Death Penlty (Page 5) hitsugaya252: Whatever it may be but i'm against death penalty. And i also don't like the idea 'an eye for an eye'. if a dog bites u, will u bite him back in return? It is not neccesary that we should also follow the same path as those heartless criminals did. Think, what if the criminal was innocent?or did something by mistake. No one can enjoy the seen when criminals were about to be killed(hanged). Whatever they may have done, people will forget all those things and forgive them. And thats what make humans great. MattyD89: hitsaguya youre totally right. but it's too bad there are more killers out there then ya think.... john1576: Lipton. What do you mean 'Psychopaths'?. It is reasonable that if you commit horrid disgusting acts like the Washington Sniper did, the Authorities may require a little more from you than a long sentence in Federal Prison. If you look at the facts, they gave man a better fate than he deserved. LiptonCambell: I was implying that the government are psychopaths. And what someone "deserves" isn't what I'm arguing- I'm arguing that murder is wrong, even when done in the name of good or done by society. I'm saying we as citizens should distrust our governments- and that starts by saying that no one- not you, me, the government or the man whose 8 year old was murdered- has the right to kill another human being. hitsugaya252: It will be better if we discuss about 'causes of crime' rather than 'punishment' for criminals. LiptonCambell: Also, one wonders- if 99% of the population agrees the Government has the right to murder its citizens- does the Government then have the moral authority to do so? Conversely, can I grant you the right to kill? With that in mind, can anyone, under any circumstances- be it through passion, conviction, popular vote, ect- give anyone else rights they themselves do not possess? Icy_Uranus: I'm not favour of the death penalty. Sometimes innocent people get convicted. 1967 was the last time a person was executed here in Australia. Ronald Ryan was found guilty and sentenced to death by hanging for the murder of a prison guard during an escape. There has been controversy over this case as to whether Ryan did actually shoot the guard. He went to his death claiming innocence. If Ryan did it or not, who knows. But what if he didn't? BeautifulRejection: Does no one know how to read. It said if convicted and it's proven. WITH NO CONFLICTING EVIDENCE.. Icy_Uranus: I'm not sure where it said no conflicting evidence. But in the case of Ronald Ryan there was no conflicting evidence at the time of sentence even though he didn't agree with the "confessions" that were presented at court. It wasn't until 19 years after his execution that a guard said he might have fired the shot that killed the other guard. LiptonCambell: I'm not convinced that simply being proved guilty and convicted is enough to kill a man, though. Again, there are millions of cases of people being proved guilty and convicted of a crime, to later be found innocent. Our system is based on without a doubt, but its not without its flaws and mistakes. I don't say peoples lives should be judged by this standard- its too sloppy that, if 12 of your peers are convinced you are guilty and should be put to death, that you should. And, of course, the question of what right does anyone, be it government, 12 average people considering moral choices, or the individual, have to end the life of another? MattyD89: simply being proved guilty and convicted is NOT enough to kill a man NO MATTER WHAT THE SITUATION. Brokenarrow: Seeing so many people seem to have issues with the whole concept of fact, how about going back to the cowboy days when people were being killed for something as simple as they were accused of cheating in a card game.. Clearly, that must be a better choice in this discussion because having these so called facts just aren't enough... jcscool: nowadays technology is good dna is a big part of prosecution so if hes found guilty then thats it dont feel sorry for him look at the victims if u cater to evil people then ur brainwashed or ur in love withj one of them dont stand up for criminals cause they will do it again if they think they can get away with it we must be tougher on killers and rapers no excuses wake up its a life for a life that shouild be our law MattyD89: jscool. YOU"RE a SICK F%#x. If you want to torture ANYONE for ANY reason at all YOU'RE f*zw@~ in the head too... Anyone who thinks any infliction of mental or physcial pain is okay for any reason is f*xy#^ in the head. jcscool: matty de ur asimpathetic ass if ur family was a victim of violence your gonna tell me your gonna say oh ok ur stupid get a life wake up we must dish out punishment that way crimes wont happen so much if something happened to my family yeah id at his door and take him away thats called justice im not gonna let him sit in prison thewn get out no way id even get him in prison no one can hide from me guarantee that im very resourseful person i can find anyone anywhere i have too ive done things to people you see only in movies to bad criminals and they deseved it too im not sick person i beleive in eye for an eye ill take justise in my own hands if i think they will just getaway with it someone has to step up my family comes first jcscool: apparently ur just a kid who hasnt experianced anything but ur video games u probably still live at home too grow up look around wake up MattyD89: jscool. You dont know me wha-so-ever. I lived in Moscow Russia back in the day... I saw dead bodies on a daily basis. And I was an inch away from going to Iraq but realised how stupid that would be. Hurting life in any way is wrong and f&yx#~ up. I keep myself out side those situations at all time possible. If my family were to suffer a horrif act caused by another man I wouldnt even want to know what happened to him. I wouldnt want to have anything to due with him, or his conviction. I keep myself away form people that hurt others for any reason at all. OF COURSE if someone killed my family id be heart broken and WANT to kill the person who did it. But thatd make me NO BETTER then them and wouldnt change a f&^&*#$ thing except i would be hurting another life which is a~&%^w@. i dont beleive ayone has the right to hurt anyone else for any reason. MattyD89: What do you think youre Dexter Morgan or some shit? Making yourself feel good for a f&zx$~ up action and justifying it in your own head? hurting life in any way for any reason is bad and shitty and f*z~%~ up. MattyD89: a killer rationalizes killing a "innocent" life due to his emotions within his head. He justifies it. Just as you would "justify" in your own head killing that guy becuase of your emotions. Brokenarrow: MattyD89: For someone who says a lot you sure don't know jack shit!! I see your point of if someone kills someone else and then you kill them it makes you no better.. But, if you would have paid attention early, it wasn't us killing him personally, it is the government killing them for their crimes.. So in all actuality, it isn't us killing someone based off of emotions!!! We are just agreeing with the outcome! If you have seen so much and done so much like you claim, why are you on your ass all the time typing on the computer?? I say that you are full of shit and make up everything to make yourself feel special so you don't have to worry about all the things that you can never get in your life... Like for example, a girlfriend! By the way, that pic of that truck looks like ass!! I just thought I would point that out to you.. *Flips off* BeautifulRejection: MattyD89: So what about this! You have a family (Not like it will ever happen but wishful thinking on your Anyway so you have a wife and new born baby daughter. Some random a%#w$y$ like yourself breaks into your house ties up you up and rapes your wife in front of you. After he's done with your wife he moves on to the new born where he kills her in front of you as well. During all of this you manage to break free.... WHATS YOUR NEXT MOVE!!!!
