quarks:
Have any of you been to Europe and seen what the Nazi's did?
When they entered here, Holland and in Poland they mass murdered many peoples. The German units that found this one mass grave in Poland was this Russian who killed these or was this SS forces, those who did the mass killing?
Seems some here are making up history.

German soldiers say they were mistreated. What them say about the crimes they did occupying my country and others. Those in thread who feel sympathy for German soldier are far from the reality of what them did. We should not forget who started the war and who invaded peaceful neighbours and who killed these innocent civilian peaceful neighbours.

chronology: quarks. We need to remember the Jewish people were the primary victims of WW2 and we should never forget the loss and fear they suffered at that time. Yes there are many people with stories about Germany apart from Jewish people. In England we never stop hearing from people with sad stories from the Empire Days. Yes I know what you mean yes yes.

dave3974: MANY OF THE GERMAN SOLDIERS WERE JUST ORDINARY PEOPLE, if we want to claim to be superior we have a lot of crimes to cover up , the geneva convention was broken many times by the allies , many of them should have faced trial as well.
The Katyn forest massacre you refer to was a russian war crime , dresden was a british

Outbackjack: Atrocities were committed by all sides. We should never forget that.I don't harp on here about family members who fought and died against the Germans.Germany is a different country today and Fascism could have risen in Russia and Communism in Germany. Even Karl Marx himself was sure Germany would turn to Communism before anywhere else.

tohio4you: I recall in what were very few conversations my father discussed about his experiences during his service in the US Army during WW2.
He was stationed at the largest German prisoner of war camp in France. Do not recall the location. He stated the prisoners there actually feared that the German army would repatriate them, put them back on the battle field. He stated they were treated as humanly as was possible under wartime conditions.
They just wanted to go home to their families, as everyone else hoped for.

tohio4you: Why is it so important for these self righteous pussies, sitting on their fat butts and 2nd guess things that happened 70 years ago.
These mamby-pambys have never been in a world war situation, faced the dangers they faced, put under the extreme stress, life and death daily,
Find a country that has done more for humanity than the USA, move there.

chronology: Dave, am sure you would agree the various groups apposing the American support for South Vietnam were not exactly smart. Two choices 1 bide your time until tensions wind down, 2 engage in war the most powerful military the world has ever seen. They chose 2. Man that was not smart.
