chronology: Stepping out.

One of the best known names in Punk Rock is Sid Vicious. Sid certainly lived a wild life. He woke up one day from drug soaked stupor to find his girlfriend knifed to death in New York City. As he slowly came awake he then realised it may have been him who killed her when he was stoned.

He told friends no way could he take 10 years on Rykers Island. His Lawyer was upbeat saying that there was a good chance a drug dealer knifed the girlfriend when he called around with the junk.

But according to Sid's mom, he wanted out of the entire situation so she purchased Sid the drugs he used to kill himself. Later, one man claimed Sid's mom told him that she actually mixed up the drugs then injected them into Sid to kill him.

Don't know wireclubers, Sid was drugged up much of the time, his mom was also stoned quite a lot, and Sid's girlfriend was a hard core drug user from Philly. Can anyone really believe anything any of these people have to say about anything?

chronology: London Calling, ding dong ding dong.

The BBC broadcast the chimes of Big Ben for the first time this date 1923.
Big Ben has now been renamed The Queen Elizabeth Tower.

One odd point about the BBC broadcasting Big Ben's bells was people in New York City heard the chimes of Big Ben before most folks in London.
Radio waves travel at light speed to New York. While in London sound waves from the bells roll slowly over the big city.

chronology: The clock ticks towards midnight, and Great Britain leaves the EU.

Most people in Britain have zero interest what happens at midnight. But for millions of middle class people in England, leaving Europe is a huge disappointment. Often they own property in Europe, and they have established real friendships with people in the countries where they spend long relaxing winter breaks. There is also the loss of high quality Health Care in Europe.

But wireclubers, people who love something will always find a way to be with the people they love. And it seems Legal Eagles are working hard to find loopholes. One loophole at the moment appears to be Dual Citizenship. If a person is entitled to citizenship of a EU country, then they will be exempt from travel restrictions in Europe upon taking up Citizenship. Many people with connections to Ireland can apply for an Irish Passport. They can then stay and visit Europe as often as they like. People with husbands or wives from an EU country can apply for a passport from their wives homeland.

The reason people don't just move to Europe and apply for citizenship there is the problem with Taxes and other restrictions on saving in Europe. Britain is very 'money friendly' even if many middle class folks have their true heart across the English Channel.

So wireclubers there may be a happy ending to the Brexit story after all. In a real embarrassment to Britain's Prime Minister, his father applied for French citizenship as Brexit approaches.

Gaining Dual citizenship is said to be very streight forward. Unlike applying for full citizenship. The long drawn out process of becoming a citizen of European countries puts many people off applying.

Zanjan: I think it's time to clear up that mess. We should push for Vanilla Passports. This could be a separate department.
Anyone can apply, regardless of their domain. However, unlike regular citizen passports, they would be required to submit full criminal checks, fingerprints, a credit score, vaccination record, and medical clearance. Then they could travel anywhere until they screw up their record and the passport is withdrawn.

Sound good?

chronology: London and Edinburgh, who will blink first?

Patriotic Scott's are already hailing 2021 as the year Scotland votes for Independence. 'Keep a light on for us, we will be home soon' is a common slogan by Scottish patriots to Europeans.

But just a minute, it is not clear if Scotland can have a referendum yet. Ms Nicola Sturgeon, Scotland senior Lawmaker is being urged to go 'toe to toe' with Boris Johnson and not to blink first as she demands a referendum. And then Scotland can return to the EU in no time at all.

Scott's are highly educated, have numerous skilled workers, and a Trillion Dollar Oil pot in the North Sea. To say Europeans would welcome them with open arms is a understatement.

Not surprisingly, Boris Johnson will do everything he can to keep Scotland in the UK. Wales is also hoping for independence, but it will have little effect on Britain if it left. Whereas the loss of Scotland would be the end of the UK.

chronology: Northern Ireland and The Republic of Ireland keep open boarders.

Open Boarders were seen as vital to many Brexit planners in order to maintain a relaxed atmosphere between Ireland and Ulster and maintain the prosperity of the Peace Process.
However goods entering Belfast from Britain will need Customs Papers as a result of the Open EU Boarder. Probably a similar arrangement to Gibraltar.

Should Scotland decide to become independent in a referendum this year, Scotland will have the same EU customs regulations with England , but no checks on goods to and from Ulster and Scotland.

Zanjan: The problem there is the decision whether or not to reactivate Scotland's monarchy; if so, it's rightful heir would be Franz Bonaventura Adalbert Maria Herzog von Bayern. However, Queen Elizabeth 11 is a direct descendant of the Royal House of Stewart so she also has some claim.

Oh dear, it's back to the Game of Thrones unless they vote for the continuance of a constitutional monarchy under Queen Elizabeth. Wales should be ashamed of itself for wanting to split the country even further. If they can't get along with each other, they sure don't have the wherewithal to get along with themselves. Running away doesn't solve anything.

All said, there is no real independence.

chronology: All good points zan. Scotland is proud and confident at the moment. But like you I don't see the point of going Indie. They say England is declining fast as a country and they don't want to be dragged down with it when it goes down like the Titanic. I think they are being too dramatic. England has been declining for the last 100 years. Scotland still has high standards of living and culture, why go Indie? Wales makes no difference to anyone except people in Wales, no offence to them. We would not even notice when they go. But 'Bonnie Scotland' would be a real blow to England when they go.

chronology: Big foot visits England.

While it seems reasonable to accept that some kind of odd animal's can be seen in the vast open spaces of America or Russia. It is a little difficult to imagine huge cryptids running around England. With virtually no real wild countryside to speak off, England just seems a unlikely place for big foots.

But hundreds of people have claimed to see the big creature in forest and Moor land.

Sorry wireclubers, but the stories just sound like people who were targets for practical jokes.

Big cats however have been seen often in England, but are still a mystery. The animals are the size of leapards.

chronology: OK wireclubers, got a 100,000 dollars or around that amount? Then why not drop in on the Titanic this year?

Visits to the sunken liner have been going on for years, but Covid led to a suspension in mini sub visits.

Hollywood Director James Cameron actually spent more time on the Titanic than the passengers did in 1912. He made repeated dives to the wreck.

Lawmakers in Washington DC never believed the story told to them during the Inquiry into the sinking of Titanic. In the years since it seems Washington Officials were correct to doubt the story. But even today the real story of what happened that April night is still disputed.

chronology: As 2022 begins wireclubers, the mystery of whether Elvis really did die in 1977 continues.

When the 'Elvis lives' conspiracy theory began it was ridiculed widely in the media.
But even as 2022 begins there are still odd stories that began after Elvis reportedly died being circulated. One expert is emphatic Elvis never died in 1977. 'I don't know if Elvis is alive now, but am absolutely certain he never died in 1977' she observed.
Well maybe wireclubers, but for hundreds of millions of Elvis fans around the world, they will need proof before they are convinced he never died in 77. Perhaps the most reasonable comment on Elvis lives stories is we just don't know. But it does seem difficult for a man like Elvis not to have been noticed. People who met him all say he was a man who radiated Southern charm and charisma. You just liked him when you met him. George Harrison recalled meeting Elvis was like being in the presence of Krishna or some other god would feel.
Doubt if someone with that kind of Mojo could stay hidden all these years.

chronology: 60 years ago today Cuba and America begin a dispute which still simmers between the two neighbours.

Washington DC and Havana had begun to disagree on a number of political and economic decisions by Cubas new ruler, Fidel Castro. Mr Castro had not been a communist when he took power in Cuba. But as his disputes with the United States grew, he began engaging in openly Pro Soviet actions. Among them printing and shipping pro communist leaflets to be distributed in neighbouring Latin American countries. As America was locked in a Cold War with Russia at the time, this was seen as openly hostile to the USA. America responded with Trade Decisions that cut Cubas National Income. Cuba went full on and responded by nationalising American businesses in Cuba. Neither the United States or Cuba showed any interest in backing down. And for the last 60 years both countries have dug in.

At first Washington was confident Cuba could be reigned in. The country was tied to the USA economically. Oil in perticular was vital to Cuba. And Russia had no Oil Tankers. But in a ironic twist of fate, a shipping line that supplied Tankers to ship Oil to Cuba from the USA pointed out their contracts with Havana were pretty much unbreakable without being taken to court and being sued big time for big bucks. So Russian Oil began flowing to Cuba via tankers provided by Western Shipping.

And today the dispute simmers on between Washington and Havana. Mr Obama did much to sooth relations between the two neighbours.

chronology: Julian Assage staying in Britain.

A Judge has ruled that Mr Assage would find detention in the United States to be too distressing and he will be held in Britain.

The decision has received mixed comments. While Mr Assage supporters are cheering the decision, other people point out Mr Assage was involved somehow in the biggest ever heist of confidential data in the history of the United States. American Authorities they say have at least the Right to formally question Assage in America and ask for a full explanation of his actions. Whether you think Assage a hero or villain, someone who may have knowledge of the wholesale looting of United States Government data at the very least should explain his actions in a American Court.

chronology: This date in 1919 'The German Worker's Party' was formed in Germany. It would soon be renamed 'The National Socialist German Worker's Party' .

The new Party spent most of its meetings discussing interests of German Nationalism, but was also preoccupied with hating Jewish people who were being blamed at the time for Germany's defeat in WW1. German's at the time were convinced that Jewish Banker's had stabbed Germany in the back by refusing to lend any more money to Germany. The real problem was German soldiers and Patriots saw the undefeated German Army and it's still confident loyal soldiers ready to carry on the fight against the Allies. They knew Germany could win any battle the Allies could throw at them. What Patriotic German's did not see was the power of Great Britain's Royal Navy. The Navy had by the end of the war a total strangle hold on all German shipping and trade routes. Berlin could see no point in continuing hostilities so made the first moves towards Peace, which ended in surrender. But for German Patriot's, the Jewish Banker's were the real reason for Germany's humiliation.
Adolf Hitler would join the Party in September. Like other Party member's he was seething with hatred for Jewish people. Even Hitler never saw the real reason for defeat. Fresh from Front Line trenches, he saw a undefeated German Army, he never saw England's awesome Naval Power in total control of the world's seas.

chronology: Park Ranger's may have new committments in the future.

National Park Service Ranger's have a seemingly endless check list of jobs to perform, but in the future that list may be weird.

According to some observers, giant Woolly Mammoth's may soon be roaming again in the chilly northern National Parks. And to keep the number of Mammoth's in check, Sabre toothed Tigers will be introduced to stalk them. Meanwhile in Florida, the Dodo bird will be roaming in warm National Parks. And in Swamp's, giant snakes will be slithering about.

All of the above animals are expected to be cloned in the near future. Mammoth's are expected to be back from extinction in less than ten years. But can this really happen? Or is it just fantasy? No it is definitely real, and possible right now. While most of these exotica will wind up in zoos, some will be introduced into the wild. And for the NPS that will be a major problem.

The Sabre toothed Tiger for instance is way too dangerous to allow humans anywhere near it. And if the Dodo returns with his old 'devil may care' predisposition, car driver's in Florida are going to be road raging Park Ranger's after crashing into the bird's as they jay walk across road's.

Park Service Officials in Washington DC are probably as excited as everyone else at all this adventure with past animals returning. But they know better than anyone how much disruption these returnees from extinction will cause.
