Finally I made the journey here
Reverting back to my childhood
But not to worry be of good cheer
It's really all quite good

Don't listen to what others say
And allow them to make you sad
For it's okay if you can't remember
Every memory that you had
.
No keeping up with your birthday
Or matching all your clothes
Forever losing your car keys
Someone drives you where you go
.
And speak your mind in a crowd
If you don't like what others do
Feel free to criticize their kids
They'll make allowances for you
.
Now someone else is paying
Choose what you want on the menu
Throw a tantrum for dessert first
And they'll give in to you
.
Don't worry cleaning pots and pans
You're not a chef you know
The frozen section has your dinner
Paper plates the way to go!
.
Make a list of all your wishes
For gifts throughout the year
Then discover which family member
Think you're the one most dear
.
Stay up as late as you choose
And hoard the TV remote near
Keep the volume turned up loud
Remember you're deaf and can't hear
.
Oh! And take sides in an argument
After all that's why you're there
And being a good referee
Is showing that you care!
.
It's your privilege to nap all day
And take a rest in between
When they come home why be alone
Make yourself heard and seen
.
After all young ones need guidance
And you have to admit it's nice
To have been an adult only once
And to have your childhood twice
.
