraft being in a hanger. Another person noted a stewardess referred to the pilot being 'upstairs' they claim this meant the pilot was upstairs in a hanger, I mean for goodness sake, talk about twisting a word into a book, this is stretching a word into a volume collection.

Another 911 crazy theory is the fake TV pictures theory. Someone noticed a Guy involved with 911 also worked on programmes for Sports TV. When you see a Sports matches on TV you see advertisements on boards in the stadium, if you were in the stadium you would see no advertisements, it is a kind of 'Green screen effect' that is used in the movies. So this one Guy having worked for a company that provides such services suddenly becomes a master manipulator of every U.S. News channel churning out fake images on 911? Lori these are delusional ideas.

Bill is much loved by New Yorkers for his heroism on 911, but with all respect to Bill, he says some really way out stuff about 911. He even took Mr Bush to Court claiming he was behind 911, his case was thrown out because he had no evidence at all to present fit to be heard in Court.

Seismic machines in the area of New York noted no bomb blast at all, they did record the rumbling effects of the plane striking the building. Considerable waves of vibrations rolled through the WTC after the first strike for around 7 seconds, it is possible this is what Bill thought was a bomb.

Bill is a really nice Guy, despite his outrageous accusations, maybe he has PTSD?

No end of self styled experts make claims about bombs in the WTC, but professional experts with recorded data such as seismic machines say there is just no evidence for explosions.

chronology: Dave. Iraq was in it's death throws when America liberated the country in 2003. The American people could have left the country to be torn apart by rival local nations instead Uncle Sam leant a hand. Would there have been more suffering had America stayed out in 2003? Yes, we can only remember with respect and honour the Girls and Boys of America who layed down their lives. Dave it was not a 'stupid' war. Is a man stupid because he drowns trying to save a drowning child? Have some respect for good people. The Iraqi people know who their friends are, and the Pentagon is a better friend than the 'head choppers' of ISIS.

dave3974: The emergence of a bombshell memo setting out Tony Blair's private promises to the United States on Iraq calls into question the 'entire validity' of the Iraq Inquiry, critics warned last night.

Reg Keys, whose 20-year-old son Thomas was killed by an Iraqi mob in 2003, said it was extraordinary that inquiry chairman Sir John Chilcot appeared not to have known about the existence of a memo sent by former US Secretary of State Colin Powell in 2002.

The extraordinary memo, which was uncovered by the Mail on Sunday, revealed that Mr Powell told George Bush that 'Blair will be with us' on Iraq in March 2002, fully 12 months before the disastrous war started.

Deal: George Bush and Tony Blair shake hands following a summit in Thurmont, Maryland, in 2001. Relatives of those who died in action in Iraq have hit out at the 'treachery' and 'deceit' used by the former PM

At the time, Mr Blair still claimed he was pursuing a diplomatic solution, and that Iraq could avoid conflict if it handed over what turned out to be non-existent 'weapons of mass destruction'.

Mr Keys said: 'If Chilcot has not seen and does not take into account this email then I think it calls into question the entire validity of his inquiry.

'It obviously has an effect on some of his findings. The email is like a mini-Chilcot report in itself. Blair has agreed to go to war, it says he has offered to spin the case for war, and it says there was no post-conflict planning. What more is there to say?

'All Chilcot has to do is to expand on it. It has made me feel very angry. We have suspected it but now we know Blair misled Parliament and misled the country.'

Labour MP Paul Flynn said: 'If would be of great concern if this document has not been considered by Chilcot. It certainly doesn't fill me with confidence that the report – when we eventually see it – will get to the full truth.'

ghostgeek: I think that the roots of ISIS go back far beyond the invasion of Iraq by America. One could start with the foundation of the Muslim Brotherhood in Ismailia, Egypt, by Hassan al-Banna in March 1928, but even that is probably too late. No, I think the roots of the current Islamic terrorism can be traced back to the foundation of Wahhabism in Saudi Arabia by Muhammad ibn Abd al Wahhab, who died 1792.
