US ambassador and 3 others killed at embassy in Libya by Islamists (Page 3)

jink88: U.S. Embassy in Yemen attacked this a.m. but no one could get into the actual facility. Broke down the gates and burned American flag. I fear this is going to go further with more violence and deaths.

Comrade_: ok mico88

You are right but I don't see how the militant ones will change their views and be more civilised about depictions, they may always be as this, the only thing I can think of, is if those who partake in an act; murdering/threatening, should be dealt with to send a message.

Thanks Lavendar!

OCD_OCD: We are familiar with jokes and alternative views of religions here, Coffrey. Some people would write articles, go on television and boycott the movies, but there would not be a massive upheaval and mass murders.

Coffrey: Well I just think back to the Chik-fil-a thing. What would those jesus freaks say if some Muslim, hell let's say he was Yemenese or something (a specific country) said Jesus was a gay, pro-abortion hippie who was against capitalism or something? I don't know, but it won't be a turn the other cheek kind of thing.

OCD_OCD: Coffrey, I didn't see any Christians running around killing people over the Chic-Fil-A thing, although you might want to mention the gay man who attacked and killed a security guard at the Family Research Council.

Nahhh, I think I'll mention the right wing Christian who killed George Tiller

OCD_OCD: You keep wanting to bring up hypotheticals that don't exist. What if, what if?

You are as guilty by calling people "Jesus freaks". People are allowed to believe and people are allowed not to believe. The "freaks" are people on either end of the fringe who feel like they have the right to smash other peoples' beliefs or non-beliefs.

You have no more right to call people "Jesus freaks" than a Christian would have the right to call you an "Athiest freak".

Associated Press

The latest report from the Associated Press says Bossil/Bacile/Bassile/Basseley is a pseudonym used by Nakoula Basseley Nakoula. The AP said other aliases included Nicola Bacily and Erwin Salameh.

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula has been identified by federal authorities as the filmmaker behind the anti-Islam film that sparked violent protests in Egypt and Libya, according to the Associated Press.

A Coptic Christian living in southern California, Nakoula was identified as the man behind "Innocence of Muslims," a film that insulted Islam and the Prophet Muhammad, leading to protests spreading across the Middle East, North Africa, and elsewhere.

OCD_OCD: Today, there is a small population of Coptic Christians remaining in Alexandria, but most are located elsewhere. Estimates of the current population of the Coptic Church range from 10 million to 60 million members worldwide. Theologically, Coptic Christianity is very similar to Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy. They profess to be genuine followers of Jesus Christ and a part of His worldwide Church. But, as with Catholicism, they tend to emphasize meritorious works in salvation along with liturgical ritual rather than salvation through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

OCD_OCD: “Coptic” means “Egyptian,” and Christians living in Egypt identify themselves as Coptic Christians. As a denomination they originated in the city of Alexandria, one of the most faithful, respected, and fruitful cities during the Apostolic Period. Proudly, the Coptic Christians acknowledge and herald John Mark, (author of the Gospel of Mark), as their founder and first bishop sometime between A.D. 42 - A.D. 62. The Coptic Church was actually involved in the very first major split in the Church, well before there was such a thing as "Roman" Catholicism, and it was also well before the East/West split.

Who knows...we'll find out in the next few days as they dig into this situation further.

More importantly...The radical Islamist's have opened a new 'front' and are in the attack mode. For the Navy to send warships with Marines on board into the Middle East, most likely for evacuation of US citizens, means they, the Pentagon is understanding that this 'situation' is going to get more serious. I think the Pentagon is not too happy with the politics of this administration. Why? Obama just said today about Egypt, ""I don't think that we would consider them an ally...". WTF? Wasn't he in support of them???? Now he does not consider them an ally???? Obama is out of control...of US foreign policy.
