Lora123: The Libyan rebels begged for help; they got it. Protest groups in Syria have requested that outsiders stay out of the situation inside their country. They're getting what they want.

David responds:

First, I started this thread with an article from the Associated Press regarding abuses of the Syrian government. Have you read it? Do you have any comments about it?

Second, I live in a country where free speech is cherished above all else so please, do not advise me to curb my right to speak.

Third, who the hell are you to tell me not to speak?

Fourth, I do speak about the US, Iraq, and Palestinian issues as well as Somalia, Israel, Egypt and numerous other countries.

Thank you.

Firstly Nellie, we know that life in Syria is going okay if that's what you trying to say . But if your trying to till me; that ever thing is going good then this's untrue. Maybe you live at rich side of Syria. Syria is a big county sure u haven't been to all of it. Also I'm an Arab I know how it feels to say I love this presented just to keep away from troubles.

please don't act spacial because you live at syria i have been there and I know many people there.

However, I know that American aim to get the benefit of Libyan and Iraq Oil. That's why I have believed they left the Syrian rebels getting killed just because they don't have oil.
All the West governments, had left them with few speech of how they condemned the act of killing the rebels .That shows the fake democracy that west has.

Lora123: Marhaba Emolia. Kafek?

In an earlier post, you said you're not worried about anything; the army will protect you. Honey, who is the army protecting you from? Other Syrians, that's who. Syrians who are not Alwi, who are tired of being second class citizens in their own country simply because they are Sunni.

Of course the girls from Lattakia say everything is OK in Syria. Living in that city, they are more than likely Alwi, the same minority sect of Islam as Bashir Al-Assad and everyone else running the country. You won't find posts here from anyone trying to survive in Homs or Hama. They are too busy hiding from tanks, snipers and helicopters to bother with wireclub.

A house divided against itself cannot stand. Alwi supremacy might not end this month or this year, but it will end during your lifetime. And it will not be a peaceful process.

nellie77: I hate it when religion comes into play, i really don't know why we have to identify someone by their religion or ethnicty,
Being a Suni does not make you more of a Syrian than a Alawi or a Christian, it is dangerous of talking of sunni majority and Allawi minority. The best person for the job should be the person that serves the WHOLE, rather than one religion against the other...

Lora123: I couldn't tell you what the religious beliefs are of Stephen Harper (the Prime Minister of Canada). And I don't care. I have no idea what Obama believes, or for that matter, any leader of any western nation. Religious beliefs are irrelevant; they serve no purpose in governing a nation. But when religious affiliation is used as a reason to decide "who gets what", then that system is doomed.

Syria has everything it needs to be a stable and wealthy nation. The only thing that Canada has that is missing in Syria is a good, honest government. Once the people of Syria achieve this, then they will be on their way to becoming the Switzerland of the middle east.
