chronology: Older Wireclubbers will still have memories of the glamorous Princess Grace of Monaco, the Hollywood Princess who became a European Royal Princess. But if they were waiting to see the Nicolle Kidmann Movie about Princess Grace they may have quite a time to wait. The Royal Family of Monaco have always found Tabloid speculation about Grace's death irritating if not downright offensive, and a Editing dispute has broken out between the Movies owners and it's Director. The Movie Theatre release date has been shelved for the time being while the Editing dispute is resolved.

Some Movie Buffs are not expecting to see the Movie at all in Theatres; 'I always knew it would be a 'straight to DVD' Movie' said one Movie fan.

chronology: 'What walks on four legs in the morning, two legs at noon and three legs in the evening'. Wireclubbers who remember their Greek Classics will remember straight away the answer to that riddle, the most famous riddle ever, it is the 'Riddle of the Sphinx'.

The answer is 'Man'. When born man crawls on all fours, in mid life walks on his two feet and in old age walks with the aid of a walking stick.

The Riddle of the Sphinx was a scene in a Greek Play, it has no connection with the actual Sphinx in Egypt.

chronology: Suppose you were visited by the greatest living man of your time and he offered to grant you one wish, what would be your reply?

There are many versions of this story, but in one the Greek Philosopher Diogenes is sat reading when Alexander The Great walks up to him casting his shadow over the wise old man.
Alexander had long admired the old Philosopher and wanted to meet him personally and grant him a wish.
The old man looked up at Alexander surrounded by dazzling sunlight and replied; 'please step out of my sunlight'.

chronology: While most Americans remember the 2000 Election remember Mr Bush and Mr Gore locked head to head in a battle over Florida Votes, Democratic Party Strategists think of Tennessee as the state that could have won them the 2000 Election, in fact they were convinced it 'should' have won them the Election, making the Florida dispute irrelevant. But Democrats were horrified at a series of attacks in a Media outlet on a Party worker in Tennessee which he felt had smeared his good name and reputation in Tennessee. The Media attacks cost the Dems the 2000 election some Party workers felt, and the member on the receiving end of hostile reporting took the News Company to Court, for a record breaking 160.000.000 Dollars. It took until 2008 for the case to be settled for an undisclosed amount, coupled to a none disclosure agreement.

chronology: Until a few years ago most Americans had never heard of Charles and David Koch, (the name is Dutch, it is pronounced 'Coke;

Charles and David Koch have become the most famous Right Wing reactionaries in America, practically overnight, despite life times of hard work against anything remotely liberal. The brothers are seen as hosting private functions of leading conservatives, sponsoring movements like The Tea Party, contacting Governor Walker to praise his Union busting Laws. But three ideas are most commonly linked to the brothers in politics; little if any taxes, smashing Trade Unions, and no regulations on Business.

Koch Industries is the second largest Industrial Group in America. The Koch family fortune was made in Oil Refineries, Fred, the father of Charles and David discovered a cheaper way to refine crude oil into Gasoline. But Fred was almost put out of Business by rivals who sued him multiple times trying to keep his refining process out of production. So he packed his bags and travelled to a country of up beat business opportunities; the U.S.S.R. He returned to America after three years.

The Koch brothers hatred of Democratic Party policies seems to be genetic. Their father was a Right Winger, and their grandfather was a vocal apponent of Social Safety Nets like Old Age Pensions and wrote against FDRs New Deal.

Not all of the organisations offered sponsorship money by David and Charles welcome their gifts. One Society received 50 letters of complaints when they were offered money from the brothers.

Everyone would like to help a Princess in distress, so when Princess Juliana of the Netherlands faced Constitutional problems with her baby being born outside Holland due to being in exile because of her country being occupied, Sir Winston Churchill became her Knight in shining armour.

Sir Winston quickly passed a Law making the Princesses Hospital Room 'Extra Territorial Status' declaring it Dutch Territory. This meant baby Princess Margriet was born on Dutch soil, meaning there were no complications regarding her Royal status.

chronology: How did the door to Sharon Tate's home find it's way to New Orleans?

Most older Wireclubbers will still remember the shocking pictures of Sharon's Tate's home with 'Pigs' written in her blood on the entrance door.

Trent Reznor years later was in L.A. looking for a house to record an Album in. He moved into Sharon's former home, but insists he knew nothing of it's past when he moved in. One day he was confronted by Sharon's sister who demanded to know if he was exploiting Sharon's death; 'I told her no, but later on I thought about Sharon and how her sister felt and I just broke down and cried'. says Trent.

When he was leaving L.A. he heard the house was being torn down so he asked permission to keep the front door. Today it is in New Orleans in his Nothing Studio.

Chrono....The concept of plutocracy may be advocated by the wealthy classes of a society in an indirect or surreptitious fashion, though the term itself is almost always used in a pejorative or grammatical form of expression that expresses contempt, criticism, hostility, disregard and/or disrespect. There was a time before wireclub that I was 'wealthy' which I was very proud of. I had worked my fingers to the bone. My family benefited greatly of which I am thankful. For you to spew contempt based on what? Seriously.

chronology: David Old Boy you are seeing way more in my Post than I wrote. A Congressman in a speech in Congress said he believed the Koch brothers were proposing an America run by and for the benefit of an Oligarchy of a handful of Super rich families, with all other Americans living in suppressed living standards. Many folks believe the American people deserve to live with the dignity they have worked so hard over the years to achieve for themselves and their families.

The idea there was any 'contempt' for you personally in a sentence of a few words, is frankly beyond me. I wish you success and good fortune in life, same as I wish your country not contempt.

It is sad David how life can 'knock us for six', if this has happened to you am sorry to hear it. I think I mentioned to you one time about a Guy who lost everything. He was doing 'spiffingly' until he developed Multiple Sclorosis. He then lost his job, his wife divorced him and most of his former friends rejected and avoided him. He said he was 'thankful' for his personal tragedy as he 'found Jesus' and was now a born again believer. He also benefits from the social safety net that prevents him from being a homeless person on the street slowly dying.

chronology: 'All Characters in this Motion Picture are fictitious', is a disclaimer we often see in Hollywood Movies.

Hollywood Studios began running the disclaimer on all their Movies after MGM was sued for 1.000.000 dollars in damages for defaming a Russian Princes.

In the Movie 'Rasputin and the Empress' a Princess is suggested to have been raped by the disgusting 'Mad Monk'. A Russian Princess saw the Movie in London and was certain they were referring to her in the Movie.

The Princess took MGM to court and after watching the Movie twice the Jury agreed, it did suggest the Princess was raped by the filthy old geezer. The Princess was awarded 120.000 dollars against MGM in England, later the Princess settled with MGM America 'out of Court' for 1.000.000. dollars.

Post Scriptum. Most women, Princesses or not, would probably have demanded more damages for someone suggesting they had suffered such a fate at the hands of such a man.

chronology: When you see the Yellow Submarine in Coney Creek you just have to think of The Beatle's song 'Yellow Submarine'. The small Submarine lies with other wrecks abandoned by their former owners in the water off New Jersey. New Yorkers some times row boats out to the sub to stand on it's deck and have selfies taken for Facebook and Twitter.

One story of how the submarine wound up among Coney Islands 'Ghost Fleet' is that some New Yorkers heard there was a fortune in Salvage on an sunken Italian Cruise Liner off Nantucket, and being New Yorkers, they set to work building a sub to reach the wreck. The Italian ship lay in 250 feet of water, and whether the folks from the Big Apple had thought the entire operation out thoroughly is debatable. So alas, the Yellow Submarine got no further from New York than Coney Island Creek.

Sounds like a great story for a Hollywood Movie, any one from Beverly Hills interested can visit the submarine out in New Jersey. But remember to take an MP3 of 'Yellow Submarine' to listen to.

chronology: 'Lobbyist' The word 'Lobby' to some Americans conjures up images of sinister people influencing Politicians in all kinds of high pressure issues and situations. Lobbying is carried out in all countries and is basically the same the world over. Typically, a Lobby Consultancy provides a Service where a person can approach a Politician and present a well informed and compelling argument for the customer he is representing. To do this, the Lobby Service must have a accredited representative in Government Offices, information on the subject he is presenting for the Politicians consideration, and the skills to present that information in a convincing and compelling way.

Lobbyists can be either a member of a small concern, or be a part of a Network that can draw on the support of Celebrities, Media Corporations, Education Establishments and Social Organisations. The main argument against Lobbying is that it is a Service that only people with wealth can avail of, if homeless Americans had access to a Lobby Group who could explain their circumstances and hardships in a cognitive way to Lawmakers, changes without doubt would be enacted to assist people in such dire straits.

Lobbyists argue they provide a service like many other professions such as Advertising, Consumer Research, or Public Relations.

So if you want to save California Redwoods, or save Cats from cruelty in China, or believe Gays are persecuted in Iran, and have the money to pay for the Service, get yourself a Lobby Firm, your local Politician in your country can usually recommend one to you.

chronology: The first ever Anti Drunk Driving Laws in America were voted in in 1910 in New York City. The Breathalyzer began to be used by U.S. Police Officers in 1953, the American invention was so successful Police Forces around the world were soon using the device.

However, America, like most countries dragged it's feet about dealing with the problem of Drunk Drivers until around the 1970s when all U.S. States began a serious enforcement policy of DUI Laws. In the year 2005 alone, more Americans were killed by Drunk Drivers than were killed in both Gulf Wars, 16000 in total were killed and thousands more injured, along with hundreds of Police Officers assaulted arresting Drunk Drivers. The arrest of Rodney King gave the false impression that Drunk Drivers were somehow roughly handled, in reality every year hundreds of Officers are kicked, punched, stabbed, and shot restraining Drunk Drivers from killing innocent citizens on American roads and highways.

chronology: Despite it's head start in being among the first countries to outlaw Drunk Driving, and despite being the most innovative technologically in combating Drunk Driving, the U.S. has fallen way behind other countries in combating drivers who combine alcohol with driving their automobiles.

In Sweden, there is virtually zero permitted alcohol in the blood of drivers, and Swedish Courts enforce heavy fines on Drunk Drivers. Drunk Drivers convicted of DUI are placed in a Database which is constantly monitored by Officers specifically tasked with checking DUI Offenders, who they have the Right to pull over without any reason other than to check their blood alcohol level and question them about their problem of drinking and driving.

Police Officers in U.S. States would face a battery of Civil Rights complaints if they attempted the Swedish model for reducing DUI deaths.

Some Swedish Police Officers who visit the U.S. are astonished at the American Public's attitude to Drunk Driving, and protecting the Drunk Drivers Rights. 'You voluntarily surrender some of your Rights when get behind the wheel of your car drunk' observed one Swedish Officer.

chronology: In January 1947 a friend dropped 22 year old Elizabeth Short off at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, and that was the last time anyone could confirm speaking to Elizabeth, just over a week later, she wound up dead and became the most famous murder victim in the history of Los Angeles 'The Black Dahlia'.

We know practically nothing of how Elizabeth spent her last days, she had told her friend who dropped her off at the posh hotel that she was meeting her sister there. Elizabeth was no prostitute, but she was no Nun either. She had lived with a number of men in California in the few years she had lived in the State, 'paying the rent on her back' so to speak.

The savage murder of Elizabeth led LAPD to question staff about the time Elizabeth had spent at the Biltmore, she had been seen in the Bars, making phone calls, and on the sixth floor. LAPD had discovered Elizabeth had just been asked to leave the home of a friend who had given her a sofa to sleep on, so she was homeless and probably looking for a new Patron, or maybe trying to move in again with an old Patron.

But it seems Elizabeth never really left the Biltmore, ever. Over the years, people have reported seeing a woman who looked like Elizabeth, a woman who would often vanish into thin air. Cleaning Staff and Security Staff are usually a wealth of folklore knowledge of such matters in famous buildings. A cleaner reported how a woman was seen on the sixth floor and asked to leave; 'she turned and walked straight through a wall' he commented. A security Guard said how a woman showed her a photograph she had taken of an empty Ball Room; 'in the corner of the room there was a figure standing, the woman said when she took the photograph the room was empty. A man reported travelling in a elevator with a woman who looked like Elizabeth, she got out at the 6th floor and vanished when she was out of the elevator.

It seems highly unlikely Elizabeth died at the Biltmore. LAPD probably suspect she returned to someone who held a pretty extreme grudge against her for some reason, real or imagined.

But it seems to this day on quite nights down the deserted hallways walks a young woman who looks just like her ...................

chronology: 1941 was a milestone in American history, 'Televisions' were first offered for sale to the public. a little pointless really as there was no TV Stations to watch on them. In 1946 with the war over, the U.S. began taking a serious interest in TV after a system was successfully demonstrated in San Francisco.. The first commercial TVs in the U.S. were Black and White only, but if you visited a TV Studio you would be surprised to see the Actresses and Actors walking around with black lipstick on and their faces painted green. The Black and White TV Cameras could not handle white well so the Actors had to have green faces. In 1951 the colour TV sets were sold, and Television as we know it had begun. But the first days of TV were dominated by a National hysteria about the colour 'Red' namely communism. Hundreds of TV Actors and Writers were Blacklisted and others sacked from Jobs on suspicion of being 'Communists', gangs of Anti Communist vigilantes began flooding Advertising Agencies with letters naming Actors or Writers they believed to be Communists and TV companies had no choice but to respond to the threat of cancelled advertising revenue. The first 'Ball Games' broadcast by TV companies were very basic to say the least, no close up shots of Reggie Jackson like today, there was just one camera at the Game showing the field from a distance.

In 1990 TV made yet another leap forward with Digital Hi Definition TV, since then 3D pictures and 3D sound have added to the television experience. Large Flat Screen TVs also became the norm for most viewers.

Today Americans spend more time watching TV than any other pastime, rich sharp colours, exquisite clear sound and breathtaking photography make TV an unmissable experience.
