Petals From A Book

daisiesnfld: Petals From A Book
.
Like grains of sand that shift with time
From beaches upon the shores
And held but for this breath of mine
Then swept to sea forever more
.
Much like the gardener tending with love
The care he gives his own prized rose
For such as the beauty in the fallen petals
But more so in the words of prose
.
Set free at last to drift at will
Flowing effortlessly from each page
To land on sand or mountains cliff
Claim space on a shelf with age
.
Perhaps upon a summer's breeze
Or wafting on autumn's leaves of gold
Drifting softly as the falling flakes
Of a winter's cresting snow
.
Carved forever from the fingers
Of the rose garden in my mind's nook
Are the infinite words that blossom
Petals plucked from a poetry book
.
