should women breast feed in public or go some where private? (Page 4)
Bumpa: There's a TV ad screening here at present where a young mum places a bottle labelled breast milk in the fridge but the label falls off (its an ad for post it notes) a bloke comes along and drains the bottle in one swallow. The facial expressions are outa this world!
deacon7771: I totally agree with Bumpa, a woman's breasts are NOT obscene or vulgar things, the human body is not an obscene or vulgar thing. If it bothers you to see a woman's breast, THEN LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE, "avert your gaze," and mind your own business.
Bumpa: OMG! the admin losers strike even here? Get a life guys!
My wife has several young mother friends all of whom breast feed their kids up till the age of 2 or so. It's never a problem for them to get a tit out in public. Sometimes the kids pull Mums top down themselves and dig for a drink. It's not unusual to see a young woman with one tucked away modestly while the other is bouncing and swinging freely. Quite a sight on the dance floor
If anyone stares unduly, they would pretty quickly be left out of our circle and invites would dry up.
admireme63: I breast fed both of my boys, in public when necessary. However, I used good taste when doing so; parden the pun. I never, I repeat NEVER exposed my breast. I placed a blanket over my shoulder and over the baby. One time when I went grocery shopping, I placed my baby on my breast without a blanket, & placed my arm under the baby and it looked like I was just holding the baby as I stood and pretended to be looking for an item on that isle. A man actually walked right up to me, asked me if he could help me find something and I said, No, thanks, I am fine. The man never even knew my baby was on my breast. And, I breast fed my boys til they were almost one years old, both of them. So I think u can do this with tact and still get the job done without offending any one.
Bumpa: Good on you Admireme, If anyone gets offended, too effin bad! Their problem, not yours and certainly not your baby's.
bethanie1001: breasts are for feeding. modern culture has turned them into something they were never meant to be by idolizing them sexually. theres no reason a mother should have to refrain from feeding her child, anywhere. theres also no reason she cant at least try to cover up.
deacon7771: Better be careful there bahcatha returns, you never know just who might turn up, you might be thinking of nursing from someone Bettie Page or Sharon Stone, and you might get Rosie O'Donnell or Rosanne Barr.
AnnaSunny: if the view of breastfeeding woman bothers you it means you stare way too long
I won't let my child be hungry (and grumpy) only because it's a public place, but I always do it discretly- yes, it's possible
LadyLoki89: I really don't get why women fight so hard for their right to breast feed in public. I'm personally not offended to find some place private. I guess of all the rights we've had to fight for over the years, this one seems rather trivial.
bahcatha returns: no worse than two disgusting love birds getting into each other in public, to put it nicely so as not to get banned again.
