China the sleeping dragon? Comrade_: I'm only speaking my mind, it's vague but if you disagree it's not a problem. China will have a much stronger economy than the U.S in a few few decades...not to forget the huge debts owing from the U.S. A loan shark? It's not bad to reason that soon China will be powerful in every way (military, economy, etc). When that happens, would the rules and norms change? to the western life and western conducts that will be strange and new? As the current western life is strange to some countries and is forced on them, they retaliate. If China becomes a new world power wouldn't they bring a new culture clash with the present 'culture'..when that happens would there be a retaliation too? FogofWar: China certainly does have the potential to overtake the US economy; and soon. It won't be the first time we have seen a communist superpower take the reigns; the USSR certainly tried. Communism spreads; it's in its nature. Even China has done this. If China rises to that level; you can be assured there will be more clashes than against the West now. Paulo: China started by the end.....we all are going in that direction very very fast...lol......read George Orwell then you will see....I think Hes some kind of Jules Verne ...but talking about the future of Politics and Society!!! davidk14: . We'll know soon...when China takes Taiwan over. At this point, Obama would hand it over without a shot being fired or a bad word being said. . davidk14: . Sixties, Sarah is not going to run for president. With that said, exactly which of her political beliefs do you not agree with? . FogofWar: I would say that her policy of standing by our North Korean allies is one that I don't agree with. LiptonCambell: Lol north korean allies Still, I doubt we have much to fear from China. They want what we want- the good life. And its achieved through ecconmic co-operation. I mean, sure, they could roll over one night and crush us in its sleep....but what would they have to gain? FogofWar: "But obviously, we've got to stand with our North Korean allies." --Sarah Palin, after being asked how she would handle the current hostilities between the two Koreas, interview on Glenn Beck's radio show, Nov. 24, 2010 China isn't a threat on its own; and I wouldn't be so sure that they could crush us so easily; but the business partners of China and Russia are factors as well. It wouldn't benefit China one bit to attack the US....but if the US cuts off Iran; then both China and Russia could be affected economically; causing more tension and backlash between the two sides of business. davidk14: . Obama said yesterday that Israel must go back to the 1967 borders. Today his press secretary said that is not what he meant. Obviously, Palin meant to say South Korea. . FogofWar: lol. I'm sure everyone was aware that she meant to say South Korea. I am just pointing to the fact that she is not exactly the sharpest stick in politics. Honestly; I really don't think she even has any interest in being president. | Politics Chat Room 83 People Chatting Similar Conversations |
