chronology: Michael Collins, hero fallen in battle, or victim of assassination?

Amongst Irish folks there is often a pretty spirited debate over just how General Michael Collins was killed.
Ireland's official history seems a pretty reasonable explanation of how the national hero died that day. Gen Collins was in a convoy that passed through a village in Ireland during a violent period after Ireland's struggle for independence. A man from a rival faction noticed the General in the convoy and prepared for an ambush when it drove back through the district.
Sure enough the convoy was ambushed and the General shot in the head. It seems a reasonable explanation, a done deal explanation, as they say in the United States. So what are some people claiming really happened? Well some claim the General was shot by one of his own men during the gun battle. Another person claims a IRA man took a pot shot at the General and hit him.

Most mainstream history buffs in Ireland are just not buying the alt history claims. They say there is zero proof for the claims, and the accepted history is the most likely explanation.

But for some folks in the Emerald Isle there will always be mystery to the Generals death.

chronology: Zoo Parties, a secret world.

Most people in Britain had never heard of Zoo Parties until a 64 year old woman was described in Court as having engaged in sex with dogs, then indulged in a orgy with the dogs owners.

Limited ability Auto Pilot car's are here now. On long stretches of uncomplicated roads, auto pilot can handle the driving safely enough. But full self driving cars that can take you anywhere are still a long way off.

Future cars that can be programmed to learn your rout to and from work, or to and from shops etc will likely be available in a few years.

chronology: Could future Chinese Astronaut's see American ghost's on the Moon?

First, China is considered the most likely nation to lead all future exploration on the Moon. Mars is now being considered beyond the reach of any single country, so an international team will be expected to visit Mars.

But will future Chinese Astronaut's possibly see ghost's of American Astronaut's on the American Landing site's on the Moon?

Paranormal investigators say Chinese visitors to the Moon in the future are more likely to see 'timeslips' of Americans at American Landing site's, not the ghosts of men like Neill Armstrong.

We still have no idea what timeslips are, but they seem to be replays of past events that are somehow recorded in the atoms of a location. In London and York England, people still see Roman Army soldiers marching in ranks where they did 2000 years before.

So it would appear to be possible atoms on the moon landing sites will somehow replay American Astronaut's walking around.

You can imagine a future Chinese message from the Moon saying 'There is a American playing golf at one of their old landing site's' .

chronology: Knock, Knock, who is there?

Jehovah's witness first ever edition of the Watchtower newspaper is published. The JWs will soon begin gathering in Bible study groups, they will preach that the end of the world is any minute.

Jehovah's witnesses along with Pentecostal groups and others are denounced as fanatics and Cults by some people. But both goups say they are the true followers of God giving the true message. They believe they will find eternal bliss for their devotion to their faith.

chronology: 150 years ago today the United States Department of Justice is reorganized to administer Legal criminal cases in the South. The DoJ was energetic and successful in Prosecuting Ku Klux Klan members resisting Reconstruction in the South. But the DoJ was was soon overwhelmed with criminal cases.
But the DoJ demonstrated it was serious in promoting Human Rights in the South.

chronology: This date in 2001 Patti Adkins disappears in Ohio.

The case fascinates some true Crime buffs. Some buffs speculate Patti ran away after being rebuffed in a potential romance, others believe Patti was murdered or, more likely, died in some accidental way.

Ohio Authorities have considered there is not enough evidence to give a definitive answer to the mystery.

chronology: Ghslaine Maxwell arrested by Federal Agent's.

FBI Agent's have arrested Ms Maxwell in New Hampshire. She is accused of being connected to Jeffery Epstein's alleged sex romps.

Ms Maxwell denies any wrong doing, she says she has been in hiding because of threat's from deranged people threatening her life. Wild media stories of sex parties in luxurious super rich surroundings have been made about the Epstein case.

chronology: No Jeff was not a SEAL.

The Web is buzzing with social media exchanges about a photograph supposedly showing Jeffery Epstein in a Navy SEAL Dress Uniform.

Well the photograph seems genuine, and former U.S. Navy Staff say that the SEAL Badge is genuine, so are the medals Jeff is wearing. So how did he wind up in a SEAL uniform?

Well the photo comes from a Fancy Dress Party held in London in 2001 . A number of Princesses were present, so Jeff probably thought he would wow them in a SEAL outfit.

As far as anyone can tell Jeff was never in any of the U.S. Armed Services. Navy SEALS have not commented yet on the photograph. But if it was simply a harmless Fancy Dress Party then they would probably not be offended. SEALS are legendary for their own Service Parties, but SEALS only abuse alcohol and not underage girls.

chronology: China on target for 2030 AI Global Leadership.

China has stated it plans to be a world leader in AI by,2030. The United States is still the world leader by a long way, but some analysts expect China to catch up with the United States by 2025 and see China as a global leader by it's target date of 2030.

But just'what' exactly is China planning to use AI for? Well so far China is using AI for all the same activities as other countries are. Telecommunications, security, and medical applications etc.

A dimension of China's AI development that unsettles Americans is the security aspects. Without demonising China in any way, China does not have the same Human Rights preoccupations that the United States has. As a result, the idea of a advanced AI system able to literally monitor every person in China 24/7 365 is a ability that could be open to abuse say Human Rights advocates.
The United States has pretty much a similar ability, but Law Enforcement in the United States use gathered data to 'mine' for evidence of criminal investigations. In China it is expected that the AI surveillance will be real time and unlikely to require Judge granted Warrants permitting such scrutiny of live real time data.
But China is confident that the benefits of AI such as access to a wider range of medical procedures for most people out weigh any concerns over privacy.

Virtual Reality will probably be one of the beneficiaries of China's AI surge.

chronology: How Brexit and Corona Virus landed Ghislaine in Jail.

Firstly, no one is accusing Ghislaine Maxwell of any wrongdoing here. But for years now she has been apparently avoiding Lawyer's attempting to serve Legal Paper's in Civil Claims Law Suites.

Reportedly Ghislaine has already paid out millions in compensation money, and naturally may be unwilling to pay out still more.

With Britain part of Europe she would have found it easy moving around castles and posh homes in France and elsewhere in Europe. But after Brexit her being British would have placed restrictions on her movements. Her real downfall seems to have been the Corona lockdown. With very few people moving between countries she was like a fish trapped in a pool of water after high tide.

But Ghislaine may well have avoided being arrested if she could have avoided Civil Papers being served. Howard Hughes was no reclusive crackpot. Howard managed to avoid paying taxes for decades in some States, and he avoided being served Civil Papers in over a dozen Court Cases. But then Howard had one of the biggest fortunes on earth and the world's most advanced air craft and hi tech. He also had a Hobo stand in who was living a vigrants dream of high class prostitute's, 5 star food, and all the booze he wished for.

chronology: Ghislaine Maxwell settles into Prison.

According to Prison Officers who work at Merrimack County Jail, the job gives them mixed feelings. Some say the pay could be better, but there are health care benefits and pensions. And best of all some say is the free work lunch. Saves having to make a lunch box up every day.
But right now the prison is centre stage due to Ghislaine Maxwell being held there. Although most Officers in the jail probably wonder why she is in prison as her charges are pretty low key stuff compared to most prisoners.
But for the Prison staff the real problem will be confidentiality of the prisoner at the moment. Ghislaine grew up around Bob Maxwell , a man said to have been a high ranking Mossad Agent who is claimed to have had intimate knowledge of many events from the Independence war of Israel, to the attack on the U.S.S. Liberty. Mr Maxwell was also said to have had intimate knowledge of many powerful people over the year's, so how much Ghislaine knows about all this is anyone's guess.

Staff at the Prison say they often get prisoners who they know nothing about. The prisoner's names are fake they say, and nothing is said about their charges. Staff conclude that they are witnesses or informants or something. So Ghislaine will be just another person with sensitive knowledge they have to accommodate for a while.

For Ghislaine the cell she will be held in will probably be a culture shock, but the Prison is modern and state of the art.

Prison staff would probably point out that American prisons like other countries prisons have long standing procedure for handling high profile prisoners like Ghislaine. For example, when Mark Chapman was held in prison after reportedly shooting John Lennon, few Prison Staff ever saw Mark. One prisoner at the same prison as Mark said he never saw him once there, and he never met any other prisoner who had seen him in the Prison.

chronology: 'New York's Finest' remembered today.

Slain NYPD Detective Officer Familia has been remembered in a public ceremony today. Detective Familiar's death saddened New Yorkers when details of what a caring mom and daughter she had been came to light after she was killed by a deranged person while on duty. The hard working Detective was a single mom and cared for her elderly mother at home.

chronology: Her Honour Judge Alison Nathan said to be Judge who will oversee Ghislain Maxwell Trial.

Judge Nathan is widely rumoured to be the Judge at what is expected to be a very high profile Trial.

Her Honour Judge Nathan was appointed Federal Judge by President Obama.

chronology: 1897 Airship mystery solved.?

As noted in a previous Trivia Post, the late 1890s had Americans abuzz with sightings of giant Airships across the United States.

To this day it is still not proven just who built the huge craft or why they constructed them.
Whilst many folks in the U.S. still dismiss the Airships sightings as newspaper hoaxes, others are not so sure.
But according to one researcher the builders of the airships were former Civil War buddies from the Union Army. They built the airships near San Francisco and planned to use them for transportation of people.
But sceptics still insist that the stories of airships was BS. They point out that the airships were said to have propellers. The electric motors at the time would have been way too heavy for the airships. Throw in the weight of the batteries and such a propulsion system was impossible.
So what were so many Americans seeing back then? Probably just small blimp like balloons with no propulsion. The huge airships were a media fabrication they say.
A notable point of the era was that the United States had virtually no Federal Government to speak of at that time. As a result there was no checks done of sightings by any agency of government because there were no agencies of Government as such.
One man commented that of the thousands of sightings only one was actually fact checked later.

chronology: Israel to go ahead with annexation of the West Bank.

His Holiness the Pope a few days ago called both representative's of the United States and Israel and expressed his strong objections to the plans by Israel to annex the West Bank. Palestinian residents in the West Bank are furious, to say the very least.

Part of the reason for the Israeli move is most likely the upcoming American elections. Mr Trump is considered the most pro Zionist President ever in the White House. So if Israel is to make it's move, now is the time.

Mr Trump will probably win huge praise from American Zionists, they support Israel absolutely, all the way.

But the rest of the world is likely to object strongly to the Israeli move. Folks in the Emerald Isle will probably see the move as a repeat of the mistake England made by Annexing Ulster when Ireland became independent.

But Israel is eager to go ahead with the move, and American Evangelical Zionists are cheering Israel on.

The Legal Expert's all say Israel is carrying out an illegal action.

It has been a Hundred years since England annexed Ulster. There are still boarder complications and disputes today. It looks like Israel may have problems for a long time ahead.

chronology: An unlucky Street in Hollywood.

This date in 1946 Howard Hughes crashes his spy plane into a street in Hollywood. In the movie 'The Aviator' Howard is seen being saved by a heroic U.S. Marine. The scene in the movie is based on fact. A courageous young Marine ran into the flame's of the plane crash and rescued Howard who was badly injured.

Almost exactly a year later, Bugzy Seagle was murdered in a House just across the road from where Howard almost died in the crash.

chronology: This date in 1947, The Roswell incident. People still travel to Roswell to see where the Flying Saucer is said to have crashed.

chronology: 'Death before Dishonour'

This date in 1944, 2000 Japanese soldiers took part in the biggest Banzai charge of WW2 . Two American Units were taken by surprise and briefly over run by the charging Japanese soldiers, determined to die rather than be captured. Americans were astonished to see wounded and injured Japanese soldiers running behind the charging Japanese soldiers. They were sometimes on crutches and and often just carrying Sharp bamboo sticks for weapon's.
Tho they won the battle, many Americans were left astonished at the bravery of the Japanese.

chronology: This date in 1960 Francis Gary Powers is formally charged with spying in a Moscow Court.

The entire U2 incident is still a mystery. Russia had claimed to have shot Francis down on May 1st. But virtually no one believes that today. The most likely explanation of how Francis smashed his Top Secret Lockheed plane into a Russian field is that engine trouble caused him to descend to level where high flying Soviet Intercepters could fly close enough to to tip his wings over and cause him to crash.
One Soviet Pilot said he accidentally brought Francis down by flying in front of the Lockheed causing wind turbulence to destabilise the U2. In the high thin atmosphere the U2 would drop like a stone.

Francis became a celebrity in Moscow, despite being a prisoner. Moscovites would crowd into the Court Room to catch a glimpse of the American Pilot.

Some photographs of Francis in Court at the time show him in an American military uniform. These are probably fake as Francis was not a member of the U.S. military when he crashed in Russia.

chronology: This date in 1972, The Springhill Massacre. 5 civilians were shot dead in Belfast.

The death's have become a intriguing crime to some people because of speculation of a rogue British Army sniper who may have been a serial killer for his own enjoyment.

Ulster's over worked Royal Ulster Constabulary attempts to solve the crime were frustrated by over work and lack of cooperation from many people.

chronology: 'Maggie invades Afghanistan' .

With all the stories of alleged Russian Bountie Money being paid to Afghan terrorists to kill American Peace Keepers in Afghanistan, it may be worth remembering Afghanistan has always been a region of Western Political posturing.

Lady Thatcher was a often colourful and at times grandstanding politician who could never miss an opportunity for media hype. A episode in Lady Thatcher's term in Office probably gives some insight into the current rumours which probably unsettled some American families with relative's serving in Afghanistan.

Across London in the 1980s huge Billboards appeard just after the Illegal Russian invasion of Afghanistan showing Afghan Fighters with the slogan saying 'don't worry your money will go to good use' . The Afghan Fighters were shown holding big bags of cash supposedly donated in Britain to help them fight the Red Army.
'Maggie' could not resist an opportunity to grandstand, so she headed for the Afghan boarder where she 'invaded' Afghanistan herself by stepping across the boarder for a few minutes.

While the United States incursion into Afghanistan is and was entirely legal and in compliance with UN Law, the Soviet invasion was not. So 'Maggie' saw the crisis as fair game for colourful politicking.

The point is, the entire'money for American blood' is probably nothing more than the media hype Lady Thatcher engaged in in the early 1980s.

Although Lady Thatcher did indeed invade Afghanistan it seems personally in 1982, probably very little cash actually found it's way to Afghan terrorists.

chronology: This date in 1821, the United States takes possession of it's new State of Florida.

When most Americans today think of Florida they think of beautiful beeches and great holidays. They also are impressed by the State's impressive Bridge's. But curiously, the beautiful State of Florida is not even in the top ten States of Bridge construction. Texas hold's the title for the State with the most bridge's.

chronology: Call for new Inquiry into Majella O'Hare tragic death.

There has been a call today for a new Inquiry into the tragic shooting of Majella in 1976. She was shot with two bullet's fired by a British Army patrol in South Armagh. Royal Ulster Constabulary Officer's responded swiftly to the shooting and after investigation charged the soldier with murder.

The soldier who shot Majella insisted he saw a gunman who had shot at him, but there was no supporting evidence of a gunman or shots. Majella was also only 20 feet away from him when she was shot. The tragedy became even more distressing when Majella's father arrived and held her dieing in his arms but was subjected to a stream of abuse and obscenities by the soldiers.

The soldier was originally charged with murder by the RUC, but the Military Police changed the charge to manslaughter, but later that charge was dropped.

Today the family of Majella called for a new inquiry. The soldier who shot Majella shot her with a GPMG machine gun. It looks similar to a M60. The gun is designed to be used on top of vehicles or as a assault support weapon on a battle field. Due to the need for it to be loaded and ready to fire there is only the safety catch preventing a burst of fire.

The Ministry of Defense has issued a apology for the death of Majella.
