The Great Divide

daisiesnfld: The Great Divide
.
The stars went out at midnight
Without a twinkle in the sky
And down below no heavenly show
For all the watchful eye
.
The moon failed to take its place
And darker was the night
Amidst the wails hope prevailed
That sun would bring daylight
.
Yet sun was done, and did not shine
Day now as dark as night
And mankind could not understand
The reason for their plight
.
Aircraft disappeared from sight
The blinking lighthouse towers
Vessels lost out at sea
No longer guiding powers
.
The world's very greatest scientists
Gathered to discover and explore
Strange phenomenon's of the oceans
That no longer had a floor
.
Each with predictions of their own
With the world now in a panic
They recognized with gloom their doom
And became that much more frantic
.
In unison countless voices cried
"What have we done God to deserve this?"
Then from the voice of the great divide
"God? You say I do not exist..."
.
