Dating back a hundred years or so Sits resting proof that they were here Smiling, solemn some they were Others prim, proper and austere . Fading now as they once did too The photos cracked now and frail Still hold dear the faces there Of the stories they could tell . Babies loved in arms they'd held Tears shed when sent off to wars Husbands, lovers never seen again Lost in battle somewhere afar .
