john1576: Patricia Arquette plays her in the T.V. show 'Medium'. The show is popular all over the World. A big round of applause for Patricia, she is in Haiti right now helping Earth Quake victims. You can follow her on Twitter, but some of the scenes she describes are sad. God Bless Patricia.

davidk14: Oh I see. No he wouldnt know her. He's been a street officer for over 5 years and works in South Phoenix which is the "busiest" part of the city. John, seriously, he used to come home and tell stories which curled my hair. The poverty and...well just unbelievable. Here in Arizona over the last couple of years the gangs have just gotten nuts. Not your run of the mill "American neighborhood gangs" but illegal alien gangs which are just brutal to the neighborhood like in central america preying on the citizens. In Los Angeles, they needed to retro-fit the police cars and armor them. Phoenix hasnt done that yet. Police weapons have been upgraded because the gangs were getting military grade weapons. Anyway, perhaps its time to start a thread named Immigration Reform?

john1576: I have a documentary about Arizona. There is an Official there known all over the world for his 'Zero Tolerance'. I was shocked to see American prisoners manacled with leg irons and being forced to pick up litter in the streets. The folks in Arizona seemed to think it was a good policy.

davidk14: Sheriff Joe. He treats prisoners like prisoners. They wear stripes and leg irons and the Chain Gangs clean the sides of roadways. They wear pink underwear. They eat only bolonga and bread. No coffee, no cigarettes, no porn, no weights, no TV except for the history channel. The jail was getting full a few years ago so he bought used military tents and set up tent city. As the prison population grows so does the tents. Nobody is paroled early like in other big cities because of overcrowding. He has a big electic sign over the prison which says, "ALWAYS OPEN". Now you might think that its rough, its actually 'spartan'. Look on youtube.com He's all over it. He's says, "You dont like it here, then dont break the law!" In the US many prisoners outside have a worse life than in prison. Real hard to get a job if you are a con. So they break a law and back to prison with 3 squares a day and a bed, TV, and all the ACLU pecks. Better than what they get on the street. He's been re-elected 4 times. He also has a posse of volunteer, highly trained officers. Before being Sheriff, we was a DEA and FBI.

So Joe makes being in prison, worse than being on the street.
