Second Amendment (Page 3) Finger5: This common sense isnt getting through your head, twist reality to suit your agenda as much as you want, but if you cant be rational im not going to continue. Nicotina: I don’t see that happening, lori. Each political party is pointing the finger at the other and the public is then being distracted from the evil that either political party is committing. Divide and conquer is a common tactic. Once again, political abuse happens while we are all busy finding fault with the other. Taking accountability is far more difficult than blaming others. Finger5: "Dont argue with idiots, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience" - Mark Twain. lori100: prolific.....you said you weren't a dem..........the ones threatening usa are the rioters and anarchists.....they want no police and destruction.....how do repubs threaten the world? Nicotina: Calling others names while not recognizing our own hypocrisy is what allows elitism to prosper and subjugation to continue. Wild__: @Geoff... Are you implying that in the absence of total anarchy we must therefore be in a state of tyranny? If a toddler can't be allowed by law to drive a truck therefore we live in tyranny? Really? That's just as lame as implying that because no one has assassinated "orange man bad" therefore the 2nd Amendment has failed. No one is going to assassinate a sitting president just because of your hatred. I luv ya Geoff but, really though, in the overall scheme of things... you're just not that important. Why do you so often try to reduce an issue to a false dichotomy? Surely you can do better than that Geoff. fustler: I can't help that I'm slightly chagrined by the irony of an assessment such as this. Someone who is vehemently against gun ownership shouldn't seek to shame those that are guaranteed the right to own firearms by implying we've all been bad people for not advancing that opportunity to murdering corrupt politicians. No nation that has imposed a blanket ban on it's citizens owning firearms is without corrupt politicians. I own three firearms. I don't wish to have them taken away from me. Because I appreciate the power of these potentially deadly tools, I wish dearly for severe governmental control of the availability of firearms. It should be a lengthy and exhaustive process to acquire one. To purchase ammunition should be even more frustratingly thorough. I support the second amendment, but I won't defend it from a position of ignorance. I was taught from the table cloth, moderation in all things. To posit a sarcastic provocation is to fall in line, lock step with the current cancervitve vs. libtard media smorgasbord. Frankly, its an oversimplified, inconsiderate, and uncivil approach to discourse. lori100: from the moment 'trump announced he would run the media has shown it's blatant bias, ridicule , and trump hysteria syndrome..... lori100: dems have often talked of it in regards to trump.....a lot of it online....they also hope he and his voters die of covid often.... fustler: @Nicotina "What is the second amendment worth if, when faced with two terrible candidates you don't try to fix American politics?" That comment is the beginning of this thread. The second amendment guarantees the right to bear arms. Whether or not the current American president can or cannot be considered a tyrant is moot. In this day and age, someone opposed to gun violence should not be advocating such behavior. Nicotina: fustler, the 2nd A was ratified in order to give people a way to defend themselves from a tyrannical federal government. Those supporting the 2nd A often use this as a reason for arming themselves. As such, it is confusing for others that when faced with tyranny the 2nd A advocates do nothing to change the situation they themselves claimed is the reason they have such rights. (Post deleted by Account Closed ) Wild__: For years people have been telling me that I don't need guns to protect myself because I can just call the cops. Now these same people are demanding that we defund the police. lori100: hey Geoff , it's against the law to threaten the president...even if you're in England or online....the secret service go after people making threats..... | Off Topic Chat Room Similar Conversations |
