hewhay: true on both accounts ,all are born with free will as well as a good ,and an evil side ,many choose good ,some choose evil ,some are born into evil as they have worked on the Dark side ,in every lifetime [ but one must believe in the spiritual 'doctrine' of re-incarnation to believe in past lives ] I am an 'Old Soul' Rich in Spirit ,was around in my last life during the Bolshevik revolution ,had many dreams about life during that time in history .
DREAMS -aka SLEEPING VISIONS ,sometimes they have signs that have special meanings ,but if you have a recurring dream ,it probably means exactly what it is showing you

Teece: PokerMan, Is there any concrete evidence that Karma exists - or even God? I thought these message boards were about opinions.......... People look at things in all sorts of different ways - allot of topics cannot actually be proven to be anything other than how people view them.
I doubt that anyone could ever provide evidence of people being born bad - I simply find it an interesting subject based on experience and would like to read other people's opinions.

jamie5432154321: Since I believe in the good Lord, you are rewarded and/or punished for everything you do.......good or bad. Whenever I do the right thing with a pure heart, He blesses me 10-fold. It has happened to me so many times that it can't be discounted as a coincidence. And a few times I made decisions that weren't as pleasing, and it came back to me also............consequently, I strive to always do the right thing. You can call it whatever you want, but carma is alive and well!!!

Teece: Yes obviously...... but it sounds to me as if PokerMan is wanting hard evidence and tangible proof which cannot be obtained from opinions....

XFixYourBrainX: Really hewhay u really have had dreams about your past life? Ive heard of this before and done research on this phenomenon and people believing they have found a past life they lived. Surprisingly some of the information given made sense and was rational at best, but still unverifiable. Im not saying what you said wasnt real, but its quite interesting I think.

MattyD89: Karma in no way, shape, or form exists. Doing good things does not nesesarliy improve your life. Doing bad things does not nesesarily make your life worse. There are "horrible" people out there with great lives. There are "great" people out there with horrible lives. It's all about the situations, not some "force" called karma.

XFixYourBrainX: Good point, ive thought exactly what you said about this matter for quite some time now. So many good people that have bad things happen to them. Maybe they make choices to have bad stuff happen to them. So many bad people that have good things happen to them. Are they bad, but they do good things and karma rewards them? Hmm I dont know. Does bad things happen to people all the time and they just hide those bad things from other people? Maybe.

Its cause Karma is just a man made up "force" that in reality does not exist.

It's all about the situation.

Did Stalin suffer a stroke because he was a bad man? Or because he was unhealthy? Or maybe he would have survived if the gaurds wernt scared to check on him? Either way, no second force played a role.

Or what about Saddam? Was it Karma that took his life after years and years of living in gold palaces killing his own civilians at the old age of 69?

oldtimeracer: Well, I'd say yes. I've always lived with the idea that if you treat people nice, then nice will come back to you. If you treat people mean, then mean will come back to you.

Teece: I'm wondering if the book "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne is connected to Karma?
The Secret teaches us that we create our lives with every thought, every minute of the day. We are magnets, attracting to ourselves all things via the signal we are emitting.
The Secret is based on the law of Attraction. We attract our dominant thoughts - ie., those who focus and speak most of illness get illness / those who focus on and speak most of prosperity get prosperity.
If we are focusing on what we don't want to happen we attract it and vice versa.
Perhaps when bad thing seem to happen to good people it is because they are focusing on what they don't want to happen in their lives.......

Bad things happen to people who do bad things.

Karma is something we make ourselves believe; because, it cushions the blow.
If someone did something bad to you; and, you can't do anything about it, you tend to just say 'they will get their karma'.

But in actual fact. There is no perfect balance. I have to be a Debby Downer, but you can't say that every action whether it be good, or bad...will have an appropriate consequence.

The world isn't fair.
Unfortunately, the people that deserve the best, don't always get their karma...and the people who deserve nothing, sometimes get it much better than they should.
