DarwinsMoth: These day's the exact moment for the calculation of the sign/chart, in the current birth-based system is the time of the first breath- it used to be the calculated time of conception. harlett anathema: your personality isn't just affected by your genetics and environment....your body is only inheriting your ancestor genetic history.. that effects your bodies well being.... what your talking about involves a psychic remembrance in those genes that made up your ancestors likes & dislikes...then we must not forget our own inherited karma ..& past incarnation... Oh yeah.... that's very scientific.   lavendar_star: But the fact is how can star sign/horoscopes whatever predict or indicate the personalities of billions of people globally. I have meet other leos and they don't have the same lives or personality as myself. One big descriptions of leos is that we are selfish, I am not and that we like to be the centre of attention not me and never have been. I have friend who believes in it all and the first thing she asks is what star sign you are and then say your like a and b because of your star sign, crazy lol. Corwin: Lavender brings up a good point..... to suggest that you can take 7 billion people and lump them into twelve personality types, is absurd to say the least. harlett anathema: Candy.... i find horoscopes fun.. the real science behind them i am unschooled in...i enjoy how un-canny they can be.... lavendar_star: Harlet I get what your saying but dont agree, how can people who I have never met from hundreds of years ago have a impact on my personality, I have mixed ancestry African, English and possible native Caribbean, their genetics obviously impact my looks, skin colour and body type but not personalty. I just think star signs devalues our own individuality and the different life experiences you have especially in your childhood and teen years, you have twins who are different and they are obv born the same time and have the same genetics and upbringing but have different personalities and different lives in their adult years. I knew a pair of twins one was my good friend but the other she wasnt nice and different personality to my friend (the evil twin lol) . harlett anathema: like it or not... we 7 billion folks are pretty much up too the same thing in every passing,second... harlett anathema: Corvin was suggesting..Lavendar....where are personalities come from etc etc etc etc... but it is true... we can strongly inherit a relatives talent..skill.. strong likes or dislikes... that has too involve some from of psychic remenbrance...in the genes themselves... Corwin: Lavender also brings up a good point about identical twins... and there is a scientific genetic explanation to this. There are "intron" genes that can switch on or off depending on personal experiences and habits... these switching genes can alter a person physically and mentally... which is why the identical genome doesn't mean identical people or personality. No two people are the same... we are like snow-flakes. To suggest that there are only 12 kinds of people diminishes the reality of just how unique we all are. harlett anathema: traits...they are speaking of traits........what we do with those traits is on us as individuals.... i can't recall where i read it.. but the same goes for body types... and faces....  Robot Seb: I'm not sure as far as how the solar system was actually formed Corvin although many clues and hypothesis on them suggest numerous possibilities and any of them could be true. I like the supernova theory as a lot of clues fit within that hypothesis including the time frame of the universe. If there were a supernova near us that formed our solar system, there would also be remnants of it. This theory said that the Oort cloud is a remnant of that supernova, it all tied together. There's no way Uranium would be on our planet in abundance lol. Not even our star can form it. How this all ties to astrology I have no clue, just another hypothesis on how the solar system was formed is all. I do believe there is some weird connection between life and the stars though, after all calcium and iron are from the stars and within us all. Perhaps there is some genetic link to us and the cosmos that we have yet to discover. I find it all fascinating though.  (Edited by Robot Seb) Robot Seb: As for horoscopes, this survey was to gauge how accurate it was, for some people it's not accurate, for others it is accurate so it's pretty hard to say whether it's real or just some stuff written for novelty, I guess it's all based on perception and how they are interpreted.
