Whispered Silence daisiesnfld: Whispered Silence . Gasping last breaths of beauty Veins and a spine of its own Gently loosens its lease now On what was once its home . In soft and whispered silence It fell gently to the ground And waited for a breeze To lift it air bound . Yet there it lay for a while As though to contemplate Which direction it would go Where it might find its fate . Dusk came and then nightfall And finally the dew It felt heavy with weight No longer crisp, thrown askew . Waiting for the morning sun Hoping to dry out again And join the many others On the journey of the wind . But denied it was The gust upward to the sky Twirled and curled it had swirled On its downward way to die . Camouflaged in glorious colors Memorized by all the birds The leaf, one of many Lay fallen and never heard . © DaisiesNfld | poems Chat Room Similar Conversations |
