Does Karma Exist? (Page 4)

StuckInTheSixties
StuckInTheSixties: "Karma only exist with the choices you make."

That's redundant. The whole concept of karma is that your "next life" is predicated upon the choices you make.

Luzarches: It´s interesting, the same experience is felt diferent to diferent people... uuummm like LSD?
for one is a Peplum, Ben Hur, the raise of a new Empire
other think it like a Road Movie along US, looking for freedom, maybe Easy Rider, or even The Siddartha of Hesse
another is a Sword Fight, like Arthur legends, Star Wars or Inmortals.
one more is about CIA, spies movies, or Second Virtual World like Matrix, or psycho killers like The Silence of the Lambs.
and one last, but not the least, Karma seems to be a film like Inception, read S.Freud or CG Jung, again Siddartha, or he/she likes new age design about people dreaming like AVATAR, may be The Pillars of the Earth, and probably a book like The Road of Conrad Mcarthy...
...
similar experiences produces diferent Karmas, two brothers in the same way, one wants to be a COP and the other a Psichologist...

Luzarches: ...
The role of the subject perception in Karma is essential.
For example the diferent ways of ethics (simplifyng: "good and evil" of any of us would change our Karma.
Of course the previous experience are the bricks of the Karma, but the only thing? probably not.
What about the random in Karma?

I forgot in my list "A Confederacy of Dunces" that novel is about KARMA in capitol letters lol, but i dont think that Ignatius Reilly indentify himself with the portrait. But Ignatius Reilly is not retard, he is superb and arrogant an easy way to arrive into the stupidity.
and yes Mat... you are obviously right, we all are FORREST GUMP. Novel and film about KARMA por excelencia.

flashie: i hope 'karma' in the sense that a natural law will even things out does exist. it bothers me that ppl like hitler and j edgar hoover can die and not be punished for the crimes they committed.

but i guess we wont really know until were dead. were surrounded by laws of nature in our existence, i hope it exists in our good and bad choices too

Luzarches: I agree, Karma in next life and believing in reincarnation?
Karma in our own life like the experiences never leave us?
but the notion of KARMA only about good and bad is only one way of seeing it, I think if it really exists is deeper than if you make wrong you receive wrong...
...
Hitler is nothing without all the history previous him and all the people (important an not important) that supported him. Books of history have made justice with Hitler more or less, but there is no justice with the powerful people of Germany or other countries that supported Hitler, In those times it was a capitalist country and without the support of all the magnates, industries, money, religious leaders... it was not possible that the racist and bellicose ideology took the power.

erae
erae: Every mainstream religion teaches us about the consequences of our actions. The explanations may differ, but does it really matter in the end whether the law of karma causes us trouble or God himself in his final judgement?
When we meet with big problems; disease, loss of family or friends, getting trapped in a war or natural disaster. At those times, we suddenly wonder: "Why me?" The law of karma does not look for a reason outside ourselves for our good or bad fortune, it simply explains our own suffering as a result of our negative deeds towards others, and our happiness as a result of our actions to help others.
Personally i believe in karma. like, "oh shit you just got karmaaaed!" but honestly, karma could just be on of those things to teach us not to do stuff, like adam and eve. But karma or no karma, your not getting any presents for christmas if you rob that bank.

Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.

Luzarches: Erae, I am agree with you, but some points...
Nobody has control of their thoughs.
Ok we have responsability about what we are thinking, but mostly our conscious part is not tha only part and of course not always have the control...
I know that the notion of freedom as real free will has its last refuge in the mind and what we think... but we dont think freely what our conscious would want, there are more silent and dark work inside our thoughts.
And of course we can think what we get from our outside world.
All we are living inside our own bubbles of knowledge, feelings, perceptions..., and the part Conscious, Deliberate, "awake goverment" is so small that we have to believe in things like Karma, because it is some explanation about all that random, random of thoughts too... like a religion (you are right)
...
hey thanks i like your comment, inspirative
