Although he rarely read the Bible
Tonight his heart was heavy, spent
And in turning through the pages
Out fell a letter never sent

"Here's hoping you have found this
For I know you're burdened there
Feeling all alone and empty now
In a home that we once shared
.
But do keep reading the Bible
From which all your comfort comes
And know I have a new home
And that my life has just begun
.
I am not 'was' for I am still 'is'
Alive as I've always been
But just away, not gone to stay
Until I see you again
.
From there to here a breath away
Short the distance and the time
You're still living all your days
While I've claimed all of mine
.
Because you cannot see me
Won't make me less real to you
For I'll be everywhere you go
And in everything you do
.
There I'll be in every morning
When fresh the early dew
And as the sun is dawning
When you start your day anew
.
And on those darkened days
Glancing out your window pane
When a rainbow fills the sky
And gone is all the rain
.
Hear my voice in all the music
In the love songs that are played
Let my words ring loud and clear
In what my heart has to say
.
Don't be afraid to say my name
Or mention when you saw me last
I'm still as is and just the same
And not ever of the past"
