why we fear for death?

Me B
Me B: We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.

we should never fear for known things and we all know we will die one day so why to fear for that but we should always fear for unknown things, we have little clue of how our future will be.

MattyD89: Because when we die we will never be able to do the things we love again. As much as people want to believe in 'another dimension' or some sort, but deep down everyone knows its bullshit.

kat82: Yes, probably that's where it leads. And that's why people created heaven and hell, past and future lives etc. I believe all people fear death, even the ones that think of it as something physical.

MattyD89: I see it as nothing more then physical. And it scares the shit out of me. I love life and many things within this world. I do not want to part with them. That's what scares me. Well, I guess it's not being scared, but being sad if that makes sense. The idea of death saddens me, it does not scare me.

Me B: actually no point in fearing for the sure things which will happen and no point in fearing for death as well all know we will die one day.
if we observe a person usually starts to succeed in life when he or she is fed of life and don't care what lays ahead of them.

kat82: Me B you are right that we cannot prevent it from happening, but unfortunately death has to do with our feelings and not with logic.

MattyD89: Ray Kurzweil - The Singularity.

Look him up. One of the most influential people in technology since Thomas Edison. Has innovated and invented many technologies still used today. He predicted the internet to the exact year as well as many other advances within technology. Steve Jobs, and Stephen Hawking have both declared him one of the smartest men alive, and the best at prediction future technologies.

Ray (and many others) believe it will be completely possible to live forever by 2028. With exponential growth within technology many scientist see it to be true. Already we have stopped, and even REVERSED the aging process in mice.

Of course, if you get hit by a bus, see ya; but soon we will be able to stop the physical aging process due to pre determined DNA coding and subtle environmental factors such as carcinogens. Already some people have mico computers inside their bodies that can help fight against disease. Soon everyone will have them and they will be able to completely kill any type of disease the human body can acquire.

We live in a very special time. Technology has never been so good, or progressed so fast. 50 years ago new technologies came out every so often. Now you couldn't keep up with them even if you wanted to.

Another very cool FACT - Ray has done everything within his power, know how, and money to reverse his own aging process with the limited available technology we do have right now (for this purpose). He started over 5 years ago. When he started he had a biological age of around 45 or something. Since his regiment of strict diet, exercise, and pill taking (over 200 a day) assembled by the best doctors in the world, and himself, his biological age has decreased to around 39. Simply amazing.

This documentary is eye opening: ray kurzweil transcendent man

Now put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Me B: death has to do with our feelings ?
yes i agree but there is no point in fearing for the thing which is gonna happen one day sure.
instead try to achieve something before that happens and we can use that as motivation and most most people succeed when they get mentally strong i.e stop fearing what happens next.

kat82: Fear is a feeling, an emotion. For the moment I don't think of it, I'm young, fresh and full of energy. I'm just saying that people usually freak out when they get close to it.

kat82: I think the opposite... People who are positive and full of energy fear more of abandoning this life in percentage, than people who don't know what they are doing and feel emotionally weak. And all of this because they are hungry for life.

Azimuth_Predator: I don't believe in religious views of death and life lol
So i don't fear anything but my self and evil people around me.
As for death i think its too early at least for me at 28 years old to say that i do or do not fear it. I don't know if i will cause i am too young to know at this point.
When i reach the age of 70 plus then we can discuss about this topic again cause there is a slight possibility that i might fear it. Until then i don't know.
But i think deep inside every1 is a little afraid of death when its close lol
