Secret to life. RocktheFlaminCowboy: The secret to life. One day on the radio there was an interview with an 82 year old woman that was into meditation and yoga with a brilliant healthy outlook on life. She was asked what kept her so healthy with such a vibrant outlook. Her answer simply was “I accept the status quo. It’s just no use in worrying. When there is a problem you acknowledge it and then put your efforts into the solution.” She stated how little the body can heal when the mind is in constant negative reaction to what is around it. Remember the brain controls and heals the body. She was involved in a car accident and injured one of her arms to the extent that doctors said they could work on it but she will have limited use. With meditation and a focused mind on the solution she proved them wrong. The moral to the story is to focus always on being happy and fulfilled by not constantly worrying and bickering over totally unnecessary things. It just makes you sick in the end with stress and we keep saying chill out. We need to learn how to. llala: yes, absolutely true, but sometimes so difficult to stop worried.Especially when your life change to all 100%. RocktheFlaminCowboy: It's basically a reconditioning of the mind from the brainwash of today's society. Not easy but everything needs practice. Practice makes perfect, but nobody's perfect????? Geoff: Hmm, there is something to be said for yoga (and tai chi) and proper meditation. From a scientific outlook. Yoga and tai chi both focus on stretching (which decreases the build of nitrogen bubbles in the joints funnily enough) and have some evidence to preventing arthritis. Meditation amongst Buddhist monks has shown to elevate gamma rhythms within the brain, causing a feeling of wellbeing and reducing blood pressure. Strange what can actually have a beneficial effect on the human body. sillychild: "The moral to the story is to focus always on being happy and fulfilled by not constantly worrying and bickering over totally unnecessary things. It just makes you sick in the end with stress and we keep saying chill out. We need to learn how to. " totally unnecessary things often turn out to save many, many lives. whats the point of not getting sick if you indirectly killed thousands? ex. it wasnt necessary for there to be a drinking age but by creating one they have saved a portion of what could be saved. a HUGE portion. RocktheFlaminCowboy: They are not unnecessary things then. Most normal worries are and just concentrate on the problem and not the solution. You can solve things without the hoo ha. sillychild: yes, but can you know what is necessary without knowing it is necessary? if you bother with what is unnecessary you are nearly just as likely to wind up with some invaluable piece of information that could save millions. RocktheFlaminCowboy: Sounds all very nice but the secret to life is to your life and not others.
