However, I had high hopes for that and a fatal beating for the husband and wife kidnappers in Canada, Bernardo and Homolka, and that didn't happen. Homolka through plea bargaining only served 12 years in prison and part of that was in some prison that looked like nice condos and definitely didn't look like maximum security. Now she's living with a new husband and 3 kids in the Caribbean. And Bernardo is still in prison but they keep him away from the other prisoners because they know he'd be killed. So this bastard who kidnapped, raped and killed 3 teenagers, gets special protection in prison. It's sickening how these sick people who take away other peoples' rights somehow have rights. I wonder how long it will take for a trial of Castro and how many years he'll get in prison. In cases like this where there's certainty that this person is guilty it seems ridiculous to have to go through the expense of a trial and to have these victims and their families involved in such a long drawn-out procedure.
