Why do people with no knowledge on a subject think they know everything?

MsEcho_Yup
MsEcho_Yup: It is like an epidemic lately. People have such a closed mind, are absolutely positive they know everything about another group of people and they have never even spoken to someone in that group. I feel like people in an attempt to raise themselves up, are so willing to step on others to improve their position. What ever happened to giving the benefit of the doubt to someone?

andersonarts2017: Well it is the rise of wickedness, according to the bible. Not sure if you are a Christian or not, but it's foretold that a time will come when people become totally evil.

MsEcho_Yup: I try to respect people who have their beliefs. I only object if they use religion for hate or if they try to impose it on others especially in government. I'm generally good with my morality although we can all try to be better. My post was not so much about wicked people, but those who get a morsel of a story, and, thinking they know everything, close their mind to facts and new perspectives. I guess that kind of describes prejudice.

andersonarts2017: That is correct. Prejudiced people are basically ignorant of the plight of anyone else. In the struggle to feel better about being ignorant, instead of trying to educate themselves about some topic or group of people, they are vilified and find joy in making themselves appear greater than they actually are. It's the "look at me" culture. I quit doing that when I turned 18.

The giant midget
The giant midget: I stay far and clear of people like that.
They always try really hard to drag me down to their level of ignorance and stupidity .
