chronology: The Kraken, still a mystery of the Deep.

It was not until 2005 that a live Giant Squid was photographed, and only 7 years ago that the legendary Kraken was actually filmed alive.

But we still know next to nothing about the Giant Squid. There may be millions of them living deep in the Oceans. We now know squid are among the most intelligent animals alive. But what they get up to deep down in the cold seas is anyone's guess.

chronology: Australia stunned by war crime's allegations.

Australia has a deep pride in it's Armed Forces. And around the world Aussie's are respected as brave stand up guy's who fight to the end in battle. The kind of men and women any country would be proud to call their soldiers.

But Australia has been rocked by stories of alleged war crime's of a cowardly nature that most Australian men and women would think impossible for their fine brave men in uniform. Even worse, it is the best of the best in Australian Forces who are being accused of the crime's.

Australians are frankly stunned by the accusations. Australian senior Military Officers have commented that this behaviour is not what Australia stand's for and if true needs to be faced up to.

The alleged crime's are said to involve Afghan prisoners bring tired up and machine gunned to death.

Senior Australian Military Officers have begun an inquiry into the supposed offenses. Other Elite Force's members are accused of covering up the crime's.

It is worth remembering Aussie's are legendary for their courage and fair conduct in war. Not for actions they are being accused of.

Niagara Falls looks plain in the nude. When dressed in her flowing water, Niagara Falls is a beautiful spot, but remove the water and she looks like a super model without make up.

In 1969 the falls were drained to carry out survey work. And the Falls looked pretty rough. Just a jagged low low cliff and a pile of rocks at the bottom.

But hey, what was found in the dry landscape beneath the Falls? well, apart from thousands of coins thrown in for good luck, nothing. Two skeletons were recovered, both human. With 5000 people estimated to have died at the Falls that seemed a low. number.

But at least the survey was carried out, and Authorities now know how the situation is at the Falls.

Chris Hedges says America has two factions that are both faith based, and both totally intolerant each other. Fundamentalist Christians, and Fundamentalist Atheists. Both groups are stuck in tunnel vision.

At a time when America needs unity more than ever, the last thing America needs is a new battle of believers. Even when one of the sides believes in nothing.

chronology: Was Walmart really frustrated by Brexit?

Walmart's selling of it's British subsidiary Asda was surprising to many people. The business was profitable, the company was popular, everyone seemed happy with the big friendly company, so did Walmart decide to move on?

Some have speculated that the real reason behind the sale of it's British subsidiary was the chaotic environment for the retail industry created by Brexit.

Retailers are having to reorganize their suppliers on a huge scale, and while Walmart met the challenging new environment with skill and professionalism, the seemingly never ending negotiations and uncertainty surrounding the continued Brexit negotiations have been speculated to prompt Walmart to move on.

The company is not alone in moving forward, hundreds of other businesses have as well.

According to some business watchers, the final consideration for Walmart was it's reported upcoming battle with Amazon. The huge Digital retailer has amazed everyone with it's stunning success in retail sales and TV channels and High Tech.

For Walmart it is said to be 'all hand's on deck' as they face a global battle with Amazon. Having to constantly recognise their British subsidiary due to Brexit was taking up the skills of top Staff needed for the speculated Amazon struggle.

chronology: Alaskan skies safer than ever.

Those beautiful mountains, those majestic forests, the sparse population, Alaska has it all. And nearly a thousand air crashes from 1990 to 1995.

Washington DC was becoming so alarmed at the number of fatalities in air crashes that Federal Government Offices began a crisis investigation into why so many people were dieing. A typical crash in Alaska usually involved two aircraft just flying into each other at small Airfields. With no RADAR and often no radios small plane's in Alaska were highly prone to collision with other plane's. Appalling weather added to the crisis giving Alaska pilot's legendary status around the world as virtual stunt pilot's.
Washington DC had given the State a free hand due to the necessity of plane transport in the region, but with aircraft dropping from the sky every week it was time for Federal oversight.

The solution to Alaska's sky crisis was improved radio communication, GPS, and better training for Pilot's, especially in awareness of other aircraft. .

The result was a shining success for Federal Agencies. Death rates have been slashed, and flying in Alaska is safer than ever.

chronology: Che Guevaras Brave New World.

Many young folks still love their Che T Shirts. But some feel with all the statue removing being done, it is time to remove Che's image from a few buildings and walls as well. Why?

Well apart from being directly responsible for at least 100 executions of people accused of being sympathetic to Government Agencies like the Army or Police, Che was also pathological about his hatred of Gays.

He was openly hostile to Gay people insisting they be blacklisted in workplaces and job applications. He also directed they be detained in work camps where beatings and harsh treatment were common.

So what do Ghe's supporters respond to these comments? well they say Che did indeed insist that Gays be detained in labour Camps, but that was because they could not serve in the military. Jehovas Witnesses were also detained in the camps.

And what about the 100 people he is personally linked with killing? well his daughter says that during social upheavals such as revolutions, people are killed, it is a sad fact.

Don't know wireclubbers. People can try and whitewash the image of Che all they like, but there does seem to be no doubt he was very comfortable with persecuting Gay people, and his diaries make it clear he never lost a wink of sleep after having a few people shot in the the head before going to bed. Fair enough he may be a notable person in history, but glamourising his image is surely offensive to those who suffered from his ruthless disposition.

Folks on the left insist he was a product of his time and place. But no one is above the law Zan. All his life Robert Maxwell faced legal action for reportedly murdering a Mayor in Germany just after the war. Some say he was about to be charged with murder just before he vanished from his boat. Makes you wonder if Cuba would have had to charge Che with murder.

However there is still hardcore opposition to the idea of a pardon.

Blackshoes: Don't get me wrong I do not agree with the premise of the following site However, I thought it was an interesting read

"52. Plenty of the Most Interesting or Successful People Have Named It As One of the Worst Things That Ever Happened to Them
Paul Orfalea was called a loser and an underachiever by his school, and he was convinced he would die in a homeless shelter as an adult, since clearly, he was a useless idiot. After graduating dead last in his class, he decided to become a self-made billionaire and one of the greatest business innovators of his day by founding Kinko’s.

Ray Kroc, the man responsible for turning the tiny McDonald Brother’s burger shop into a fast food empire with more global reach than Gengis Khan could have hoped for, was so bored and frustrated by his high school that one day at the age of sixteen he announced to his mother that he was leaving school forever – he was tired of having his time wasted.

David Lynch, master of American surrealism and the best-known avant-garde filmmaker of the last 40 years, had this to say on “education” as we’ve defined it, “School was a crime against young people. It destroyed the seeds of liberty. The teachers didn’t encourage knowledge or a positive attitude.”

Shigesato Itoi, creator of the cult-hit “Earthbound” game for the Super Nintendo, already insecure from his complicated homelife, felt school to be a stultifying, desolate place. In very un-Japanese fashion, Itoi neglected his studies and turned to comic books, delicious herbs and the Beatles in order to escape (something he later gave credit for helping him to develop his unique creative style). He is the only man Mario and Legend of Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto has called a genius.

And most famously, for Thomas Edison, school was pure “torture.”

He dropped out at age 11. Presumably, he became a meth-addict and fast food employee."

chronology: Dyatlov Pass Tragedy still a mystery.

Even today if you ever applied for a visa to wander around the remote places in Russia, Civil Servants in Moscow will do their best to talk you out of your expedition. It is not that Russia is hiding anything, or that the people you will meet are unfriendly, but as the Civil Servants know, it is easy to meet with an accident in the vast open spaces. Where the Dyatlov ski group died, you could drive for a thousand miles and not see a single person. People are very thin on the ground. So no surprise that after 61 years there is still no answer to how 9 skiers died while camping.

Today the main suspicion for the deaths fall on the Soviet Army. The theory is that the Soviet Troops were involved in a secret test of some sort and suspected the group as being spies. At least one of the group had a fake identity. Local people believe that the group fell foul of people smuggling. They were escaping to the West and were double crossed by the smugglers.

These ideas may sound far fetched, but frankly conspiracy theorists are stumped by the mystery. And harsh questioning KGB Agents and double crossing people smugglers are amongst the only ideas left.

chronology: This date in 1649 Oliver Cromwell destroyed Wexford in Ireland.

Cromwells attack on the Irish Town became infamous for the brutality shown to the Irish prisoners and civilians. Around 3000 were massacred.

Part of the reason for the slaughter was the change in warfare at the time. Defence walls of the town were vulnerable to the new more powerful cannon's.

But for many Irish folks, the bloodbath in Wexford was just another example proving Cromwell was an unbalanced psychotic.

Some Irish historians doubt if Cromwell was responsible for the mass killing. His men were not acting on his orders, they simply forced their way into the town as a Mob after the walls had been breached by cannon fire and began killing anyone they found.

chronology: Mussolini was not amused.

Think of Italy and most people think of fine wine, big churches, excellent pizzas, and beautiful sports cars.

A little known fact about the southern European country is that it is and always has been a leading aviation nation. Italy has always been among the trail blazers of aviation.

During WW2 Mussolini was informed of curious fast flying aircraft that would out fly the Italian Air Force. Now this was annoying to the Italian leader. He wanted to know how the Americans and British were managing to build planes that could outfly Italian planes.

In fact what the Italian Air Force had been chasing was UFOs. Italian Authorities just assumed Americans had somehow built more advanced aircraft than they had. At the time Italy was the only country with a jet fighter plane, so they wondered how the Americans could have built one that could could fly accross Italy.

Folks in the USA were well aware of Italy's secret advanced jet fighters and just assumed the UFOs were Italian.

For nearly a thousand years Babylon had been the centre of civilisation in the Middle East Region, and for hundreds of years had been the greatest city on earth, and the centre of religion and commerce and politics.

The details of the fall of Babylon are difficult to agree on because historians claim different stories as true. Some say that the army of Cyprus just walked into the city without any fighting. Others claim there was a battle outside the city.

Either way, it was the end of an era for the world's greatest ever city.

chronology: No it is not the SS Cotopaxi.

The last anyone saw of the SS Cotopaxi was when she set off from North Carolina headed for Cuba with a cargo of Coal.

A few days later she vanished during a storm off Florida. But a few years ago a Ghost ship seen drifting around Cuba was claimed to be the Cotopaxi which had some claimed mysteriously appeared again.

Well, is this the Bermuda triangle up to it's old tricks again. Definitely not, said American and Cuban Coast Guard Authorities. They were not certain of the rotting hulks identity, or at least were not saying, but it was not the Cotopaxi.

Well the Bermuda triangle believers had to stop touting the ship as proof of a supernatural vortex a few months ago when diver's from the U.S. claimed to have found the Cotopaxi off the Florida coast. They could only use the size of the old ships boiler's to identify her, and a few other items found at the wreck site. But they are pretty sure it is her.

Officially both Cuban and American Coast Guard Authorities do not even recognize the name'Bermuda Triangle' .
