Fight The Power or Be The Power? (Page 3)

ShawnXx: That's exactly why I don't care about the plight and moaning about fair tax from corporations and the rich. Corporations outsource and get tax breaks and all kinds of advantages and none of those jobs are here in the US.

ShawnXx: SERGIO MARCHIONNE, Chrysler: We have received confirmation this morning at 10:13 a.m. from Citigroup that Chrysler Group repaid, with interest, by wire transfer to the United States Treasury and by bank transfer to the Canadian government, every penny that had been loaned less than two years ago.

(CHEERING AND APPLAUSE)

JEFFREY BROWN: The bill came to $7.6 billion -- $5.9 billion repaid to the U.S. government and $1.7 billion to Canada.

The company financed the repayment with a mixture of bonds, bank loans, and an increased stake from its Italian part-owner, Fiat. Less than two years ago, Chrysler had emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy with a government bailout package that also left it under Fiat management.

Ron Bloom was part of President Obama's auto task force.

Ok I hate cut&paste can we move on to solutions now?

How Subchapter S Corporations Get Taxed

People often think that S corporations are complicated. That’s not really true in most cases, however. S corporations are actually less complicated, in many ways, than partnerships and than limited liability companies treated as partnerships.

The General Rule on S Corporation Taxation
The general rule for S corporation taxation works like this. An S corporation calculates its income just like a regular corporation. However, rather than taxing the corporation the corporation on those profits, the corporation’s owners get taxed on their shares of the corporation’s profit.

Azathoth: I think he meant that because of Canada's proximity to and influence on these issues...they haven't suffered layoffs. The same cannot be said about American employees, though. Canada contributed to the automotive bail-outs and haven't had the layoffs.

Azathoth: And to think this crisis (worst since the Great Depression) basically started with subprime mortgage problems. Amazing how things escalate.

Employers having jobs helps the economy. That's simple economics. That is just one of many reasons the bail-outs helped. Trickle down economics doesn't work. Why? One word: avarice.

SosweetlySo: @ Fruitbat I think fighting for rights as a person or a leader are similar in ways and equally important.

That's really what it's about, right? I know that many people seeing this will believe that you, SoSweetlySo, and everyone else who's responded, on this thread, can be lumped into a category...usually Democrat or Republican. That is likely not the case. That's also an inherent problem with our modern system: we think there are TWO sides to this democracy. There needs to be a more concerted effort to show that there are over 300,000,000 sides that are to be represented. I'm sick of settling. Every American must be represented!

Azathoth: Well, then...thank goodness for things like bail-outs and the end of across-the-board trickle down economics. Though, it would be nice if the unemployed could simply just go get a job. It's not that easy, in this economy. It hasn't been easy for 10+ years.

ShawnXx: It's just not easy to just simply get a job. Retired people like my Father are going back to work because they can't make it on retirement checks, I've had to settle for a low paying job even though I'm qualified to do better, people are competing for minimum wage jobs, and the demand is crazy. There just aren't any opportunities for anyone not even the kids graduating college. We need to figure out how to keep corps here providing jobs.

OCD_OCD: The way to keep jobs and even make jobs is if businesses are not targeted. No corporation is going to stick their neck out and shovel their cash reserves into an economy that is unstable and antagonistic of business. The fear in the stock market after the election shows this, don't you think?

Azathoth: Outsourcing takes job, too. Again: money needs to be spent in order to make it. Sacrifices need to be made. Warren Buffett or Bill Gates could simply fart too hard...and the stock market speculators would freak out. There are also very few, on Wall Street, that aren't conservative and they are mostly caring for only profits. Corporate communism has the super wealthy patting each other's backs...from the offices to the market.

Anyway, who's going to give solutions, instead of harping on tired old political partisanship and promulgations of agendas?

Edit: outsourcing takes jobs away

OCD_OCD: The money being spent needs to come from businesses who are clinging to their cash in fear of a shaky economy and an antagonistic atmosphere and not from the government. What program does the federal government run properly or even economically?

harlett anathema: secular liberalism will lead too loss of personal freedom and choices...I am not one who desires too told what i can do or not do with my skills...and spare dimes....many folks invested in wall street before most of us were born.. and receive a dividend check...they are a dying breed of investor's.....

i don get where, some of You are coming from....when your saying the government has a right to come in and take a chunk of dollars out of your spare change profits and spend it as they so choose while they are already taking a bigger and bigger chunk out of what you are earning...

outsourcing is a result of diplomatic diplomacy...from the thought,if you raised the economic stature of a 3rd world nation...there'd be more Peace and Prosperity, and Democracies in the world....

the poor have a right to be given????You mean the infirm have right too be taken care of..the elderly not be left to rot in isolation and serve poverty..the single parent a helping hand with child care, bills ,food and medical care.what is the excuse for not bothering getting a simple high school education...Your mother was too busy being a welfare drunk or drug addict who didn't bother to parent you..socialize you and insist you have skills that don't land you in jail, prison ..so now you have a right to expect those who work too give you a free ride, while you do nothing but complain you deserve more free stuff and better quality free stuff... wonder what working folks are gonna do.. when they see.. the free loaders with better things than can buy for them-self and their own...

the government didn't earn the money the are wastefully spending ... WE did.....We have a right too see them do so with sound sense.....

but they have refused....and now it is the rich fault that they need more of their money too waste.....and are just as lewdly backing up the governments demand for more...isn't that because in the end... it is the working class who will carry the load... and pay the bills for programs that are seeped in fraud....while they shrug off the hardships loaded onto the backs of the working class..

yeah yeah yeah it's too complicated too end welfare fraud..with photo id....and finger prints....

twice as many people who actually live in Pennsylvania voted than live in the state...wouldn't photo & finger print id & nifty computer's id checking have eliminated that... oh yeah it's racist . too have even suggested....

PigCatcher: someone not important said, and I quote,

"Who are the major taxpayers? Corporations and small businesses. Who are the major employers? Corporations and small businesses."

Comment......lololololololol.

1) People that work for a living that have their pay cheques deducted each pay period with various taxes pay the most tax.

2) People buying things that have to pay a sales tax pay the most taxes.

3) people buying gas for their cars pay the most taxes.

4) capital gains taxes, property taxes and many other hidden taxes........people that pay these pay the most taxes.

What kind of a fool would try to say corporations and rich people pay the most taxes.

People in that tax bracket get to write off EVERYTHING!!!!! They call their vacations Business trips. They call their bribes and kickbacks given to the politicians "business development" expenses.

And why is that? Well, just who do you think wrote the tax code????? Duhhhhhhh,,,,,,the rich and powerful of course.

Starting to get the picture now?

etc. etc. etc.

Because of my corporations and the fact that I am not an employee, I LEGALLY pay next to nothing in taxes.

lololololololololol

Stop lying please to support your Romney republican obsession.

OCD_OCD: According to an NFIB National Small Business Poll, 75 percent of small businesses are structured as pass-through entities (S corporations, limited liability companies, sole proprietorships or partnerships) that must pay tax on their business income at the individual rate. Most small businesses do not pay the corporate tax. If the tax rates enacted in 2001 and 2003 are allowed to expire, the small business sector would see its taxes increase significantly in 2012.

Now Rabbit, if you have a discussion, then have a discussion, but if you want to poke me in the eye, don't bother because I find you tiresome, angry and brutish.
