Outbackjack: I didnt say that.
I merely showed you that Dung beetles are useful.

Your ignorance is astounding.
But I will try and suffer a fool if not gladly.
Heres a history lesson.

"Between 1788 and 1868, about 160,000 people were herded onto ships in Great Britain and launched on the perilous sea voyage to an unknown land almost 12,000 miles away on the other side of the world. Labelled as ‘convicts’, these people had been convicted of crimes ranging from murder to petty theft and had, as a result, been sentenced to transportation to Australia.

A system of banishment, transportation provided a convenient way for the British government to rid itself of criminals. Since the Transportation Act of 1718, Britain had been sending convicts to its American colonies. However, when the War of Independence, also known as the American Revolutionary War, began in 1775, convict transportation to America had to end."

XFixYourBrainX: On 18 August 1786 the decision was made to send a colonisation party of convicts, military and civilian personnel to Botany Bay, New South Wales, under the command of Captain Arthur Phillip, who was appointed Governor-designate.

The First Fleet of convicts departed Portsmouth, England on 13 May 1787 and arrived in New South Wales on 18 January 1788 (moving to Sydney Cove on 26 January).

XFixYourBrainX: Between 1788 and 1868 Britain sent convicts to Australia not America you dumbass fool.
The American Revolutionary War brought that to an end and, since the remaining British colonies in what is now Canada were close to the new United States of America, prisoners sent there might become hostile to British authorities. Thus, the British Government was forced to look elsewhere. It wasnt America it was Canada haha.

XFixYourBrainX: In 1787, the "First Fleet" departed from England, to found the first colony in Australia, as a penal colony. The arrival at Port Jackson, on 26 January 1788 (now Australia Day) is considered the founding event in the history of Sydney, as well as New South Wales and modern Australia in general. In 1803, Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) was also settled as a penal colony, followed by the Moreton Bay Settlement (Queensland) in 1824. The other Australian colonies were "free settlements", as non-convict colonies were known. However, Western Australia adopted transportation in 1851, to resolve a long-standing labour shortage. Until the massive influx of free immigrants during the Australian gold rushes of the 1850s, the settler population was dominated by convicts and their descendants.

Outbackjack: British American colonies??
As in the whole of north America.

Oh silly me Britain never had any colonies in what is now the U.S.
That must mean the U.S war of Independance never happened.
Hell maybe even according to you George Washington didnt exist?

You sure you have a history major and didnt get the qualification out of a cornflake packet?

XFixYourBrainX: 1. Flies
Without doubt the worst thing about Sydney - every time you venture into a park the flies descend and start to annoy.
2. Bank charges
Banks over here have some nerve - they charge you for keeping your money, and then charge you for giving it back. My typical account has a $5 monthly fee. Also I have 15 free 'transactions' a month (ATM withdrawls, counter services) - after that you get charged 60c for each 'transaction'. My rent goes out of my account via direct debit - except each time that happens I get charged $1.80. OK - these amounts are hardly a lot - but it's the principle.

XFixYourBrainX: 3. The heat
I think I've covered this - I'll just say that last night the temperature at midnight was 25C and that it reached 30C at 10:30am this morning. I think you get the picture.

4. TV schedules
Very odd this - it must be a nightmare for people trying to set the timer on a VCR. Sometimes programmes start up to ten minutes early, and some finish later than in the TV guides. There are no explanations for this. Sometimes random news or sports updates are added. A programme will start, and immediately after the opening credits will go to an ad-break. Similarly there's always an ad-break with about a minute to go before the programme ends, which can be great if there's a cliff-hanger ending.
