chronology: Al Bielek and the Philadelphia Experiment. Debunking a crank is usually easy with enough work and investigation, Al Bielek has been debunked over and over relating to his claims about the Philadelphia Experiment. What is mysterious about Al Bielek or to use the name he was using in his early years, Edward Cameron is just 'where' he spent most of his life. People who have investigated Al's early life before he came forward as a 'survivor' of a super secret U.S. Government Time Travel experiment, have at best been able to say Al was never employed at such and such a place, and he was never on such and such a ship, but what they have never established is just where he was for most of his life before 1990. He must have had an address, he must have earned a living, he must have spoken to some people who remember him. But with Al Bielek, no one seems to be able to discover any such history.

The best one researcher could find was a former work friend at a electronics company who recalled; 'if it is the Ed Cameron I remember, I think he got too close to his stories, nice enough Guy tho'.

Al, or Edward did have a United States Social Security Number issued in New York, so checking his past life should have been straight forward.

chronology: At one time, this would have had American Missionaries in a complete flux, holding their Bibles and warning the Natives about the sinfulness of drinking blood. But in Hanoi today Snake Blood is a popular drink, and not just with Vietnamese, also with visiting tourists.

Visitors to snake blood bars select which snakes they want to eat, (and drink) then they have the snakes killed and the blood squeezed into glasses and mixed with rice wine, and then they raise their glasses and 'down the hatch'. A tasty side dish is the snakes heart, eaten while it is still beating.

How times change. Today it would not just be Missionaries from Americas Bible Belt protesting outside the snake bars, they would be joined by PETA.

chronology: The story of how humans discovered Coffee is probably true. A shepherd boy in Ethiopia noticed how his goats would jump and frolic about after nibbling beans from a coffee bush. The shepherd told some Monks about the effect of the beans on his goats and the Monks were curious enough to gather some of the beans and chew them, and eventually crush them to drink as a beverage; 'Coffee' then began to explode onto the world Business and Cultural scene changing peoples social and political and business lives for ever.

In the Arab world, coffee became the drink of choice in coffee houses where business and political negotiations took place. But it was when the beans were cultivated in Latin America that a truly global industry, the most important today after oil, began.

Coffee also 'sobered up' Europe. Europeans often had beer with their breakfasts, but soon people switched to coffee which boosted productivity and creativity in Europe. Coffee also was part of International political strategy. Early United States business and political leaders were keen to switch from Tea importing, which was controlled by England, to Coffee importing.

Brazil is still the undisputed 'King of Coffee' providing 30pc of the global supplies.

chronology: Is there an Alien Satellite that has orbited the Earth for at least 100 years? The 100 year time frame is based on Radio signals received by Nicola Tesla, a hundred years ago. Throw into the mix supposed sightings by Astronomers and Astronauts and you have a rock solid proof positive case it seems. Alas Wireclubers, the truth is a more complicated, 'yes' Tesla did hear unknown broadcasts of some kind, Ham Radio Buffs later confirmed Tesla's reports, yes there have been 'unknown' objects sighted by Astronomers and Astronauts, but the unknown objects have turned out to be everything from Thermal Blankets off Space Craft to previously classified CIA missions which left objects briefly in earth orbit, even possible discarded parts of British Rocket tests in Australia.

Alas Wireclubbers there is no proof at all of any such object.

chronology: Has there ever been a female Pope? According to legends there was an English woman who was taken to Rome by her lover, after a string of incidents she was crowned as Bishop of Rome. Her name was Joan according to the tradition. It sounds an unlikely story, and officially, the Catholic church says it is nonsense. The idea of a woman, and an immoral woman at that being Pope, is just too much for the old church to even consider. Supposedly Joan ruled the Christian world in 800 AD.

chronology: It is often said that two items of evidence overlooked by Police in the Jack the Ripper Murders could have helped them establish who the murderer, or people acting with the murderer was.

The first was handwriting on a wall next to a bloody apron left by the killer. If the handwriting had been photographed, it could have been analysed for comparison to suspects handwriting. More importantly fingerprints left at the scene and on letters, one fingerprint in particular which is outstandingly clear, were ignored completely.

Fingerprints have had a long history with establishing identity. In Ancient Babylon, Officials and Business people would press their fingerprint onto clay letters to prove it was an authentic clay tablet, in China fingerprints were used thousands of years ago to prove the identity of rich folks children (they of had a lot of children).

Ironically, only 6 years after Jack killed his last victim, a man in Argentina was found guilty by the use of fingerprint evidence, the first man ever to be convicted using such evidence.

Whoever Jack the Ripper was, he walked off into the London fogs, and vanished, fingerprints and all.

chronology: Perhaps no image of America was no more iconic than 'The Cowboy'. With his cowboy hat and gun, the cowboy was depicted as a romantic figure, fearlessly confronting the dangers of 'The Wild West' and fighting Native Americans and Bushwhackers. In reality, the Cowboys often had monotonous long days guiding cattle from Northern Texas to Railroad stations in Kansas. 'Cattle Towns' became a fixture of the Route taken by the Cattle Drives North, and tho not as rough as Mining Towns, the main entertainment offered Cowboys was brothels and Gambling Halls. After months of nonstop work and sleeping rough, eating mostly beans and bacon with Black Coffee, the young Cowboys would Bath, Shave, get a Haircut, then head for some fun. It was while having fun that the Cowboys faced their greatest dangers on the Trail, gonorrhea and syphilis.

But not everyone was as happy to see the Cow Herds as the Madams and Drinking Bars, local Farmers along the way often yelled at Cowboys to keep their cattle away from their property due to the damage done by cattle to their crops, the illnesses brought north by Texas Longhorns that local Cattle had no immunity to. Wildlife along the route also suffered from the overgrazing by Longhorns, it was a common sight in Winter along the cattle trail to see Wolf Packs waiting for a Deer or Chinook to collapse from hunger so they could tuck in to a easy meal.

One truly awesome danger most Cowboys dreaded, but lived with every day was the 'Stampede'. For a Cowboy riding alongside a Herd, he always had to judge his distance from the Herd in case of a Stampede. In a blink of an eye, hundreds of Longhorns would lunge to the left or right, trampling anything in their path, including a horse and rider.

chronology: Sir Lou Grade, the English Movie Tycoon had an old saying, he would shrug his shoulders and sigh; 'people are people', but when people are gripped with Mass Hysteria, they can become very strange people indeed.

'The Penis Thieves of Nigeria'. In 1990, thousands of men across Nigeria became convinced their Penises were being stolen by 'Penis Thieves'. Usually the incidents would begin with a man walking in a street and bumping into someone, men said they 'felt a warm rush in their rectum as a Penis thief shoved his hand inside them and grabbed their penis and stole it'. Some unfortunate Guy would then be accused of being a Penis thief by the man and a crowd would gather. The men robbed of their Penises would then strip to prove it was gone, but (surprise) their Penises were still there, but the victims would accuse the Penis thief of quickly putting a smaller Penis back when they were discovered stealing the original Penis.
It all sounds like a joke gone viral, but thousands of men were beaten by mobs in Nigeria, and some supposed Penis thieves were beaten to death. Surprisingly, some Media commentators were supporting the idea there really were Penis thieves in Nigeria, despite the innocent people being killed. Fear of Penis robbers grew so widespread in Nigeria, men would walk around in public grasping their Penises and even women began to fear 'Breast thieves' and would clutch their breasts when in public.

But folks in the U.S. are only average in their Potato preference eating around 100 pounds of Potatoes a year, Irish folks eat on average three times as many spuds per year as the average American family, and Ugandans nosh an amazing ten times as many spuds as the average American.

Globally the Potato growing industry has gone through dramatic changes since 1990. China now grows almost a third of all Potatoes in the world, and people in Asia are developing a taste for the humble spud.

chronology: 'OK' is the most commonly used in the world, it seems to turn up everywhere meaning; 'alright' 'I'm fine' 'no problems'.

But few people know the origin of this odd word. 'OK' was first used in Boston Newspapers in the 1830s, it was an inside joke among the Editors, it meant 'All Correct', and was placed on Pages of the Newspaper to signify the page had been checked for spelling mistakes and accuracy.

'OK' now took a jump from Boston to Washington where proof readers in the White House scribbled 'OK' on speeches and other White House Paperwork. Telegraph Operators now took up the word in their transmissions, and probably did more than anyone els to give the word it's modern meaning.

Today 'OK' is the most common expression around the world.

chronology: How Hiroshima saved Japan. The use of A Bombs will always be debated, but in the situation of WW2 few people disagree that controversial invention actually saved Japan and the loss of many more lives.

At the point in the war where America was about to invade Japan, Tokyo was divided into two factions in the Government. One faction insisted America could not invade Japan, and would not invade due to the cost in casualties, the other faction believed negotiating with Washington was the only option left to Japan.
But it was the 'hold out' faction that had the upper hand in the Japanese Government. The 'hold out' group was convincing itself that the American invasion fleet steaming towards Japan was not even real, they talked up the viewpoint that the U.S.A. was sailing mostly fake ships and a 'dummy fleet' to bluff Japan into surrender.
For the 'Negotiate Terms' group, they saw a terrible reality ahead, America now had control of the skies above Japan and was preparing for devastating air activity that would see hundreds of thousands of incendiary bombs dropped if U.S. Peace offers were ignored.
Incredibly, even after Hiroshima, the hold out faction in Tokyo still did not accept the inevitable, they managed to convince themselves there had been no U.S. Bomb, the Americans had somehow performed a trick. They sent scientists to check the soil in Hiroshima and confirm some kind of weapon had been used.

chronology: 'Six California's'. California is one of the largest and richest most technologically advanced States in the world, but some Californians see that as a disadvantage, not advantage to Californians. What they suggest is California be broken up into Six States, each with it's own budget and two Senators.

Before such a radical move can be even voted on, it must be first shown to have popular support, such as a Signature Petition, over a million people in 'Cali' just signed such a Petition. One man spoke of his experience signing the Petition; 'I was approached by a very engaging, very attractive well dressed young woman who asked me to sign two Petitions I was interested in, she then pulled out the 'Six California's' Petition and asked me to sign that'.
So whoever is organising the collection of signatures certainly is professional and savvy, that would not have gone unnoticed in Washington or Sacramento.

Californians are, as expected, divided on the plan to break up the State. While most Californians enjoy the prestige of being Americas wealthy and powerful trailblazer, others say the State is long overdue an overhaul of it's political boundaries reflecting the needs of each districts population.

Small, very wealthy, groups of activists in Silicon Valley are said to be behind the push to redefine California, they changed the entire world with the Internet, they may change California.

davidk14: .

Long before Silicon Valley became the center of the universe :chuckle: , there were those that wanted to divide the state into Northern and Southern which made perfect sense at the time.

There is no surprise to cutting it up even more. California now has 38 million...The entire country of Canada has 35 million with 13 provinces and territories. Breaking California up makes perfect sense.

chronology: Caligula's Ghost'. History tells us how Caligula died. He was stood talking to some young Actors who worked at his Palace when one of his guards came up behind him and smashed him over the head with a sword shouting 'take that'! An Roman Army Officer then stabbed Caligula with his sword so did another Guard. Caligula then staggered out into the Gardens of the Palace he was stabbed in shouting 'I am still alive'. That was not a smart move, the Guards then ran at him and stabbed him 30 times.

Caligula's body was then carried to some gardens on Palatine Hill and partly burned then dumped in a shallow unmarked grave.

Romans thought they had seen the last of the cruel leader, but not so. Every night after his death, the Palace he was slain in was the scene of ghostly apparitions connected with his death.
It was probably this reason that Caligula's sisters had his body dug up and properly burned and the ashes buried when they returned from banishment.

But still it seems, Caligula's supposed apparition would not rest. An American visitor to the ruins of the Palace in the 19th century said ghostly occurrences still happened in the ruins, so much so Roman guides who were at the ruins refused to walk in the grounds and show them around because of fear of the ghosts.

chronology: Well Wireclubbers you may have let your mind wander sometime and asked yourself; 'how will the world end'?

Well according to some people, a Mystical Leader will appear on every TV all around the world and will send you Telepathic Messages of love peace and friendship and usher in the end of the world as we know it. A little different from the orgy of death torture and world wide mass murder predicted by the other world religions.

It seems the Mystical Leader is claimed to be working in a Bangaladeshi restaurant in East London, either washing dishes or waiting tables, but hey he has to fill in the time before becoming worshipped by every human on earth.

The Cult who believe all this only has a few thousand followers at the moment, but given human behaviour in the past, it may grow into something world wide.

How the world will end?

When Mother Nature says so.

The planet was a molten ball of rock and it survived. I think the planet will survive humans. It survived the dinosaurs and a meteor that destroyed most everything.

And most likely, in 4 billion years, the planet will be consumed by the sun as it runs out of energy and expands and then....adios MF.

He imported 500 Monkeys from Panama and divided them into 10 groups of 50 with a foreman in charge of each group. He then let the Monkeys loos. The critters scampered up into the trees and ........... stayed there. They loved their work and munched Plumbs till there were none to munch, but never dropped any for harvest.
