Does Karma Exist? coolhell: Yes...in every one, with in the different amounts...because of the vibrant energy in our bodies.(NRG is transferable...can not vanish) DIEcomputerDIE: He was really good on Seinfeld, but after that comedy club incident..I just don't know. It's like he went off the deep end.. franklin1950: yes. call it what you will . action, word or thought . some times subtle ... sometimes not so subtle . sometimes emminate ... sometimes farther down the road. blonde goddess: i believe so and i believe it works both ways good and bad. what goes around comes around in the end... hewhay: Karma goes with reincarnation ,else how can one reap what they have sown in one lifetime , it also goes with 'cause & effect' Some stagnating in a not so great life ,may be reaping what they have sown in the last life ,likewise to one who is prospering and living a life of no wants ,they may have been an extremely generous soul in their past life ,when you think of generosity ,don't just think of money flashie: nah. i belive in fate to an extent but karma in a persons lifetime is pretty non-existent and the reincarnation thing is a cop out for sure. summer thunder storm here Teece: I definately think Karma exists. I have seen evidence of it with people I know. Bad luck has come to those that I thought really deserved it because of things they have intentionally done to others in the past, but more so I have seen good things happen to people that really deserve it. It rarely comes in the form of money. Point5andahalf: I believe karma means consequences of actions. What goes around, comes around. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. And what you sow is what you'll reap. We suffer the consequences of past actions. On a personal level within our own lives. But I don't accept the idea of past lives/reincarnation. Successive generations, as a whole, pay the karmic debt, good or bad, (consequences), of previous generations. Teece: I do believe in reincarnation. I have been told the same story about who I was in a past life - these two people do not know each other - in fact they live in different countries. What I find most interesting is that the belief is that we all stay within our family and (life long) friend groups as we progress. Eg - apparently my Mum was my sister in a past life - weird huh? Also, how do you explain De-ja-vue? I had many such experiences when I travelled to the Mediterranean - almost to the point that it was getting disturbing. It was years later that I was told that a past life had been lived there. Spooky. flashie: j edgar hoover died in his bed aged 77 his black servants found him. he and hitler need exceptionally good kickings in hell as karma must have fallen asleep in their lives Point5andahalf: I think they may have lived torturous, unhappy lives. From a young age? Consequences of upbringing. Teece: Yes I agree - I think the majority of mean and cruel people choose to be that way whether it is a consequence of upbringing or not. Teece: BUT...... I still wonder if it is possible for people to be born bad....... but that's another Forum Topic isn't it? Maybe I'll put it out there. XFixYourBrainX: You can ask it, but I doubt there is any evidence to support such a claim. And if there is any evidence it wouldnt amount to anything. XFixYourBrainX: Really are you yankin my chain or has there been independent scientific studies on this phenomenon? | Philosophy Chat Room 15 People Chatting Similar Conversations |
