OhNo it's easy to agree with you but just as easy to think of abandoned houses going unused while people freeze to death out there. These are homes that no longer belong to anyone, generally due to faulty banking, not houses with living owners, before firing off try and read what's been said thoroughly. There are lots of abandoned buildings and houses out here, if they could be put to use helping the disenfranchised as opposed to decaying into a health hazard and crumbling into the street. There are so many ways to look at the situation this is a couple melded together. Here's another: the biggest offenders of this are law enforcement, are they underpaid? is there some reason that they can't afford housing, and is there really no repercussion? One more, closest to home for me: they recently raided an abandoned house across the street and tossed out all homeless miscreants (not a generalization, i live across the street after all) and sealed it up, from what i could see from the outside the house was gutted and strewn with so much filth and garbage that under most conditions the homeless person would be better off outside the cesspool... the situation is pretty grim if i went from own to rent to squatting.
