Chicks who try stuff

Neanderthal Gangsta
Neanderthal Gangsta: One of the things I like to see is women who go outside of the traditional paht that society tells women to follow.

So I wanted to tell you guys about Simone Giertz. She was 23 and never did anything with hardware or software. She's 25 now, and she invents stuff. But here's the kicker. None of what she makes is really all that technically great, or useful. She's invents stupid things 'cause she likes to play around. She's not worried about being a great engineer.

For instance, she invented a "the wake-up machine" which is an alarm clock which slaps you to wake you up. It went viral 'cause it's funny, not because it's awesome.

So how is it that some chick who doesn't know anything about engineering can do that? It's because the last few years, we've transitioned to an age where building little robots and machines that do stuff like that is not longer all that complicated.

Simone is just young enough to ignore anyone around her who says, "oh you need to be an engineer to do that"... and I'm sure pretty much anyone's reading this will think, "yeah, i don't really have the time to figure that stuff out.. just not for me".

I say that's fine if you really don't have the interest. But if you do, and think you don't have the competency, you might wanna rethink your stance on that.
