davidk14: Tomorrow, Thursday, a Senate Bill is being voted on called HR2499 to promote the commonwealth of Puerto Rico to vote on becoming the 51st State. Puerto Rico voted in 1967, 93, and 98 not to become a state. Now The Progressive Movement in Puerto Rico (marxist) are trying to use a little known provision called the Tennessee Act to force the congress to make the commonweath a state.

The State of Arizona whose population is 1/6th the size of New York has the same amount of violent crimes. Along with the invasion and increased violence along the US southern border, the National Guard has been requested numerous times by local law enforcement to be deployed. The demographics are even more important now and this is one of the reasons the administration does not want to secure the border before the 2012 elections. The new Arizona law which allows the Federal Immigration laws to be enforced, 64% of the Arizona population agree with the bill. The governors popularity has gone up 16%.

London is a Muslim City now, (actually Muslims are only around 40 per cent of the population), but what the hell? what makes them unsuitable to be the majority there?. davidk14: John, Yes, the world is changing, the world has always changed, always will. The issue is not the change. The issue is to follow the laws of the country. America is a country of "legal" immigration. I agree most if not all of Mexican Americans are wonderful just as African, Asian, and others from all over the world who come to America "legally". This and the last administrations have not honestly dealt with securing the borders.

For years there has not been a "real" problem on the border, but now, the violence is out of control from violent illegal human flesh traders, drug runners, drug cartels and violent illegal aliens that have been deported some more than once. I know, I live within 100 miles of the border. All we want is for the border to be first secured. Then reform to immigration can be seriously debated.

The Hispanic Democratic caucus is threatening to kill a bill in congress to provide health care to 911 responders. Why? Because they insist that illegal aliens be given health care too. Why do they care about people who are not even citizens, not even voters, not even Americans? Because those people are Hispanic, too, and they feel more kinship for them than they do for Americans. And why not? Most of them are first generation, maybe 2nd generation Americans, with more "illegal" and foreign relatives than American relatives. The only way to address that sort of thing is get control of the southern border, put a stop to the steady, massive influx of illegals, and allow the US time to absorb the ones there and absorb them into the American mainstream.

IamEggman: From what i know about what is going on in Arizona, it sounds more like a reaction to the problems of illegal immigration, than a soloution.
From what i understand those who are against these new propsals are concerned about racial profiling, and the anger that creates.

davidk14: The bill in Arizona follows the federal law just that it empowers local law enforcement to execute the law since the federal government won't. Most feel for the immigration problem to be dealt with, the borders need to be secured first. The violence on the border has seriouly escalated over the last year.

john1576: David. Egg raises a good point. It is estimated 50.000 Irish folks in New York City have overstayed their visit time and are looking for work illegally. But from what I have read of your Posts David, you are an American who would have no problem in dealing with that problem, you have made it clear you are not a racist.

IamEggman: It's not the legality of the new propsals that people are concerned about, its that racial profiling causes anger. Anger that will eventually be exploited by those looking for an excuse to use violence. Especially racists on the American side. Then the whole thing spirals out of control, and you get young hispanic men wanting revenge.
thats why i said these new proposals are a reaction, not a solution.

davidk14: dave2974...Very basic, the US Immigration Law - If you want to go to school, work or want to live in this country, apply for entry. The US has the right to know who is entering the country.

davidk14: My ex is 1st generation Mexican American. I am fourth generation European American. If Obama is considered African American (black father / white mother) then my three daughters are Mexican (Americans). Never ever have my ex or daughters been stopped and asked whether they are legal residents. They carry identification with them always (drivers licenses) and when stopped for traffic violations, they have never been asked if they are citizens. The new law doesnt change that. The new law mirrors federal law that all persons who are permitted to be here carry their permits, just like in any other country. If they dont have the nessesary documentation, they will be given time to supply the documentation. If they still can not provide documentation, they are turned over to immigration services for further review. If they then are considered illigally in the US, then they are deported. No profiling...its against the law. Doesnt matter if they are from Europe, Australia, Mexico or Africa.

I know of people in the country illegally for 20 or more years. The laws havnt been enforced which has made them lazy and not apply for citizenship. They just waiting for the next amnesty. So if no amnesty happens, whatever happens to them is their own fault. Its their kids who most likely were born here which makes them citizens, are the ones who get hurt. Why do you think that there is such fear about enforcing the law?

The U.S has created a rod for its own back on this issue. The' give us your poor and huddled masses' thing. It is one of the things that America has used to define itself, now it's being used against you.

You all should know, all of you who became a naturalized citizens of the USA, that in order for you to apply for a citizenship to become US citizen is, you SHOULD at FIRST be a citizen who entered this country LEGALLY as in having a GREEN CARD (LEGAL ALIEN REGISTRATION CARD) otherwise YOU CAN NOT APPLY FOR U.S. CITIZENSHIP. This is one of the prerequisite of the Immigration Law of the USA before you can even apply for U.S. Citizenship.
When you become a naturalize citizen of this country, USA, YOU WILL HAVE TO TURN IN YOUR GREEN CARD IN LIEU OF THE NATURALIZATION CERTIFICATE THEY WILL GIVE YOU.
When applying for a USA passport for the first time, you will have to attached this ORIGINAL NATURALIZATION CERTIFICATE (no copy allowed, no exception) along with your application before you are granted a USA CITIZEN PASSPORT.

View from afar. You people are in for trouble. The demographics are clear. You are being flooded with Hispanics, and the ones there, legally or illegally, are having way more babies than everyone else. Hispanics are going to make up 30% of voters within the next 20-30 years. That's going to be trouble if they haven't been fully absorbed into the mainstream, and that's going to be hard to do as long as you have millions pouring across your border every year. During the demos last year there were plenty of Hispanic demonstrators holding up signs which basically said "We're taking back this country" or words to that effect. You could see separatist parties in states with high Hispanic populations, and at the very least, a strong move for Spanish to be recognized as an official national language like French is in Canada. I don't see what you can do about it, though. The Democrats have already seen the way the Hispanic population is headed and are not going to do a thing which can be seen as being opposed to them. And the Republicans, well, Bush was, for some reason I never figured out, in Mexico's pocket, and did anything they wanted. Besides, the Republicans do what business tells them, and business likes lots of cheap workers who don't complain.

Better enroll your kids in Spanish classes.
